this has to be the cleanest cateye ive ever seen. this is literally my dream truck
His truck used to be my dream truck as well. That was until I picked up my own cat eye. 04 1500 5.3 4x4 171k miles no rust or issues at all lol
Thought about doing this on my truck. I had tried 3 diferent mufflers and had nothing I liked. Finally installed an 18-inch magnaflow last week and absolutely love it. It has added a lot healthier tone and rumble plus some power. It's crazy I took off at every red light last week and managed to average 15.5... before I averaged 14.5 driving it normal. That muffler helped me out a lot. I can't wait to see what it does when I can keep my foot out of it. Plus I towed my bass boat Monday and it helped a whole lot with getting up to speed vs the other mufflers I've had.
Trevor Alexander hey Alex do you have a video of the Magnaflow?
Lol a simple muffler is not going to do that sorry, not sorry.
TRUE dual exhaust is what old muscle cars & trucks had: Two individual pipes that don't converge at all: No Y-pipe, no H-pipe ("balance pipe" is what we called them years ago), no X-pipe, no muffler with two inlets and only one outlet, etc. They may not have had the best exhaust flow, but it's what gave them their unique sound. When you factor-in no cats, and common mods like headers and glasspack mufflers, you end-up with that classic muscle car sound.
H-pipe has a muscle car sound.
Not true, 60s-80s muscle cars had crossovers.
On the contrary, the H pipe is better for vehicles that do towing due to the added low end torque, the X pipe is good for the higher rpm torque and horsepower. The H pipe is a better route if you're going for a tow rig or a town cruiser
Wrong. H pipes balance pulses. Xpipe does the exact same thing plus induces scavenging from the shape. This creates power increase everywhere over an H. Most noticable in the low to mid range.
Only thing I’m hauling is ASS💨
@@garlandjones7709 please supply documented data for that claim, when common knowledge is that an X-pipe benefits the top end & an H-pipe benefits the midrange, even the fella in the video says as such re: the X-pipe.
@@phil955i common knowledge where? A Walmart parking lot? Ill send you a better message when i get off work. While were waiting, why dont you tell me why a straight pipe with 90 degree flow rotation in and out would make more power at any rpm than say a 60 degree or smaller transition in flow?
Fyi, exhaust is air too.... this shouldnt be bard to ponder on.
@@garlandjones7709 what's a Walmart? I'm from the UK. And the gobbledegook above makes absolutely no sense. I'm waiting for your documented facts with bated breath.
Next truck is gonna be a 03 to 06 extended cab or 4 door with this same exhaust setup. Sounds great!
You mean 03 to 07 classic.
Love them body style trucks
called a cat eye
I’m definitely going with the X pipe exhaust for my 03 suburban
Badass video! I’m going to do an x pipe on my next exhaust set up for sure👍🏻👊🏻
How much u spent
On x pipe
@@semperparatus3188 nice were are you located
@@semperparatus3188 lol
Another benefit with the x pipe (not sure if anybody commented) is exhuast scavenging. It helps prevent to much back pressure from going back into the engine
Back pressure is a myth
@@Jack-bj4jw xpipes scavenge. Nothing to do w backpressure though. You're right in that sense.
Backpressure "talk" is usually legit circumstances with backpressure being the wrong culprit. You can still go to large on exhaust. This is where that myth argument comes into play and that comment is usually used by those that dont know what they're talking about.
@@garlandjones7709 isnt it where no scavenging and no exhaust velocity kills your torque?
@@stew-03 yes and no. I view it backwards from what you're thinking but the result is the same. That view looks at a stock running vehicle. Mine would look at a bare engine perspective with no pipes at all as a starting point.
You search for ways to keep exhaust velocity high without hindering flow to raise torque. It's not that the other drops it. Its dropped from the start if you're viewing the engine by itself.
