Overflow is not known of causing sensor failure! Age caused deterioration, corrosion or sediment buildup, electrical or wiring related problems and contaminated coolant are known to cause sensor failure.
On my 2004 Yukon XL, thindicatore engine would occasionally stumble or miss briefly, then return to running normally. When it stumdled, the temperature gauge would also drop significantly, then come back to normal. It would occasionally drop less noticably without the engine missing. The guage dropping (70-100 degrees it a second, then bounce right back) was the indicator that it was the sensor. The computer would attempt to adjust and the engine would miss. Swapped the sensor ($12), problem solved.
My car overheats in traffic only, is this because of this sensor? My car is normal when driving on highway, it only overheats when stopped or climbing. I noticed delay in starting fans timing, but they are running faster.
@@miandaniyalkhan open the bonnet and in front of radiator you have fans. They have 1 electrical connector. Disconnect it and spray well with contact spray. Then connect back together. Thats all
Test the ECT sensor. Remove it and clean it. Use an ohm meter to read the resistance. Then, get a hair dryer and add heat to it. The resistance should start dropping. If it doesn't, replace it.
Hi there. My opel astra twinport 2007. I check the error code and it is P1217. Is this the same problem. Also can you tell me where exually is it located please.
Sorry about that! We have made another video with human voice . Here is the link to the video if you would like to have a look at it th-cam.com/video/rNC3FfOUuqw/w-d-xo.html
I love how you listed the CEL light 5th... thank you, my 4.0 did all this stuff for weeks. FINALLY threw code 0118.
Now it all makes sense 😅
Great to hear!
Amazing video, I have learned a lot.
Keep putting amazing videos like this out here.
Amazing? Bruh it was made by ai. Mediocre at best.
Good job.
Good general information. It would be good to have a follow up video on how to test voltage output of a temp sensor with an ohm meter.
Great suggestion! Thank you very much!
And how many Ohm should be that ?
You saved me 16 minutes
Great job. I prefer this video to be divided into two parts. I already pressed both buttons.
Awesome, thank you!
Great video
Very good information. And very interesting.
Thank you very much!
Thanks you very much.
MUCHAS gracias, es el mejor tutorial de información,... Gracias.
Im not a qualified professional but i know im going to replace it tomorrow after work. Luckily it looks easy to replace on 2006 toyota scion xa.
Good luck!
Thanks for your explanation
You are welcome!
Great video, can overflowing reservoir bottle can be caused by faulty sensor. Already replaced rad cap and thermostat. thx

Lets play a drinking game. Take a shot every time the voice says coolant tempature sensor. 🤣
hahahaha! Let's do that!
Excellent explanation thank you
You are welcome!
Awsome beautiful info😮😮😮😮😮
Glad you think so!
Good video you help me thank you ☺️
Glad to hear that!
Do I just bolt another one in or do I put some thread lock on as a sealant or ptfe tape.
Or does the new one go in as is?
Just torque it to spec
New sensors typically have sealant pre-applied. Otherwise use tefon or pipe dope.
Thank u it helped slot
Glad it helped

Thank you very much for sharing your wonderful experience! Glad to hear that you have it corrected! Well done!

Clean the radiator fan connector contacts with contact spray. I had the same problem.
@@joesaric1 I am sorry, i didnt understand. Can you explain briefly?

@ thank you, i will update.
Exllent, good job
Thank you very much!
I have a question. I live here in Philippines, my car always stays in 104 C when its traffic ( 2-3 hours a day). This means air and fuel ratio lean???
Could be! Lean combustion can cause engine overheating among other things! That is assuming the temperature gauge is working properly!
Could this make my p0135 02 sensor light pop up? I changed the upstream and engine light is still on

Could it cause my 2002 Buick century fans not to come on
Am not sure about your specific vehicle, but on some models bad engine coolant temperature sensor can prevent the cooling fan to run properly.

what engine ?
10 dollar part 400 for someone to change it 😂😂😂😂🎉do it yourself is so much better
Why can't I screw the new or old sensor back in I ran a yep it went in double check it's rite part
You used a 'TAP'? The threads on these are commonly NPT. Pipe threading.
GREAT GREAT VIDEO VERY HEPFUL 😮
Glad you think so!
?
Very good job mate you now your job mate 😂😢😮😅
Thank you very much!
Thank you robot voice
Hi can this sensor cause the car not to revving?
That's very vehicle specific. Depends on how "smart" the ECU is. Best to ask in a forum specific to your vehicle.
Tanks ❤🎉
You're welcome 😊
Great
Thank you very much!
this did not do me one bit of good.
Really sorry to hear that! What can we do to help?
You people have no respect for robots smh so sad
What up
AI voicing sucks....

Get used to it Pal... How's that black and white TV working for you ?
YOU FORGOT TO MENTION THE FACT THAT THE SENSOR CAN ALSO BE DAMAGED BY THE EXPLOSION OF A ATOMIC BUMB
?
An atomic bomb
KEEP IT SIMPLY ANYTHING THAT CAN DISTROY ANY ANY ITAM CAN DO THE SAME TOO A SENSOR ! HELLO DAH !!!...
?
NO ONE REALLY KNOWS A GOTT DAM THING !!!....
