My nails used to look like that years ago. No one would even try to do them so I taught myself and have been doing my own for over 40 years. Thank you!! For your time and patience to do her nails.
You know, many laws prevent technicians from working on broken skin to avoid spread of bacteria and infectious disease OR because of the discomfort it could cause🤷🏽♀️. This client got a great treatment tho💕
As someone who's bit my nails my whole life down to the cuticle I can empathize with her. Having severe anxiety or depression or ptsd can cause you to do this, I didn't even realize I would bite my nails to the point they would bleed but it was something I discovered at a young age as a self soothing method or when I was really bored or stressed and I just didn't care anymore how my nails looked at all and it kind of made sense over all with gaining weight and being too tired or stressed to care. I gave up biting my nails for good a month ago and I've never felt better, I don't get sick as often and I can finally feel feminine when I look at my hands and when I dress up. It's been one of my biggest insecurities about my hands and how gross and unhealthy they looked. To finally take care of yourself and give yourself a chance to get better for more then a day or a week or a month is HUGE to alot of people. I applaud you for the taking the real time and energy and dedication to help her and her nails, they look sleek and beautiful! It may just be nails to some people but to her it could be the start of a journey of self worth and self acceptance. You're amazing!!
How did you stop??I have been trying so hard to and it’s ruining me ,I feel like I can’t scratch or do anything and I have eczema which is hard on me. :(
@@selima0854 i'm pretty sure that's the same person but this is her channel in English; they have the same voice, and this lady even had a Russian accent on her English.

