Probably the only issue on the list that the car owner can actually do something about, is dry start (little or no oil still left on the parts until the oil pump finally gets oil to the parts) While probably not a solution for everybody, there are kits available with which you can pre-oil your engine before a cold start. This kit consists of a mount, an electric oil pump to be installed externally, and several feet of hose plus the various switches and relays required to operate it all. A pre-oiler is plumbed into the engine's oil system, (usually via the oil filter mounting). Once it's installed, you then simply press a button under the dash. The electric pump then circulates oil through the system under pressure to your rings and bearings et. al., with the touch of a button.