If you're looking at it from the the engine now with a set of headers and you're adding pipe from the collector to tailpipe tip, then yes a loss of velocity and scavenging will reduce torque. This is a byproduct of the pipe that is unavoidable. The key from a designer's perspective at this point is to design those pipes from start to finish where the least amount of loss is prevalent. This is where the X comes in along with a handful of other things that aid in reducing this loss.
And it's not so much that an X is gaining power at this point as it is that its reducing loss from what youd have with open headers.
Now this same concept would not apply to cast manifolds in the same sense as they're not designed for optimum velocity already, they come engineered from the oem with the whole system meeting whatever criteria the manufacturer had set.
The function of the Xpipe though will not change though. It still does th e same work no matter what is put behind it or in front of it that may hamper it.
Edit: there is not one single app an xpipe will not improve unless the design of the x itsself is bad or hampers flow. Location is important too and this ties into velocity. Many are setup poorly as they are set too far back from the collectors of the headers.
When you think of a v8, dont think of an 8 cylinder engine. Think of 8 one cylinder engines. The idea is to have each one in equal harmony. Same concept behind why you want equal length primaries on your headers. In many instances you cant make them equal whether its exhaust, fuel distribution through carb. Head flow per port bc of valve train components or oil or water passages, etc. Some cylinders run hotter than others needing more fuel. Some get 20-30cfm airflow less on 2 cylinders than the other 6 bc of intake design. You want to find a way to equalize these as close as possible. Again, this is the function behind the X. It's not just a theorized flop like a "tornado" or throttle body spacer. It is a legitimate working product. How much it helps isnt set in stone. It's only relative to how much its improving on what your starting point it. And that goes for every other product on every other application.
Every V engine made except for v12s benefit from these for those reasons and because of natural imbalances due to firing order. Inline engines benefit from this too. It's the same concept behind tri-y headers, just further down the line.
I went with the dual exhaust on a 6.2 2019 Ford with the magna flow X pipe built in it
I have a true dual on my 1996 Chevy sliverado and I put free flow cats and a 6 inch glass packs in both sides and then a 3.5 inch tip with a 45 degree cut. I absolutetly love this setup and plus it’s loud as hell, but bc it is a glass pack it takes a couple for the sound to really break in
You got a video?
True dual exhaust straight piped for me please.
Yours sounds nice as well though.
Personally I think it claps too much but oh well I guess lmao
The sound 👌
Do it for Dale !
I have a 1998 Chevy Silverado with high flow cats and I have put an x pipe and with out and I like it the best with out the x pipe it runs the best on my truck
Hell yea brother do it for dale!! Love the shirt. I got duals on my truck an I’m pissed I don’t have true duals on my 5.3. One in 2 out I’m looking to get the x pipe
i just ordered the speed engineering x pipe setup for my truck. I'm excited
Remember to thank your parents
Truck looks great. Hope it's AC system condensed water underneath.
I remember my father's boss had a 350SS short short bed the man he purchased this truck from had took the factory catalytic converter and positioned it in between both pipes an H pipe but he didn't do it for performance down here early 90s we didn't do smog test the cat just had to be there and technically it was!
Sounds bad ass👌🏼 I definitely need an x-pipe on my truck
I always wondered why I never see H pipes on pickups since they’re produce better low end power.
I have true dual x pipe i love ittt
True dual means no crossover.
It has already been mentioned in the comments that an X pipe will rob your engine of low end torque, also the X or for a pickup truck a H pipe should be mounted as close to the engine as posible for best scavenging and flow, horsepower only varies about 2-3 hp between X,H or straight pipe setups .
Are you just being nit picky. Come on
I watched your first video a few months back on the exhaust and I went and had it done the exact same even same dump angle! Love it but not to loud for true duals! Awesome truck man!
How much did it cost
What is this the exhaust starter kit? Nah haha just kidding. I think the “camera doesn’t do the justice” haha...
Limiting Reversion is one of the major benefits of running an x-pipe.