For those saying her client was being very picky and that she can’t take the pain, remember it’s one thing to self inflict pain and another someone else doing that to you. My nails are nowhere near this bad, but I’ve bitten a few ones a little too much and the pain can remain FOR DAYS. One time it hurt for almost 10 days, so I understand that she felt like it was burning. Bitting your nails is pretty much due to anxiety and stress, so imagine: if your nails are like that, how much anxiety she must have! Give her a break!
One day I started magnesium for a severe magnesium deficiency and to my shock I stopped biting my nails!!!! I have been a severe nail biter for decades. Far worse than this video. I'd bite and rip until my nails bled and keep on biting. So anyone reading this who bites their nails give magnesium a try! Magnesium oxide is poorly absorbed so I would not recommend this type. I like magnesium citrate.
Mine look like this. It’s a very bad habit that I’m trying to break. So far, I have both middle finger and ring finger nails up by 3 cm. It’s the longest they’ve ever been. Sometimes if I run out of nail to bite, I’ll bite my skin off my fingers. It is VERY painful. Please give this person some credit for even daring to get them done. Thank you.
Naw they would have just told me “their too short we can’t do them...” so I usually like to do my own nails without the anxiety of adults telling me they can’t do my nails...😔
As a teenager I cured myself of nail biting by learning to manicure and polish my nails. I started with clear polish and as my nails grew out I used colors. I used cuticle cream every night so I wouldn't get those dry skin bits and hangnails that are so tempting to bite or chew.
its been two months since I bit my nails. I hated going to get my nails done, it was embarrassing and painful. I truly wish there were more nail techs like you. Im currently learning how to do my own nails, hoping to get into a better habit of not biting. Thank you for the video! :)
Omg congrats! You done a such a great job . I bit mine jsut yesterday to the point that i couldnt see any cuticles . In class sometimes instead of bitting them i just pull them or scratch them for no reason and they look worse when i use fingers to pull cuticle and that layer which is just above nail .
I started doing my own gel and presson nails a few months ago and I haven't been biting ever since. It's so much work and takes a lot of time, I'm also so proud every time I see that I get better at it, I never would want to destroy it. Good luck on your journey! :)
You don't have to have anxiety to bite your nails. Some people do it as a habit. Like my niece who is 5. She bites her nails and I cant stand it lol I've just recently started doing her manicures and gel polish and she loves it. And she's Definitely stop biting her nails after she sees how beautiful they look with polish.
You can’t just assume you know. That’s rude. Constant playing will give you the hangnails she has and people with hangnails usually bite them same with calluses that’s come from strumming
I was just going to comment that this person has anxiety, I have had several clients with this type of hands. And they all confirmed that its anxiety that makes them pick peel and chew. And turn their nails into these tiny nails with open wounds. I always take extra time with clients like this. I want them to know, its fixable, and its not their fault. But after the process, they walk out feeling like a hand model ! ☺. Love this video hun, thanks for sharing 💜 Mamma ~Dee~.
This is so nice of you to say... thank you:)) I wish more people would be supportive. My family just gets judges and get mad at me for doing it and it literally makes it worse😩
My nails look like this because I have multiple anxiety disorders. It’s nice to see someone that recognizes it and cares. They usually turn me down, or just spend the whole appointment saying “you know this is bad, try harder, you’re gross” now I do my own nails.
@@charliethomlin6434 thanks for the comment. I would treat ur hands, and make u feel like a million bucks hun. I have many clientele who are special needs. And I do my best and feel I have a duty to treat all clients like family. 💜 Mamma ~Dee~
Agreed. You are amazing for working with people like this. My best friend growing up used to bite her nails so bad I started doing her nails bcuz the polish tasted bad she would realize she was doing it. It took us 6 months to grt them long enough for anyone to agree to touch them for her.
I'm going to cry for this girl!! I'm a nail biter. I've got anxiety, I've never broken the habit- I've had enough go wrong in my life that I've never broken the habit. and I'm terrified of the thought of going to nail salons to try to fix them. My nails probably look like hers, maybe even worse. You've made her nails look freakin gorgeous and I'm crying. These look *amazing*.
Coughed Feathers my son is 17 and his like that. This summer I gave him a soak and cuticle cleaning and bought No Bite at sally beauty, he hasn’t picked or bitten in months. We applies it 2x a day
What helped me was a dedicated friend who watched me like a hawk and pulled my fingers away every time she saw them near my mouth. Eventually I started dealing with stress in a different way. If there is somebody you see daily for hours, ask them to guard your fingers. Might work for you, too :) I have not bitten my nails for over a decade now. Only rarely it happens again, but only with my thumb. The other fingers are completely safe :)
I started sculpting nails back in 82. We did this kind of stuff all the time back then and did it the exact same way. That’s phenomenal and I love seeing someone who knows how to sculpt a nail not just glue a tip on
My SIL gets manicures to prevent her from biting and picking. Having the cuticles pushed back and trimmed prevents hang nails. The pretty polish gives her incentive not to bite.
You can do it!!! Have you ever tried to keep a pen cap or something handy to bite when you feel the urge? I have. It has helped especially when I wanted to let them grow for an occasion. Also, I've had to mentally tell myself to take my fingers out of my mouth. I often have to tell young children to do that so it only made sense to do the same to myself. Weird but it definitely helped me. I still get urges but when my nails are full grown, I have less of an urge because I like painting them. 😊
I was a severe nail biter, and I made it! You can do it! I never had a free edge, and two years later I’m painting my nails and growing them out. I liked to do nail growth soaks, but ultimately it was seeing the progress week by week that helped me to keep going. Nails grow fast!
My nails used to look horrible, I had bitten them for several years. Last year I decided that I didn't want to do it anymore. At first it was really hard, but then I found some tricks such as painting my nails every two weeks, so my nails would always be covered, and it would make me feel bad to bite them. When my nails were finally starting to grow long, they were weak and broke pretty easily, I didn't even file them because I was too scared that I would accidentally break them. It has been 5 months since I stopped biting my nails, they are pretty long, I still paint them every two weeks or so because I'm obsessed with nail polish and nail art, I love it more now that I have somewhere to do nail art. Now my nails are long, thick, sometimes I break them, but I file all at the same length and wait for them to grow long again, I just love how my nails look now!! Trust me, they can look much more than just decent again. HOPE MY EXPERIENCE HELPS!!!
Seeing her nails takes me back to when I was an extreme nail biter. Biting to the point of making my fingers bleed. I was so embarrassed to show my hands in public. I once siked myself out so much that I would never find a job or get a boyfriend or progress in life with my hands like this, I took steps to stop. I started by painting my nails and looking after them. When my nails began to grow I was so happy. I eventually stop biting and it's been over 10 years now. My nail bed has extended and hands finally look good.
I got invisalin braces and that has stopped my nail biting. My nailbeds are still rather short (not as short as this video thank goodness) and I have wide beds, but, my nails are starting to finally get a bit of length on them! I started dipping and that has really helped the length as well! Unfortunately I have to keep them on the short side for work, but, I'm okay with that

Not only does she have cuts everywhere, but when you haven’t had a manicure or extensions for a long time, it actually hurts to have your cuticles and nails in general manipulated so much. It takes getting used to.
i wish i knew i could tell my nail tech that i was hurting back when i was getting nail extensions. i end up getting really hurt (a hole filed to the skin) because i didn't want to bother her by saying "hey that hurts"

I used to bite my nails when I was younger. One of my coworkers took me to a salon and I walked away with a beautiful French manicure. I was hooked. I loved it so much that I took a course and learned to do them myself. I now work in the industry, and I love the challenge of bitten nails. I know first hand how having lovely nails can bring back your confidence. I do tend to be conservative with my biter clients, though, and start them out with short nails so that they can "grow into" their length. I find this lessens issues with breaking. Your work is amazing, Anastasia. Fantastic job!

