Just checked the motherboard, of course it is the single cheapest motherboard gigabyte makes on the platform.
It has an amazing 3+1 phase vrm without a heatsink.
It only supports vga out (this may actually be a blessing as it may prevent people from accidentally plugging the monitor into the igp instead of the gpu)
I wonder what it will do under a combined gpu+cpu torture workload. I wouldn't be surprised if it actually catches fire.

They probably had the glue on the usb cable so they know if anyone took it apart. So I would re glue it just encase they try to say you cant return for some BS reason. Also what a pos for the price!

@@harleyme3163 I mean, ram is ram. You really aren't benefiting from the company. In terms of the build (excluding value) If I saw correctly, this ram is from adata 2400MHz. Pretty standard especially given the motherboard only supports 2133/ 2400MHz. I doubt you'll find difference between a corsair 2400MHz vs adata 2400MHz. Also, given that there's only two ram slots, it's smarter to go with one stick of 16gb. No real need to go two sticks of 8gb.

@@ronnieclute1318 I don't know what the other config for the 32 gigabyte pc is (motherboard specifically) so my guess is that Walmart bulk bought 16gb sticks? Which could be why only one stick was used (if the dt3 motherboard also only supported 2 ram slots). And not to mention, from a gaming perspective, depending on the game, you may or may not see any sort of performance boost between dual and single.

Not really, Dell puts higher quality components in their computers than this walmart computer. Dell's biggest issue is that they insist on using the same damn case they've been using forever even though space and heat dissipation requirements have gone up a lot. So you end up with things like the Alienware towers that have decent components that get throttled due to heat.

I think it's most likely a mistake though. That scam would be a really scummy and absolutely disgusting move.

Walmart is serving as the storefront for these Chinese PCs. That's it. They certainly aren't building them and they aren't even shipping them. They are coming straight from China and the drop shipper will have whatever stock they have. So Walmart shouldn't be in bed with these people but I'm also sure they will correct it. They need to find a better partner, which will be tough.
Why Walmart has not devoted an aisle in their electronics section to PC components is beyond me. And if they then wanted to hire a dozen people to work in back putting these things together to sell in-store then that would be far better than this. They have a massive leg-up on the competiton by having the storefront presence they have. While the few remaining computer stores like Microcenter offer the same, being able to walk into a Walmart and buy a good gaming PC off the shelf that you can see with your own two eyes, and not having to wait, would be attractive to some people.

Mem: 40 (very very hard to find that model of Adata)
GFX Card: $300-400 (Gigabyte GTX 1070 WindForce)

SSD: Cannot locate price. It's an Adata, marking it as one of the worst SSDs on the market, ever. I'd estimate it's a $40-50 SSD.
      HDD: $55 (Toshiba 2TB)
      Windows: $100
      Case: 50
      Grand total: ~$1070

So everything from the shipping and retail boxes said DTW1. No need to even open the box/es. No one going out of their way to pay for the DTW3 over the DTW1, is going to simply not bother to even look at the box/es for DTW1/3 indicia. It was a fulfillment/shipping error, clearly. That’s why they are exchanging it. Why fuck it all up the way you did? What a fucking noob. Thank goodness people don’t buy your shit builds, which apparently takes less care than Walmart’s OEM factory.

Do you really think they would do better cable routing, and put higher quality components in the next tier? Certainly not. I'm sure the 1080ti model also has a Great Wall PSU, albeit potentially higher wattage, and same CPU cooler fan, same front panel spacing, etc. The shipping mixup is irrelevant in this review with the notable exception of the point he made about uninformed consumers not even knowing they may be getting ripped off, since someone who knows nothing about computers wouldn't be able to tell the difference when looking at the parts.

I just recently picked up a Lenovo IdeaPad 3i 14" Windows 11 Home for $249. Obviously this is a sub-300 dollar laptop but its great for travel and donut shops. The only issue is I had to go to 3 different Walmarts in one day to get it. The first one, showed to be in stock but when I got there they couldnt find it. The 2nd one, all they had was the demo model and it was broken. The third store, had only one and a store employee tried to say he was going to buy it when he got off. I argued that Im the customer and Im here to buy it NOW!! Finally I got my backup Lenovo. Dang it Walmart!

A PSU is something I tell people to never skimp out on, because I've had a few over the years go BANG! just being my thrifty self trying to save a few bucks before learning my lessons, and it's sad these companies are using such shitty components, and charging this much.

Checked over their websites, that's a GW-6000(80+), they claim it has a 80+ bronze certification. They actively refuse to sell it at home, but are happy to sell it abroad on gwoversea.com. it's closest statistical equivalent they sell at home is the Dragon 600SP, its a 600RMB part (~$86 USD) but it appears FAR superior on every front. Another company only behaving reputable at home, but behaving disreputably internationally. This is why China gets a bad reputation. :-(

This didn't surprise me at all, when i first got into pc gaming i bought an Alienware Pc from walmart that they said was "New" the pc had a user on it and after talking with customer support they told me they could sell me a new copy of windows and that was it. I trudged on got into the main desktop myself got it all set up and a game installed, the game and the pc then crashed within 5 minutes. (Found out why it was returned a first time). When i tried to run any game after that they did not run and the pc would just restart. Took it back to the store i boght it from showed them my reciept showing it should have been new and got a full refund. I then went and built my own pc, (was concerned with doing it before). Moral of the story here is dont buy electronics from walmart. Just dont do it.

@@redlegsgreaves8754 honestly this should be a requirement for all users of any desktop computer Nationwide. Because of how simplified and efficient technology has become because of advances in mass production and the fact that the past 30 years of design have made 'building your own PC' a plug-and-play experience of software and Hardware, unless time or budgetary constraints make it impossible for you to do so, there is no reason why someone should not just order the complete 'PC kit' of popular ready to install ingredients, and pop it all together before 'turning the key' and taking off. Call it the driver's ed equivalent of personal computing, it's just a basic skill that anyone who operates a device should learn for their own sake. but most drivers don't even know how to change the oil in their modern cars so what can I say?
It's not like the olden days where _building a PC_ solely implied pulling a Woz and machining your own connectors, soldering wires, pressing boards, and carving a case out of plywood. It's easier than ever now to make a PC, everything you need is online.

@@PACKERMAN2077 just the copypasta from my own earlier comment, i can't agree more.
"Yes I understand that sometimes its not an option, but i honestly believe that any person who wants to step into the more then just office work world, should build their own PC at least once. Its an empowering experience and lets the people who do it get a better understanding and handling of the magical box which produces pictures. And mostly because its NOT THAT HARD after ONE day of research most people will be able to get a decent idea of how to do this, especially younger people should be encouraged. Yes, there are often little details for which one will need actual experience and time, but under supervision its safe enough, heck even without supervision the chance is high that the end result is better, then what many pre made machines offer and also would make the market as a hole focus more then now on higher quality production, when your customers are better educated and generally lessen consumer exploitation. Make it be like a drivers license for drivers. Again for some situations its not a feasible option, but wilful ignorance because of simple laziness is something that has to be fought because it is placating people in more and more areas. And building a PC is a good place to start."