Hey man awesome truck and video my 02 Silverado with a 6.0 long tube headers with cats true dual exhaust no mufflers sounds awesome in your opinion will my truck sound better with a x pipe....with my 4.10 gears and 4 speed I think my top end is good
Beautiful truck sounds good
Hey I have a built motor with a str stage 2 cam how do you think a x pipe with true duals sound i don’t want really any clapping a little bit is ok though keep up the great work on the videos👍👍
I've been shopping for an obs chevy truck for the last few weeks and it has been difficult to find the right one. I was hit by another driver last year and the pos totaled my beloved 98 obs k1500 stepside chevy silverado. An x pipe was gonna be my next mod before the crash. RIP Bella😔 A feller miss's his truck
plan on doing this to mine thanks for the update!
Nice looking truck
That's a clean ass truck man! 👍
Actually! Engine masters did this test and a 3" y pipe with single 3" out the back through a straight through magnaflow made 25 more hp thank x and h pipe and master torque down low.... the numbers don't lie and the old wives tails people claim without proof is hilarious. Especially the old exhaust shops...
What is best for raising low end torque? I dont really do racing and I dont hot rod around. My foot is just a little bit heavier than average. And I do ALOT of towing. 90 percent of the time I at least have a empty trailer.
Man have the same truck wow that's a great sound 👌👌👌
Really nice truck I got the same one. same color 8'bed single cab Day cab
is your rear bumper chrome? with the pads
Dude the X pipe should go the CLOSEST to the headers. If you can get it right after long tubes or headers to mids that’s where. The X scavenges less and less the further downstream you put it.
Your truck bad azz
Bad ass truck man 💯💯💪🏽
Good video I learned a lot
Thats a beautiful sound 💪💪💪💪
I have 3" true dual exhaust no cats double H pipe and single chamber thrush bottles full 3" manifolds back on my 98 Z71 5.7 I will never do anything exhaust less then 3" ever again. 3" full duals sound so much better way deeper I prefer the H pipe over the x myself
I have headers and true duals all the way back and it still sounds raspy, if I put an x pipe in will it get rid of the raspiness or at least some?
Great video man!
I’m getting mine done friday
Let me know if thats a good price i just got it like 45 minutes ago & it drives so smooth the 1st agreement was for 1700 with the 4-2 Kevlar Powerband Corvette servo, performance torque converter & stage 2 shift kit but when he open it it had other thing burned 300 more but oem specs parts but adding the extra performance parts 3200 tax included & the truck runs like when I got it in 2009 let me kniw if thats a good price thanks
Nice truck where did you get these badges
TeXas & TeHas 《 THE TRUTH SET U FREE
Nice cleetus shirt bro
I would really love to know what wheel setup you are running ..
They look like Fuel Forged FF19
I've been trying to find a video of a xpipe like this but like what it sounds like in the cabin. Could you possibly do one?
Hey man, love the video. Do you buy the materials or do they supply and install it all at the shop typically?
Super late but exhaust shops have their own pipes to install
Because it's what you have on your truck
Amen to that
Do I need to add mufflers for that type of exhaust? Or is it personal preference? Please let me know.
Can you do a video on the led lights in the interior?
Can you send a pic of how you exhaust is I want similar set up in my truck
Awesome informational educational video experience Y'alls
Finally a Chevy that sounds good 😂 jk not trying to be a Mopar fan boy
I wanted to get this done, but one of mechanics told me that with the power coming of my stock 05 Chevy Silverado 1500 with the 5.3 Vortec it wouldn't have enough back pressure or something like that. Was there any concerns or anything like that told to you?
that mechanic shouldnt be a mechanic if hes ignorant on exhaust systems.

How many inches do have on your lift kit?
Hey what's up buddy great video and explain on that xpipe. So I have done a dual exhaust on my 2018 titan and I put blackwidow mufflers on it . So if I go and get this xpipe put on it will sound even louder and add a little bit of power to my truck? Thanks bro
Get a 4:10 with an electronic locker
Does a xpipe take away the annoying raspy wet fart sound of true dual exhaust?