@@thedistinguishedpeasant48 The only thing that stopped me was having my nails done. I think that's why I fell in love with nails so much. Even today if I don't have enhancements on, I will bite one particular nail during times of high stress. That poor finger can't catch a break. lol
I love how you told us that she was feeling a bit of discomfort...sometimes I feel like I’m the only one that goes through that with my clients so it’s good to know that it happens to everyone 🙂thank you for being transparent
Everyone deserves to look good and feel good about themselves. I’m certain that woman felt so much more self confident when she left your salon. Your work was beautiful.
For the people complaining about her being sensitive with pain: I have anxiety, and sometimes I just bite my nail until it bleeds without even realizing. It's not a choice
It’s called onychophagy. It is a choice to a certain extent. My teen daughter struggles with mental illness and will bite at cuticles. We have been pushing them back and grooming them-and applying oil at home. I bite my cuticles too. Nail enhancements help me not to do so.
I stopped biting 3 weeks ago after 22years and my nails are almost at normal length. The confidence boost i got from it was so great, i didnt expect that at all! Much strength to all my nail biters that want to stop. You can do it!
@@mariaeduardasilvaramos118 After 2 Months it looks fine, but its still a bit crooked and the white part of my nail is alot longer than for normal non biters. It was kind of hard at first because i tried to keep it very clean, but it has settled alright now.

