My E-06 issue turned out to be a fuel issue. The heater would switch on and run properly for about 5 mins or more then display E-06 and shut down. I pulled it apart and checked the fan was free and the sensor was spaced correctly and that was all fine. So after reading somewhere that the issue may be fuel related I checked the fuel pump and filter and noticed that the fuel filter was lower on the intake than the output side (angled downwards) and the line was lower on that side for a 6 inches or so. I cable tied it up so the line was now pretty much horizontal and its been working perfectly ever since. It apparently doesnt take much for these impulse pumps to not work and the agitation of the diesel can create air bubbles in the fuel line. Anyway what ever the issue is its now fixed (its been giving me grief for a while). So its worth checking this if this video doesn't resolve the problem. Cheers
That actually didnt fix it in the long run. I replaced the pump with a slightly better one a few of months ago and now it's fixed properly. They are such a cheap crappy pump!
I had an E-6 Error. The fan had moved too far AWAY from the control box which has a sensor to detect the magnets in the back of the fan so it knows how fast it is spinning. I got a socket and tapped the fan IN looking at the intake end so it moved towards the control box. Needs to be about 1mm but not touching or rubbing. That fixed the problem. Thanks for the good advice!
I bought two units 9 days ago. One worked perfectly straight out of the box. The other one did its best to start up but to no avail. I heard the fan stoating to spin but aftershave 2 seconds it die down and error E6 came up. Openend the unit up and inderdaad the gap behind the rotor was a bit wide. So like you a pushed it a bit closer to the sensor. No result, still E6. Then I decided to take the rotor off completely. And then I found out that there was only 1 magnet in it! Now I have ordered some new magnets. They'll probably come in the day after tomorrow. I'll keep you informed if the proble is fixed!
You saved my ass good sir. I had upgraded my controller and board but kept getting the E6 error. The board was 180 out when mounted... swung it around so that pick up saw the motor and bazinga
For anyone still looking to fix this issue, I tried to get the fan as close as possible but it never worked or turned out. The problem was in the fan being warped where it does not allow the magnets to get as close as they are supposed to be. The fix is to grind of the side of the fan so that the 2 magnets are slighty exposed allowing to bring it closer to the pickup signal on the motherboard. Also important is after this code has shown up once it will keep happening untill it makes a good cycle, so take your remote out and rotate the fan so one of the magnets is close to the pickup signal on the motherboard (small black pin) turn it on with the remote, doesnt spin? try the other magnet. the magnet has to be EXTREMELY close to it, so make sure to get as little of a gap between the magnet and the pickup signal. Do not keep turning it off and on, once the heater makes a good cycle the fan will start spinning regardless of wheter the magnet is in the right place or not. If you do not do it this way the code will keep popping up.
Thanks... that is what I experienced as well... it can fail in both of these scenarios, too close too far. ...and they also are delivered with crappy bearings! Don't see a way to get to the motor without some special tools or build a tool.
Yes good video, mine kept cutting out on start up after changing the glow plug and defuser, i found putting the defuser in the freezer helps it fit better, after all that i realised my exhaust was blocked
Mine has a similar problem. But only when turning off. Normally the fan will spin for a while to cool off, but mine fan stops spinning what results in frying the motherboard. One I had the whole car full of white smoke and an awful plastic burned smell. Opens it up, and couldn't find an issue so I let it run without the casing and the same happend again. After a few more tests it didn't do it again. Hopefully it was just something random
@@Diyman43 fan was rubbing against the outer casing off the motherboard. Took the heater apart, gave the axle of the fan a few small tabs with a hammer and That solved the issue. Few weeks ago I took it apart and saw that the inner fan was burned also. Replaced it and works fine! Keep in mind, the fan should have a spacing of aprox the thickness of a business card from the motherboard
Did this with mine chapped the fan closer to the mother board about 1mm away from it was working a lot better, but unfortunately the E06 came back after few hrs
What little sensor? My Vevor one seems to be sensorless. I don't see any sensor and I stripped it down a couple of times. I cannot see anything wrong with this motor if I connect it to 12v power it goes perfectly with no problem.yet the heater gives E06 every time and then tells me to have a good journey in German now. The three button LCD switch must be the worst designed one that ever came out of China. The heater worked when I did not need it and as soon as winter came it went off.
