    It's difficult to take an attorney seriously when they are leaning on something, hand on hip and rocking. Playing w/ her phone does not instill confidence either.

      They must be lowering the "bar" when it comes to lawyers these days as the number of them being schooled on "due process" and the interpretation of law is growing everyday.
      I feel sorry for this defendant as the lawyers disrespect and behavior is not doing him any favors. Asking for the case to not be transmitted on TH-cam is more about the attorney than it is about the defendant.
      If I was the defendant I would be preparing myself for a re-trial due to insufficient and sub-standard legal representation!

      Right, print out or write you questions and points down and tidy yourself up girl, you look like you’re about to argue with the teenager at Arby’s over the fact you only got 5 onion rings when you usually get 6.
      Has she not watched ANY court program before? Did they not do mock trials in Law School? I get we all have bad days, but arguing with the judge that you will be working with a lot in your career is really arrogant!

    I feel for the defendant. The "lawyer" is beyond incompetent and disrespectful. With her there, he barely needs the prosecution to come after him.
    The lawyer needs a lot of re-educating

    This NEW attorney has a lot to learn. Even I knew her objecting to the overruling was not legal. Judge Boyd explaining the process to this defendant has my highest respect.

      Wait till her boss sees this, I feel like maybe somebody lied on their resume. I’ve never seen a male attorney in Judge Boyd’s court room not dressed appropriately for court. They usually are wearing a suit. Women should respect the court in the same manner. A suit, skirt or slacks, and jacket.

    Did she just graduate from law school and barely pass the Bar exam? That alone could be a reason to appeal if this goes to jury trial: ineffective assistance by Counsel. At least the defendant was more on point than his defence attorney.

    I remember when she had this case in front of her 2 weeks or so ago with another attorney that wasn't the main attorney on file. And had this same problem, lead attorney wasn't there Judge was super frustrated and now here we are again. I feel so bad for this defendant. He doesn't want this group of incompetent lawyers representing him.

      Yes!!! I remember it too. Another attorney showed up in her place and Judge Boyd was pissed that the attorney of record was not present. The other female attorney started to walk out with an attitude and Judge Boyd was NOT having it. Sounds like this particular law practice is a bunch of clowns. 🤡

    I object to the attorney rocking back and forth, leaning on that surface at the same time, pulling up the waste band of her skirt, objecting to the "over ruled" order by the Judge, and the fact that someone somewhere decided she "passed the Bar Exam." That's all.🤣🤣

    This firm has done a major disservice to this client. Ineffective Counsel, anyone? And WTH is an objection to an overrule? This attorney needs some schooling on how to comport oneself in a courtroom-and how to defend a client’s rights. Doing nothing is not an option. 🧐

      And as I commented earlier, she just might not be suited for courtroom work.

    When I first heard the attorney and listened to her present, I seriously expected to see a 20-something, fresh out of law school pup standing before Judge Boyd. I did a double take when I turned to the screen and saw the phone toting, hand on hip and rocking back and forth attorney (who has been licensed in Texas since 2009). Even I know better than to approach Judge Boyd that way, and I'm just a teacher from a whole different state!

    I understand the judge is annoyed at how this incompetent law firm has handled things, but she is wrong to take it out on the defendant. He's entitled to competent representation and he's not getting it. She's forcing him to go to trial with incompetent and unprepared lawyers. That's unfair and unconstitutional.

    @ 3:44 "object to the overrulment". That statement was so asinine that it brought a smile to the judge and merited a mini-lecture. "Overrulment" isn't even a word. This gal needs some in-court training. Seriously. How embarrassing for that to get back to the partners.
    Sometimes we throw in the word "exception" but as the judge explained, even that isn't really necessary.

    These last minute lawyer changes are sometimes used to further delay the case, something Judge Boyd is not going to do since it is such an old case.

    Judge Boyd needs to sanction this attorney, who is not only showing blatant disrespect for the court, but also appears to be miserably failing her client through her utterly incompetent representation. I remember a similar situation on a case a couple of weeks back where another attorney showed up in one’s place trying to withdrawal representation and Judge Boyd was pissed that the attorney of record was not present. The other female attorney started to walk out with an attitude and Judge Boyd was NOT having it. Sounds like this might be another 🤡 from a particular law practice that hired a bunch of Gen Z types that have zero respect for the judicial process.

    What is up with that attorney? Has she not trained on professional decorum? Her body language is so aggressive, hostile, and revealing. Her rocking back and forth, hand on her hip, and mobile phone in the other hand. That looks so unprofessional, she really needs to watch some live court cases, and pull herself together. She is so disheveled, I realize she is in an awkward position with this case, but the truth is, she will only be a court appointed attorney in her career if she doesn’t present herself as competent.

      @@00o41 So? Regardless, he paid for another attorney - she's like a substitute teacher - and she's not dumb. The problem is that some other judge told his lawyer to be in their court. Two judges tell you to show up in different places at the same time: What are you supposed to do? Note that the prosecutors don't have to run around to multiple counties every day like defense lawyer do.

      "Tired of all these free giveaways paid for by taxpayers"? The US Constitution *guarantees* legal representation of criminal suspects in the 6th Amendment. It's one of the founding principals of our democracy. You might want to learn why.

      @@jasonraff7232 these people think they're safe because they think they don't commit crimes. 1. that won't save them. 2. there are so many stupid laws that it's practically impossible to not commit crimes. these people commit dozens of crimes every day but don't know it. they're funny and sad, but mostly sad.