I wish there's more nail techs like you who takes clients' reactions into consideration. My cuticles are sensitive af and when i feel pain it usually bleeds right away. I recently got my nails done and the girl who's working on it keeps hurting it and doesn't seem to care.
you should see a new nail tech if that's the case. usually if they start off not listening to your nails, they are most likely not going to change, and it's better for you to find someone who actually cares than to keep giving them your money and time
That's not supposed to happen. I hope you switched to a new nail tech or at least reported her to her boss if she worked in a salon. When studying to be a nail tech, we are taught to always take our clients into consideration. Clients place their trust in us and we are supposed to take care of them to the best of our ability.
I had extremely short and beat up nails when I was 11-13. I was very insecure that others my age had prettier hands. A transformation like this back then would have boosted my confidence a lot. After years of nail oil, trial and error with gel and acrylic I am super happy with my healthy, glittery, nails.
@@thegayestgoth It's one thing to get what you paid for, another to be delusional and have stupid expectations. She wanted longer nails but those are impossible when her nailbed is so small, since she ate it all.
You have the steadinesss of a surgeon and the heart of a mother with your clients. I can tell you really care about helping those with issues that would normally have them exckuded from nail services. As a woman, i know that when i look my best, i feel my best. ❤
I used to have nails just like these when I was a child, bitten to the quick. Every nail salon I went to would roast me and I began to have a phobia about going. It really hurt me as a child to hear that, when I was going to make my nails pretty again. It’s nice to see there are kind people out there that do not judge.
it's really sad. I think they're very unprofessional if they act like this. It's their job to make your nails beautiful, no matter in what condition they are... so don't worry ❤️ have a nice day 😊
I feel that the client was being ungrateful when she said "That's it". I mean you did a great job considering the fact that there was barely any nail to work with.
Maybe that was the client's first time ever having any nail work done and it was overwhelming for her? And too painful? Maybe she had just reached her threshold for the day. 🤷♀️
She was probably Busy because she’s never had no work done before and she didn’t think it was going to take that long but she didn’t have to be so rude
I agree it sounded rude but she may have meant something like that’s it? That’s all it took? Yk idk if that makes sense but ur right it didn’t sound super nice but idk
I know a lot of nail techs that would NOT even touch these hands so congrats to you for having the confidence and patience to do such work. 👏🏼👏🏼 They looked great!
As I understand, I also have this habit since I was a child and even today I can't stop, I have anxiety disorder and nails are always the victims during crises, good work, God bless you
I am really impressed. This is not just designing nails, but an actual health problem. There is a risk of infection etc, and you seem very aware of it. My daughter was a nail biter since she was a pre teen, and no matter what we did, it did not help. She started at a nail designer at age 18 (she is now 24) and it reduced her nail biting a lot, even tho she don’t wear acrylic nails all the time. And btw, biting nails can be a kind of OCD and might need other treatment.
Ooooh, my! I am a nail designer as well and working with bitten nails is a differential of my technique. I simply LOVE these transformations and I must say watching your video was so pleasant to me! I mean, I can feel here how much care and kindness were involved in your moves! My clients always praise me for my light touch on her nails and hands, because they are kinda traumatized by unkindly touches they are used to receive in ordinary nail salons (in fact, most of them don’t even accept this type of nails!). We all know onicofagy is not treated by nail extensions, but they can have so many benefits from this work! I mean: you encourage people not to hurt themselves (because it is not just a matter of choice! Nail biters can’t stop biting simply by their own sometimes) and give them self-esteem back! For sure there are some hurts and wound that would never eeever be covered by any kind on layer, but I am complete pro for nail extensions on bitten nails. I have so many successful stories in my work that I decided to keep it as a goal, you know? Helping nail biters is the main focus of my work, along with natural look nails. Thank you for this precious video 💓
Rain Snow they do not grow quicker. The nail bed is very short naturally and shorter even due to the biting. When you apply nail enhancements on very short nail beds, the more new nail that grows, it will be a larger portion of the whole nail bed which will look as if it needs an infill. In contrast, it takes months for a nail to grow back for someone with very long nail beds and looks like a smaller portion so people with longer nail beds can get away with less frequent infills :)
OMG i cannot tell you how happy this video made me im on the brink of tears. I have had severe anxiety, depression, ocd and ADHD for most of my life, and it caused me to bite my nails really agressivly. @@tyler439 with getting nails done I mean acrylics because for me with how pretty they were I didn't want to bite them and i couldnt because they were of course not like my real nail and couldnt bite it. What also helped is distracting myself with a pen or something to fidget with when I'm nervous because that's why I started biting them, if none works then you can try something that is for nail biters that when you put on your nail and try to bite it tastes so bad you don't wanna bite your nail
Great job. Watching you do her cuticle work was so satisfying. I would love you to post more videos like this. I wish she had a bit more time to have some colour added etc. An update on her nails would be nice to.
Very cute video. Enjoyed seeing the improvements with my son lol. A tip: she should rub mustardoil and wear disposable powderless gloves as much as possible on top of that. I have very dry hands and it helps me out. Wintergloves helped me stop thumbsucking. And powderless gloves helped my son stop nailbiting.
I’m glad she understands to be gentle. I’m a nail biter, and when I went to a nail salon, they just treated my nails like healthier nails, and it hurt. More importantly, some of it really stung me. A lot of the time, I don’t have wounds around my nails, and the nail artist is who ends up making new wounds.
OMG Anastasia! This is a MIRACULOUS transformation!!!!! From the custom nail bit you created for this client, all the cuticle care, the work you put into the extensions ... just... WOW! Bravo! You are amazing! Thank you for sharing 😊👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼😍
With the amount of biting she does, this is as good as a first treatment will look. Great job! Hopefully she won't bite, crack or break them, but she might, just out of nervous habit. If they survive they will get better and better each new treatment. Would love to see a followup on this one. I used to bite, technically I still do when my nails are natural, but having them professionally done has saved my hands. I used to hide my hands when ever I was in public and biting really hurts!
i’ve been biting my nails since before I could remember because of my anxiety. have been doing acrylic nails for the last 6 years (since it stopped me from doing so) but finally made the decision to let my natural nails breathe and start my journey to healthy, natural nails. i’ve been fighting the urge to bite my nails and today I just did my first gel manicure! It’s possible! For all those who are trying to stop the habit of nail biting, you got this!!!!
OzonatedOil I’ve chewed my nails since I was really young. For me it’s due to severe anxiety and annoyance with them once they reach a certain length. Although lately I’ve reduced my chewing to one hand in an attempt to break the habit and grow my nails.😂 Having something in your mouth helps reduce anxiety because it’s the “if I’m in danger, why am I eating?” mindset. And not everyone has the ability or willingness to carry a manicure kit with them at all times, so when breaks occur or the nails get annoying, they get chewed back to comfort.
Yeah I'm not going to lie. I probably would have turned her away, especially on sensitive clients like these where there is just too much work to do and not enough time to tiptoe around every little snip or file. Hands down to you QUEEN 👑
aj johnson some people ( like me) have really bad anxiety and it fucks us up so we go and bite our nails, we want to have pretty nails too, that’s not fair for people to turn us away just because you don’t want to put in a little work, that’s not fair to us and it’s not something we can get over so quickly, although my nails aren’t sensitive doesn’t mean you should turn away people who do have sensitive nails, even though we’re paying for you to do our nails. If we get our nails done then that takes away the fact we have anxiety or bitten nails. Because instead of looking at our nails that make us depressed and sad, we look at nails that make us feel better and that makes us forget that under that acrylic is short bitten nails. Sorry I just get upset easily
@@kate.-.8099 wintergloves helped me stop thumsucking. Powderless disposable gloves helped my son stop nailbiting. Meditation in particular can help us keep still and relax. I do it too a few times a day 5 minutes. Its a good break from the daily hassles. Big hugs
@@kate.-.8099 I suffer from really bad anxiety even though I don't bite my nails at all. I had acrylics done a few times from a professional I now like to do it my self. But it's really sad that some people turn others down because of situations like this ik it's not easy to do nails on someone like that and it can get frustrating.
Kate .-. It is fair because honestly you make the work on the technician extremely hard, especially for those who haven’t been trained in it. You guys are also more prone to lifting and breaking and many will come back to us and blame us for that happening. It’s also not recommended to put any length on nails like this because they are just more likely to break with barely anything to hold on to. It’s not unfair it’s them trying to follow all the protocols when 1) they usually don’t have notice before hand that your nails are bitten 2) they don’t want the blame if they break because you want length 3) they would rather not see you at all than do a bad job. If you have bad nails that’s on you not your nail tech
She’s right about weak nails tho! You feel the burning if the person working on your nails presses to hard, you legit feel a hot burning sensation on ur nail bed :( ouch.
I did my first acrylic set on someone besides myself today. Going into it I didn’t know they had bitten nails, and they were pretty severely bitten. I think I did ok, but now I’m watching as many videos as I can on bitten nails so I can do it better next time. I’m excited to try again with the new techniques I’m learning :)
I’m so self conscious about my hands. I wish I could find someone like you who isn’t judge-mental about nail biters to do this for me. It would be a huge confidence boost.
I used to bite my nails a lot, little by little I’ve helped myself to avoid it (still not in the best length). By getting my nails done I realize how beautiful healthy nails are. It has helped me through my nail biting and I trully believe it helps many others with the same problem as well. Very kind and professional from you to take a chance on this difficult task, I’m sure your client loved them!
I’ve been biting my nails for as long as I can remember. It’s a real struggle for me to stop; I’d stop for some weeks, my nails would grow and look better, then I’d find myself chewing on them again - usually if I’m thinking deeply or I’m worried about something. I’m over 30, and I’m really ashamed of the way my nails look. I’m hoping getting gel or acrylic nails will help me kick the habit for good.
I've bitten my nails also for over 20 years. First I got gel overlay but it didn't really help, because they were too long and Ive just bitten the overlay, which hurts as hell. But then I found a workshop how to do nails and it really helped to make them my own. Because I needed 2-3 hors to get on hand done I would've dare to bite. Now I'm quite fast, 30-60 minutes to get a handy ready. And they are strong, healthy and as good lokking as I want them to be.
a small tip from me: try bitter nail polish and use an app called "I am sober" to track your progress, its helped me with nail-biting and I feel its a good app
Wow, you truly are an absolute talent. Such care and love goes into your work and it really shows. I hope your clients know how honoured they are to have you work on them. You are an inspiration to anyone learning your skill.
I can attest to massive anxiety that drives nail biting. For some reason having my nails done regularly helps a bunch. But if I go too long between fills and there are any snags - cuticles especially - it seems I go "ham" on them and will eventually lift/pick off the nail. I am so grateful to my current nail tech who has NEVER admonished me about me picking at my nails. On the other hand, I've been to salons where the tech is so judgmental (and rough) that I'd never go back. Thanks for this video!!
You can't spent too much time in one spot - the friction causes hot spots. I've found it's best to keep the tool moving or take small breaks, even on slow speeds
this is so refreshing to watch. as a former nail biter turned nail picker (lol), I do it because of anxiety. but as of now due to the pandemic, I'm trying to form the habit to stop as I'm not working so I'm not stressed/anxious. so far, I'm going on to my 2nd week of not picking my nails. wish me luck! takes a month to break a habit!