UPDATE 18.06.24 THE REASON FOR THIS PROBLEM MAYBE DUE TO OLD DIESEL FROM AN OLD JERRY CAN POURED INTO NEW MACHINE, NOT THE HEATER ITSELF. THO I'LL NEVER KNOW FOR SURE, THIS COULD BE WHY IT NEVER WORKED FOR ME >> "Just installed one of these Chinese Diesel heaters brand new out of the box and it died instantly with ERROR 06. Literally not managed to get it working and its all over. Spent 2 days installing it, and now looking at spending a 3rd day ripping the whole unit back out again. I now notice lots of people complaining about this very same issue here on TH-cam, the dam heater never worked, and must of been broken when it left the factory. Tried all the fixes here on TH-cam and nothing works. Nada. How this translates into "good value for money" I do not know".
He was pointing to it, the black sensor that the magnet on the fan passes by, i gave it its official name hall effect sensor. Magnet sensor it could be called, as the magnet sweeps past nearby this should give a small pulse signal at the other end.
Replied twice that seems to be deleted an I am getting youtube violations for spam deceptive practices. I have no idea if it for this post, but all the best to you and I hope you fix it from a Mech Tech.
Did u ever figure out how to fix urs? My E-06 fan doesn’t rub ON ANYTHING until I depress the ON button at which point I hear a click, but when I spin it by hand again….THEN and ONLY THEN can I hear something rubbing. As if depressing the ON button brings it closer to something that rubs. Really strange! Thx
I undone the Alan key screw and just move the master board forward or back a touch little bit then done it backup...it all works ... The sensor on the board wasn't close enough to the fan And kept shutting the fan off
Mine is still stuck on error 06, adjusted air gap, replaced motor brushes (mine were worn down to the wire in only 2 months), when I hit start button, theres a click, fan starts, “on” flashes, another click, error 06, error code 06, stops. Not sure what try next, any help is appreciated
Hello Mark, that's exactly what mine was doing. When you say air gap, do you mean the gap between the two round magnets, if you do the gap should ideally be no more than 1 to 1.5mm. And the fan not rubbing anywhere on the casing. Didn't know you can get the brushes, 2 months that's not good?
@@stephenlangham5329 You can buy bearings or brushes, or both together. And yes, I think 2 months is premature for brushes. I think last time I checked I had the air gap at .025” with feeler gauge
Hey Mark, just installed my Chinese diesel heater and I'm getting the same error code E 06. I'll try it tomorrow with the fan and see what happens. Thanks guys
@@brownbunny2513 another thing I tried was pushing okay and down button same time, the fan would roll up and the pump would kick on, but it stays on so one needs to hit off button promptly, or I’m sure fuel will start pouring out
I found a weird one on that code. Every time i put the heater into place it threw this fault up, then the exhaust fell off and it worked. I went to reconnect it and it sparked and went to fault again. I run mine off leisure batteries. Wondering if i should take the ground to the starting battery.
Sorry Peter, cant help on that one. So long as both earth and positive are on the same battery, it shouldn't make any difference if your using a leasure battery or a starter battery.
I will say one thing when it fails a code 6 the fumes will choke you!!!!!!! They come out of the burner intake hose. That hose should be outside of heated area. As a result in shop it tripped a combustible fume sensor off resulting in a fire alarm.
I just had to switch the controller from 24v to 12v. I dont know why it switched to 24v out of nowhere but it took me a week and a complete disasembly and trying of new spare parts to find that out. Hope it helps someone :)

🎉 Very clear description of the problem. And really clever of you to have found the proposed solution. Most useful. Thanks for sharing. 👏🌿
Glad it was helpful!
Thank you Stephen, solved my problem, fan not close enough to the sensor. Result :)
Thank you,I had my sensor squished, you saved me a headache
Exactly what it was. I was able to get the fan to turn. What ever it was bumping on wore away. It works pretty good.

Any chance you could explain my heater code it shows Ie65 thanks Barry
Thx I just cleaned off the magnet and sensors tried to bring them closer together and that seemed to work. Thx.
The fact the fan moves does this mean it happens a lot sliding on the shaft that it doesn’t lock in?
Thank you
can I used Diesel Fuel, Supplement/Cetane Boost in my heater fuel to make it burn cleaner , keep it cleaner?
Tried all that solved mine by putting different control panel on then switched bk to faulty one and worked ?
You can replace the bearings with good quality SKF bearings for £7.

Get it replaced!
Its a hall effect sensor it tells the brains that the fan is running and in some cases speed.
Where is this located on it?
He was pointing to it, the black sensor that the magnet on the fan passes by, i gave it its official name hall effect sensor. Magnet sensor it could be called, as the magnet sweeps past nearby this should give a small pulse signal at the other end.
