Yeah! Especially since waist position really matters. I kept wondering if they were wearing the corset with the waist where their waists are, or higher, where a woman's waist would be. If they were wearing them high then the discomfort and difficulty breathing makes perfect sense, and if they were wearing them lower, then the difficulty sitting and "digging into my groin" as I believe Ned said, make sense.

I mean, they _had_ corsets for men back then. Some men would actually wear corsets to reduce or hide their pot bellies lol. Also, DO NOT wear corsets on BARE SKIN. But yeah. All corsets were was structured undergarments used for support like bras. They're not supposed to be painful or breath-restricting.
So that's why. when in the past, when a lady drop something, the man takes it and give it to the lady, because it's hard to do squats for the ladies who are wearing corset.
As a corset wearer, squatting isn't an issue, it's leaning over, the corset does nothing to the leg movement. Instead, bending over, OH DAMN. You have no back movement outside of perfectly straight. You drop something and don't have someone to pick it up for you, you squat or cry.

If you have a busk down the front then it is almost impossible to bend over straight, but if there is just boning and no busk the bones will allow some bending movement as there needs to be that movement to let the ribcage move and breathe.

I'm 4'10, but also have a 23 inch waist. Someone once tied me up (or down?) to 20 inches. I felt like a cartoon character when I looked in the mirror! Seeing as you are taller but just as slim, you might feel REALLY disoriented looking at a 3 inch cinch. Thankfully you don't have to cinch as much.