I really enjoyed this video, I’ve seen video’s and post complaining about clients with extremely short nails and it’s so disappointing. I myself bite my nails extremely short due to anxiety. Anastasia you’ve done a great job, I had a client with nails like this it was a very challenging task for me because I’ve never worked on a client with nails in this condition I was so afraid because it was a lot but I did a nice clean up trim & short semi square set using nail forms, it’s been 6 months on & if you saw that client now? You would never believe her nails were in this state, now she has nice nails she looks after her hands & even uses hand cream to love her hands, these nails you’ve done? are really beautiful & the video very informative, I bet this lady was super pleased with her beautiful set of nails? Great job Anastasia I love them👍🏽💞💗💝💖💕💓🥰🥰🥰
Really nice job on these nails. It is definitely a transformation! I hope she can handle getting used to this much length when she is used to bitten nails. Great job!
you get used to it! it's hard to type or do anything with long nails but in the long run you find how to accommodate to those things and it is not an issue
I feel like when I do my nails really long they may feel weird and awkward for a day or two, but then I get used to them. When I remove them to do a new set, they feel so bizarre when they are short!
When you were filing, I was blowing the dust away, literally. 😂 Whenever you have customers like these, it is better to start with a cuticle softener, many clients who have such cuticles, hurt when you file their cuticle area. Great transformation!
Miri Kira I was wondering why the nail artist didn’t soak her fingers before working on them. I’m not a professional so I’m genuinely curious to know the reason. What an amazing transformation!
@@melanieckelly it is a question of preference, but these types of customers can easily bleed when cutting off excess skin if they have tiny vessels in that skin. I prefer using a cuticle remover, push back, then clean with a bit and so on. But most cuticle removers today, also have ingredients that can facilitate lifting ( like oils) , I ask people to wash their hands thoroughly and then wipe with pure acetone. But I am sure that she took into consideration everything and decided what was best, because the transformation was very good. And she had some rough nails to work on. But the skin removal was the most satisfying.
Miri Kira As a chronic cuticle picker, I disagree. When the cuticles are softened and moisturized prior to trimming, it is a lot easier to accidentally take off too much. When the cuticle is dry like in the video, the tech can see exactly where the dead skin is. I’ve been on the customer end in both scenarios. Cuticle softener, or any hand cream with gentle chemical exfoliants, can really worsen the upward peeling of the cuticle skin as well.
You are incredible. I am so happy I found you. You are the most knowledgeable professional nail expert I’ve ever seen. Thank you for all of your content it’s such valuable information.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who likes this type of work. To me, it's more of a restoration, rather than enhancements

