Keep it simple! Lots of cool solutions. At what point did they look at each other and say WTF are we doing? It seems like the lead engineer may have a big ego. He/She and the company must have a toxic culture that does not accept critical feedback.
Do the shareholders know how much bigger their dividends would be if they had gone with a non-idiotic design? And do they have the power to force a change?
Attention BRP! Nobody wants this! Go back to the drawing board and try harder. One more thing...fire that idiot engineer that has held Evinrude back for the last 20 years
20 years? I think it stretches a lil farther than that.... Cuppo examples Evinrude sea drive OMC stringer outdrives absolute over-engineered JUNK, that Techs didn't even wanna touch. Evinrude 9.5 turtle, when they run good they are OK, but pita to work on And more......
I don’t know what they’re smoking in college up there in Canada but us 20 something down here in Texas be building 60 hp out of 35 Evinrude blocks, BRP needs to come holler at us
Don’t forget- They say it only needs to be serviced every 500 hours or 5 years however; they only warranty it for 3 years! What does that tell you. Another e-tech situation brewing! Run!!!😢
This has to be the worst idea I’ve ever heard. What kind of CEO blows off experienced engineers when they say it’s not going to work and then hires on young inexperienced kids to head a project of that magnitude??? They need to clean house starting at the top! Great video as always Andy👍🏼
All other outboard manufacturers: reverse engineering- take something that works apart and see if we can make it better BRP: reverse engineering-take something that works and see if we can make it not work The only elevation problems were how high the CEO and engineers were when making this project a plan!!!
I'm not super knowledgeable about the whole evinrude/brp dynamic, but at the very least I feel like they had some good ideas even if some of them weren't very reliable. I think they were ahead of the game on design appearance and I thought the integrated steering was a great move forward.
All other outboard manufacturers... "If it ain't broke don't fix it." BRP Engineers "If it ain't broke then you haven't tweaked it enough. Send it to us and we will remedy that."
It’s not uncommon now for these young engineers or even older engineers to be designing things they care nothing about. They just view it as a job. No interest about what they are doing required.
Please share this video with anyone and everyone who's involved in the boating world. We all work too damn hard for our money to go out and buy one of these.
🤷 well at least they called you, even tho they know you're going talk how bad the idea is. You can barely get mercury on the phone for any useful help.
BRP board of directors needs to be relieved of their duties. This decision should have consequences, those consequences being forcing BRP into bankruptcy where they can bring back Evenrude to their former glory.
@@rimike82 instead of creating this trash underboard, why they didn't try to create a 2strokes outboard with a valve train like 4strokes, they won't even need oil to be injected, so it is a win/win. Mazda did it, but for cars only, but we know Almost nothing on it and they don't launch the engine on a car or anything else
That motors junk, they should have brought back a evinrude 4 stroke. It would have done great, but no, we r stuck with this POS. At least it's not electric and when water would get in, everything touching the water will have a bad day. Thanks BRP
The worst part is that BRP will do the same thing they did with Johnson and Harley did with Buell. They will shelve the names and not allow anyone to purchase them and restart the brands!
Water intrusion detection system: pre-recorded announcement sounds off when water is detected inside your engine. “Warning, Warning - your engine if fucked”!
I'm assuming the "bucket" is pressurized... if pressure is lost that means water is coming in. or they could have just put the cowl out of the water.... why didn't they just do an inboard/outboard if they wanted a flat deck at the stern
BRP only wanted the ETEC technology. It was maybe 5 years after they got it, it showed up on just about every Ski Doo made since 08/09. I have a G2 150 on my Alumacraft and love it. Previous outboard was an 83 Evinrude 50 which still runs. The Evinrude I knew and loved is dead, never to return...
A G2 150 is a in-line 3 correct? Did it have a ton of nanny systems if you got water in your gear case. My issue with a E tech remember your old OMC The dang lines on the new ones you couldn’t see the engine
I live in the UK and saw your vids a few weeks ago such an hilarious way to put over info keep it up, as far as outboards go if it ain't broke don't fix it.
Evinrude project ghost, was talked about before BRP killed the brand, was shown to stock holders, and dealers for manitou, and alumacraft. This thing is the G2 115-140-150 3 cylinder that was released just before the brand was killed, so it has very little time on the water. I'd post pics, but youtube won't let me
Sell the Evinrude name to engineers who wear real pants! The name of the first manufactured outboard and the the name of the world record outboard speed record is dead. Come on, who in thier right mind would think consumers would want to buy a product from a company that killed that name and tried to reintroduce this garbage. Time to trade the Ski Doo for a Polaris
Unfortunately, Evinrude and Johnson died when OMC went under, and a French-Canadian company bought them out. I hate that because I grew up on Johnson and Evinrudes. When BRP started moving away from OMC's designs to their own, that's when they died imo. BRP products appear high-tech and ahead of the game, but they are well known for their lack of reliability and service life. Evinrude could no longer be taken seriously as an outboard because of BRP
When is the Ceo going to get called on the carpet? I saw this same thing happen in the automotive industry. It used to be the newbie engineers would come in every two to three years and they would design in the faults and problems that the senior engineers had just finished correcting. He would let the newbies run their course and then before they could damage a project He would step in an say stop, We tried that years ago, here is the report now go back and start again. So here we are with a Ceo. who has no idea what the Boaters want and it looks like there is no one to say stop!
This thing makes me want to dry heave!! Imagine the poor employees at the upcoming boat shows are going have to wear bags on there heads when working the booth. And take the walk of shame everyday walking to the brp booth. Think of the heckling they are going to get! You will have to come to Mpls boat show next year and set up a booth across from brp and do this live
I deal with BRP on the watercraft side. My impression is that they just play the numbers game and just don’t care. They bank on uneducated consumers buying their products simply based on the cool factor. Consumers who are without any knowledge or foresight for the problems that are going to arise. I’m just a small business owner but I just don’t know how any of their decisions are sustainable in the long term. I guess time will tell. I enjoyed the video and am now a new subscriber 👍🏼
How TF are they gonna sell these??? They can only go on brp owned boats ( probably due to reinforcing the transom for this monstrosity). Way to limit the options BRP
As a regular commenter and detractor when you speak ill of my beloved Evinrude it pains me to say it but you guys were RIGHT. I for one was excited about the inline 3 G2 only for it to be cut before it really hit the market. I'm excited its a 2 stroke but the excitement ended there, what a complete failure. I hang my head in shame and any hopes of an Evinrude revival are gone. When my Johnson 200 dies I guess I go Japanese with a repower. I watched the Alumnacraft reveal and Mr. Heintz had to get the crowd to clap when it was shown.
Overall it's such a damn disappointment! We weren't E-TEC or G2 fans but dammit we would have rather had a G3 or a G2.2. Regardless if he would have hated it or not we would have rather seen that for you Evinrude guys than this POS.

