Whoever started making these sexy costumes is a complete jerk. Like that one guy said, Halloween is COLD. I live in Michigan and it's usually around 15-30 degrees Fahrenheit. NOT WARM. And I get the same costumes someone in Florida would get. Finding a costume that doesn't show off your boobs or butt is nearly impossible now and not many people have time to make one either. Someone needs to make some GOOD costumes... Edit: Another thing I'd like to add is that in my area, there are almost no thrift shops or other stores like that in my area. Anything they have is complete and utter crap - filled with tears and stains to the point where it should be thrown away. That, and how expensive fabric is, makes it nearly impossibly to make a decent costume :/ I know, people think I'm a whiner because I'm not flexible to make things work, and I guess I agree. But our society is messed up and it takes a lot to make those small changes among a big group of people. Like marionette costume (FNAF) black shirt and pants stripes just peaces of paper buttons are pretty easy to sew on pipe cleaners make great fingers but can cut off circulation if you're not careful and mask. You can do this with pretty much everything buying something from a store is boring to me, making a costume is way more fun!🙂

Ya back when i was in middle school (being female) i wanted to dress up for Halloween because even though i was (according to my parents) to old to trick or treat, we still gave out candy and i always volunteered. but every year i had to wear a sweater and pants cuz A) it was cold and B) in the Halloween stores there were only costumes for lil kids and the sexy costume aisle and i could never find anything. so high school comes around and it was the last year we were handing out candy because parents didnt want to do it anymore. I went to look for high school age costumes....all were sexy. So ya i was very frustrated and i didn't have the ability or the money to afford normal(online) or make it myself. By god though the slutty outfits from my classmates i saw that year....scarred for life...

To be honest, I've always thought those were about as demeaning to men as they are to women. Sure, they're objectifying, and they are basically saying that women exist for sex appeal alone, but the fact that they exist implies that someone out there thinks that I think that as well, and that's just insulting to my intelligence. Like I'm some dumb primate that can't value women beyond "OOH SEXY."
I hate that women are seen this way, and I hate that men are seen as people who INVARIABLY see women this way. I don't. I respect women for their intelligence. Come on, culture. Can I have some fucking recognition here?

Ya back when i was in middle school (being female) i wanted to dress up for Halloween because even though i was (according to my parents) to old to trick or treat, we still gave out candy and i always volunteered. but every year i had to wear a sweater and pants cuz A) it was cold and B) in the Halloween stores there were only costumes for lil kids and the sexy costume aisle and i could never find anything. so high school comes around and it was the last year we were handing out candy because parents didnt want to do it anymore. I went to look for high school age costumes....all were sexy. So ya i was very frustrated and i didn't have the ability or the money to afford normal(online) or make it myself. By god though the slutty outfits from my classmates i saw that year....scarred for life...