Yup
Preach ♥️
One day I started magnesium for a severe magnesium deficiency and to my shock I stopped biting my nails!!!! I have been a severe nail biter for decades. Far worse than this video. I'd bite and rip until my nails bled and keep on biting. So anyone reading this who bites their nails give magnesium a try! Magnesium oxide is poorly absorbed so I would not recommend this type. I like magnesium citrate.
@@ScarlettDuchess what is that exactly??
Mine look like this. It’s a very bad habit that I’m trying to break. So far, I have both middle finger and ring finger nails up by 3 cm. It’s the longest they’ve ever been. Sometimes if I run out of nail to bite, I’ll bite my skin off my fingers. It is VERY painful. Please give this person some credit for even daring to get them done. Thank you.

These are the hands of someone with anxiety. Not guitar playing or hard work. Great fix, I hope this woman feels better
That’s what I was thinking. Anxiety sucks, I’m a picker not a nibble though.
Yeah definitely not from playing guitar
You don't have to have anxiety to bite your nails. Some people do it as a habit. Like my niece who is 5. She bites her nails and I cant stand it lol I've just recently started doing her manicures and gel polish and she loves it. And she's Definitely stop biting her nails after she sees how beautiful they look with polish.
You can’t just assume you know. That’s rude. Constant playing will give you the hangnails she has and people with hangnails usually bite them same with calluses that’s come from strumming
Those are kids hands lol no joke
I was just going to comment that this person has anxiety, I have had several clients with this type of hands. And they all confirmed that its anxiety that makes them pick peel and chew. And turn their nails into these tiny nails with open wounds. I always take extra time with clients like this. I want them to know, its fixable, and its not their fault. But after the process, they walk out feeling like a hand model ! ☺. Love this video hun, thanks for sharing 💜 Mamma ~Dee~.

As someone who is a severe nail biter, this gives me hope that my nails can look decent again.