Hahaha One of your best videos ever. Wish I could have liked it more than once. Watched it before going to work. Great start to my day. Thanks from Canada
You got me saying speed money to no brakes where are the shirts?? Lol
Being printed as we type! Coming very soon!
The reason they call it the "bucket" is because that's what you're going to kick once the thing springs a leak and dies. . . .
HAHAHAHA!!!!!
They engineered a lot of interesting solutions to problems that shouldn’t exist.
Exactly!!!
Oh fuk ya!! Added a bunch of components that aren't needed if the engine was above the water line!!
Keep it simple! Lots of cool solutions. At what point did they look at each other and say WTF are we doing? It seems like the lead engineer may have a big ego. He/She and the company must have a toxic culture that does not accept critical feedback.

it's called a ghost, not because of quietness, but because it will disappear just that fast
Hahahaha yesss!!!
I HOPE THIS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The salt water is going to kill that motor!!!! Because the salt water here in VA has killed the rotex

This will be the biggest flop ever! BRP CEO is just as much at fault as the ding-bat lead engineer
We certainly hope that both of them are held accountable in their own ways
I heard the lead engineer was the CEO's nephew
@@usmcdrifter8759 ha hope that's true

Worse than FICHT
That is Quebec. Same province that only hires French speaking coaches for their NHL hockey team, not the best coach possible.

Team Marine TV checking in!
Hey buddy!
You guys are awesome!
What's stupid is that Rotax has an engine that is 3 cylinder 4 stroke 1000cc that is capable of 200hp
The 3cyl in the PWC and Switch makes 170hp naturally aspirated and 300 with the blower.
Please share this video with anyone and everyone who's involved in the boating world. We all work too damn hard for our money to go out and buy one of these.
Calm down Andy, this is personal for him. They're not that bad. Let them sort things out and recover. It's gonna get MUCH better.
My question is if dealers don't want to deal with BRP does that mean getting parts for our G2 or any other g1 evinrudes going to be harder?
Did you not see the ad with couple dancing on the pontoon with a guy on the back playing a violin?
Me as a boat guy but not an outboard guy this was quite possibly the funniest shit I've seen in 10 years
I Agree BRPs worst Idea and design ever.
Team marine and Andy is awesome !! Keep up the great content!!
I swear BRP never heard of not trying to fix something that isn’t broken
I'm halfway through this and I cannot believe that BRP is actually going to produce this. "That's what we need, some claps."
Ahhhaha... just laughed my ass off when you were talking about the 34 seconds to get on plane
Glad i found this channel subscribed!
Welcome aboard!
So, let's say I wrap a line in the prop. How do I reach it if I can't be on the back deck? Does it come with a scuba kit?
LMAO. The part with trimming it up in the back deck 🤣😂🤣😂

It's truly disappointing! We hope this video allows Jose to respond and clear the air.

Truth is more overall torque is made with 2 strokes

What a disappointment of a company! Seriously considering selling my Can-Am

10 minutes in and I'm laughing my ass off at Timmy being ejected off the back deck 🤣
Andy, can you do an update and tell us if any of these POS have been sold??? I am telling everyone that I know to stay away from them.
They are out there. a follower of our who's a tech had one in with 2 hours on it. blown steering line
Yea they should stick to PWCs lol and leave this to Yamaha , Suzuki and Mercury 😂
It may flip over but at least the motor will stay dry lmao.
how long before the first lawsuit for the first person to get hurt when they fall off the back deck when it gets raised
Are there any actual pictures of this disaster in existence anywhere? Id like to just see what this looks like
Yes, you can refer to the internet or our last video on this topic
Ummm.....Rotax never had a good name!
Ok... the Timmy thing was hilarious. 😅🤣
Is all of BRP from California ? No more gas vehicles and no big H.P. Outboards LOL ☺️
Maybe the best Andy vid yet. See ya!
Love this guy!!!!!!

In August! There is no way in 2022 any manufacturer could think anything about this is a real idea.