Did you ever find out what brand the x pipes were?
What’s a good brand X pipe/exhaust
I just got the x pipe on my truck and it’s a lot louder then this truck and now need a muffler
Thanks brother big help
What's the name and size of the your wheels?
I’m wanting to get this exact exhaust what should I tell the shop I want done
I know this is an old video but in this video what are the exact wheel and tire specs?
I prefer the sound of true duals
How bad is the Drone??? Sorry i skip some of the video
I’m going to be doing new headers, no cats to an X pipe with dual magnaflows
Mitchell MX post a vid
Joshua MieczniKowski will definitely do when it’s done
When you get on it and let off and you have that crackle does that just happen when you let off the throttle it drive or do you have it in over drive or what because i love that crackle
oFseige it’s backfire from letting off the gas
If you do a axel dump where would you put the x pipe and muffler
Can you do 2 turn downs off the end of the x pipe, I don't want to go all the way back with pipe, thanks..
Yes but you will need to run some pipe after the X in order for it to work properly I believe
Where can I get the whole exhaust system ???????
Does the X Pipe save u a lil more gas den regular pipes
Curious if you’ve had any trouble with the full windshield tint?
I don’t have windshield tint but Michael with the Tahoe does and he gets pulled for it
Do you have mufflers or are you going straight out, I did not see in your pic
Just did my own true duals and it doesn’t clap loud what’s the issue?
Will an x pipe sound better with a muffler like flow master 40??
Hay man do you have any drone at highway speeds with no mufflers
I have a 2002 GMC Sierra 8.1L extended cab 6in lift. was wondering if I should do long pipe headers or shorties. Or keep it stock?? I wanna run axel dump xpipe
I have a 2008 Chevrolet Avalanche 5.3l i recently did the following to my transmisdion they charge me 3200 00 idk if thats a good price I copy & paste the text from the transmission shop:
Per our conversation we will be rebuilding your transmission super duty. Which inclu 2/4kevlar band, Corvette servo, performance torque converter, stage 2 shift kit, sumshell ( the beast) , 10 clutch pack raybestos performance, 5 gear rear planet assembly , 10 vane kit pump gears synthetic fluid 1 year warranty plus 2 fluid or complete transmission service
Question. Does the x pipe work with headers? I mean do you get more power? I am going for speed on my truck not towing
If you have a muffler ? What are you using , it sounds great,? What engine do you have
maybe watch the video
Does an x-pipe help with back pressure?
And this was a great video also!. 🍻
is there a brand of x pipe that's better
My next thing is the cold air intake & the X-pipe than a cam with the AFM/DOD delete or just the Cam & with the tune they can delete the AFM/DOD any suggestions very much appreciated thanks again
Suggestion in regards to what?. You did not indicate the question therein. Which brings me to my next question, why is it that the illegal Mexicans who are in California have this certain look in their eyes as if they don't have a lot of thought or brain activity at any given moment.? I noticed this especially more on the excessively overweight large Mexican women who have an excess of four children their eyes are glossed over and they cannot focus on anything in particular at any time oh, they are also very rude and go very slow and smell very bad but when they are not in a complete Daze they themselves actually show intention of moving more than they very minimum pace. It's a zip they've used all their energy and resources by illegally entering the United States that they feel now as if everybody should cater to them because they refused to speak English it is it okay that the father of illegal alien parenting children in the United States talk to their friends about fondling very young children after consuming a moderate amount of alcohol and after three to four modelo's they become homosexual in nature. Also why are the Mexicans ruining all the off-road spots and why are they so rude and unable to create a structured sentence and why does the Spanish language sound so retarded says if there's only eight words and they are using those eight words to describe anything and everything
H pipe is supposed to help low end torque
Have you got the DMAX yet ?
What is the Diablo tune you put in there
What size is ur lift I want that stance