My nail bed has extended and hands finally look good.
good job! hopefully i can keep my no biting streak too!
Did it become the way a normal nail is?
Where you old when you stopped? I mean, were you still a teenager? I'm very worried that they will never look normal...
How long did it take your nail bed to grow again?
I got invisalin braces and that has stopped my nail biting. My nailbeds are still rather short (not as short as this video thank goodness) and I have wide beds, but, my nails are starting to finally get a bit of length on them! I started dipping and that has really helped the length as well! Unfortunately I have to keep them on the short side for work, but, I'm okay with that
For people saying “why she complaining about the pain” … everyone has a different pain threshold, leave her to express herself ….
Also, having very short nails HURTS

I used to bite my nails when I was younger. One of my coworkers took me to a salon and I walked away with a beautiful French manicure. I was hooked. I loved it so much that I took a course and learned to do them myself. I now work in the industry, and I love the challenge of bitten nails. I know first hand how having lovely nails can bring back your confidence. I do tend to be conservative with my biter clients, though, and start them out with short nails so that they can "grow into" their length. I find this lessens issues with breaking. Didn't know that. Interesting! Thanks.
why would the damage done to it make the growth cycle any quicker? makes no sense!

What also helped is distracting myself with a pen or something to fidget with when I'm nervous because that's why I started biting them, if none works then you can try something that is for nail biters that when you put on your nail and try to bite it tastes so bad you don't wanna bite your nail
PLS TRY AGAIN, I had the same situation as u, it feels so nice to actually have nails, tryyyy!!!
need to talk about hydrating and nourishing the whole hand too
🤣 for though
I was thinking the samething like cuticle oil would've taken it up another notch plus it would've aided in healing
Why am I watching this? I’m not a nail tech or get my nails done often..... props to keeping people entertained 👏
Thank you for sharing not only your talent but again your compassion and empathic nature. I hope the client was pleased. Great job 👏🏽👏🏽
Great job. Watching you do her cuticle work was so satisfying. I would love you to post more videos like this. I wish she had a bit more time to have some colour added etc. An update on her nails would be nice to.
I'd love to see if it helps her grow out the natural nail
Very cute video. Enjoyed seeing the improvements with my son lol. A tip: she should rub mustardoil and wear disposable powderless gloves as much as possible on top of that. I have very dry hands and it helps me out. Wintergloves helped me stop thumbsucking. And powderless gloves helped my son stop nailbiting.
I wish I could find a nail tech artist this gentle and careful
I’m glad she understands to be gentle. I’m a nail biter, and when I went to a nail salon, they just treated my nails like healthier nails, and it hurt. More importantly, some of it really stung me. A lot of the time, I don’t have wounds around my nails, and the nail artist is who ends up making new wounds.
That is some UNBELIEVABLY great CRAFTSMANSHIP!
Experience, patience, compassion and confidence. Excellent.
OMG Anastasia! This is a MIRACULOUS transformation!!!!! From the custom nail bit you created for this client, all the cuticle care, the work you put into the extensions ... just... WOW! Bravo! You are amazing! Thank you for sharing 😊👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼😍
It’s images and videos like this that encouraged me to stop biting my nails. I bit them for 15 years but I stopped about 1 year ago!!
Congrats!
How....bt I can't 😑
Howwwww plzzzzz tell meeee plzzzzz I'll be very thankful 🥺🥺
@@zainabfatima4876 try putting on nail polish; it makes the nail harder and harder to bite

Me after the very video:
I should stop biting my nails
*Aaliyah* hey
Anahlia
I was very scared after watching this and I was like "I will not bite my nails ever"
But after 5mins
"I will stop biting from tomorrow 😂😂😂"

I don't get any people who bite nails, i have never in my life even thought about doing it
OzonatedOil I’ve chewed my nails since I was really young.
I mean if you’re so sensitive, it didn’t hurt when you were munching on your nails? Or even let it go that bad with all the cuts and hang nails?
aj johnson some people ( like me) have really bad anxiety and it fucks us up so we go and bite our nails, we want to have pretty nails too, that’s not fair for people to turn us away just because you don’t want to put in a little work, that’s not fair to us and it’s not something we can get over so quickly, although my nails aren’t sensitive doesn’t mean you should turn away people who do have sensitive nails, even though we’re paying for you to do our nails.
And I use them as a manicure during dishes: rub mustardoil on hands then wear gloves. Hope this can help you as well. Also try meditation? Or a new hobby or skill. To change the habit.
Even though it hurt at times I never told her because I didn't want to be annoying(because of my anxiety).
I know! That's the worst!!
The mark of a professional! I am so impressed. I didn't realize how much work goes into this. Thank you for sharing
Always get a pic of their hands beforehand 😅surprises waste time
I’m so self conscious about my hands. I wish I could find someone like you who isn’t judge-mental about nail biters to do this for me. It would be a huge confidence boost.
That was a miracle transformation! Wow! So impressive!
This def looks like a young girl's hand it's beautiful that you put this much effort to keep her comfortable
That girl should be forever grateful for such work. That was incredible work.
I have the same problem
How i did it was not wash my hands for a week.... you see how gross it is and then stop
@@hiyoko4434 My Mum tried getting me to use bitter nail polish when I was little... I just ended up sucking it off tho :/
Wow, you truly are an absolute talent. Such care and love goes into your work and it really shows. I hope your clients know how honoured they are to have you work on them. You are an inspiration to anyone learning your skill.
You definitely get 10 stars for this job I know how challenging those types of nails can be. You ROCK sister.
Absolutely beautiful! Exactly how I'd love mine to look, huge fan of almond shaped nails🥰 You did a wonderful job!
You got this! trust me you will feel so good when you succeed
Omg same I’m on my 4th week now so we must have stopped at roughly the same time 😊good luck keep it up 👍

And, how are you doing? :) did it work? Love from germany:)

or anything that covers your fingers. because the first 2 weeks are def the hardest, and if you've bitten/picked nails as long as I have (20+ years), half the time you don't even realize you're doing it until you're actually doing it! it looks kinda ridiculous if you wear them outside, but that's why the pandemic was the perfect opportunity to try them
also, massage your nails with oil at least every night (like olive or jojoba oil). they'll help them stay strong and grow faster :)
I really enjoyed this video, I’ve seen video’s and post complaining about clients with extremely short nails and it’s so disappointing. I myself bite my nails extremely short due to anxiety. Whenever I want to get them done to lift some self esteem and not have to be so embarrassed when others look at nails, I get so nervous of how the nail tech will react or say. I’m also learning how to do nails just for that reason and I really appreciate how understanding and positive you were.
Anastasia they are absolutely beautiful. Your such a professional. I hope I can only get half as good as you .... Your nails should be put in museums they are that perfect. Love your channel. ❤
These look like my partners fingers. He's a anxious nail bitter and when I soak his fingers to move the cuticle he says it's painful and it hurts the entire 15 minutes I'm cleaning his nails .
AwwwSweetieDarling When you bite your nails your brain literally ignores the pain. It’s the same for most other BFRBs (Body Focused Repetitive Behaviors) and self-harming. Nail biting is more than just a habit.
@@bonhll8070 strange? I was also a nail biter growing up due to some issues at home and I would nibble to the core.
Nails don't have nerve endings. Nail-biting doesn't hurt at all. Cuticles are skin...
Nail tech here: after soaking his nails in warm water for 10 minutes, if there are no cuts, you can use a product called Blue Cross cuticle remover. It will soften the dead skin making pushing almost unnecessary. You can buy it on Amazon. Best wishes

I'm getting my nails done soon and I'm so thankful for it because I bite my nails and it has become a bad habit - but having fake nails put on, it prevents me from biting when I'm anxious or worried.
Had simillar nails to these about 4 months ago for a year. I've stopped biting my nails now (started in January) and my nails are at a decent length, cuticles fine, nails clean (haven't went to a shop) I'm happy with the client's outcome and also my experience :)
I remember when my grandma put lemon juice on my nails so I would stop biting them. It worked.
I do try not to laughs with myself where if I laugh I drink lemon juice for no reason, and now I like lemon juice..
My mom bought me a special bitter nail polish for nail biters. It was pain in the ass when i wanted to eat something, and didn't work anyway cause I sucked my finger tips until the bitter taste was gone and i could bite again. I stopped biting when i started to do manicure and didn't want to ruin it.

You would never believe her nails were in this state, now she has nice nails she looks after her hands & even uses hand cream to love her hands, these nails you’ve done? are really beautiful & the video very informative, I bet this lady was super pleased with her beautiful set of nails? That was very satisfying to watch. The transformation was awesome! So much patience and time.👍👏
Love the nails but as a short nails girl i feel the lady attached to the nails will feel handicapped for a while.
She asked for them to be longer
She will manage lol
you get used to it! it's hard to type or do anything with long nails but in the long run you find how to accommodate to those things and it is not an issue
@@christinabibikova9705 oh yes, It would be hard for me to type with short nails, because my nails are pretty long
I feel like when I do my nails really long they may feel weird and awkward for a day or two, but then I get used to them. When I remove them to do a new set, they feel so bizarre when they are short!
You get used to them! I find I have adapted different ways of using my fingers because I have long acrylics
I was blowing too. 😂
Melanie Kelly my guess is that she didn’t want to use any possibly irritating chemicals that would get on the cuts that she had.
