The eyes are in between too big and just above too small Im an artist and I cant seem to draw the lenses
I cant seem to identify the fabric,the logo without the suit behind it looks bigger then it actually is and the webbing has just the smallest contrast making it pop like the comics.the other suits having no contrast or pop and is sometimes hard to see at a distance. The suits webbing is also complex without being overly complex.
I think i just figured it out This suit was designed with the comics in mind. Not necessarily how it looks and just copying it but trying to make the same impact to the world around it.

It’s great and all but the Insomniac suit is way better. And more believable. Still it wouldn’t be so irritating if the entitled, virgin, men children would shut up. That suit barely looks any different from the starting suit. But if the bitches would wait for a sequel where the character would start with the Insomniac suit, it would make sense to add it to a game that doesn’t already have 2 versions of the standard suit.

I loved the Raimi Trilogy as a kid but I like Tom better. But I agree with you all here. The scenes were made almost perfectly.

I still find Spiderman 3 entertaining despite its obvious flaws. But, Spider-Man 1 and 2 are the best Spider-Man movies ever made.

Into the Spider verse is probably the best Spider-man movie. Along with Spider-man 2. Nothing else is even close.
There are many flaws that kinda bug me like the amount of villains in the movie, Eddie Brock's weird personality change cause of being caught by Peter for plagiarism, Venom not being developed enough, etc., etc. But it's still a decent film. If they were to completely remove Venom entirely and focus on Sandman, Harry, and seeing Peter trying to find Uncle Ben's killer, this would improve the movie by a ton!
To me personally what makes Sam Raimi's suit so special was because it reminds me of my happy childhood,when I used to watch Spider-Man Trilogy along with my family.

Or maybe it’s just cuz it was the first cinematic Spider-Man suit and it looked really good. People always refer back to this suit as a what a perfect Spider-Man suit should be because it was done first and done right. Also it looks like Spider-Man in his prime , it’s not young or old Spider-Man. It’s literally just THE Spider-Man.
At the end of the day, Spiderman PS4 is a massive tribute to Spiderman and Spiderman fans. If they left out the Raimi suit, it would be a disservice to Sam Raimi. Not only that, but his version of the character and his world has been missed by fans, so bringing the suit into the game is a great way to keep that version of the character alive, despite his trilogy ending over a decade ago.

I love the fact that it looks like a couple of spidey artists. Especially the lighter blue in the second film. The whole body shape, where the red fits on the blue, the more angular eyes all look like john romita's spidey art! With mixtures of steve ditko, gil kane and more modern stuff.

Even now, unlocking the different suits in the PS4 Spider-man, Raimi's is still the best designed. Truest to the character while being improved over the original. No simple task.

It’s so good that TASM 2 copied the suit but gave it different eyes. It’s so good that the MCU has yet to create a suit that can challenge it.
The quality, colors, and the creative spin is what makes it absolutely iconic.

I really love and miss the 2004 version of the Raimi Spidey suit. I love that design way better than the 2002 model. The 2004 model Raimi design gives Spider-Man an extra layer of depth to the way he’s always looked in the comics and it’s a very subtle improvement to the suit from the first movie. The color scheme on the 2004 Raimi suit are less muted and a lot more brighter and vibrant (bright cherry-red and navy blue), the eye lenses are a lot smaller, angry, fierce and determined looking, the web patterns are less messy, they’re straighter, larger and more metallic and silver, the spider emblems are enlarged and more iconic with more elegant lines, and there’s webbing on the palms of his gloves, which are an amazing addition. Also, the much bulkier and bolder muscle definition works wonders in making Spidey look physically stronger throughout the trilogy. It really makes him look like an adult superhero than when he first started.
Literally everything about the Raimi suit is just absolutely pitch perfect! James Acheson and Paul Spadone are badasses! 🤩

Honestly I think it’s really quite simple. That suit represents the first time Spider-Man was depicted in live-action, not only in the modern era, but specifically, when technology had evolved far enough to make what was once only possible for Spider-Man to do in animation or comics, suddenly come to life on the big screen in all his super-powered, acrobatic, web-slinging glory.
The impact of that cannot be overstated. It was utterly transformative. It was a turning point in film, a technological milestone, a cultural event and more, all in one.
It was a dream come true for generations of people, myself included, and that kind of thing tends to stick with you, so certainly there’s a degree of nostalgia as well, and there’s nothing wrong with that.
Ultimately though, this suit is a symbol of so much to so many, and its engrained in the zeitgeist unlike just about any other “costume,” except perhaps Darth Vader.

Specifically regarding the design/aesthetics, that’s where it became something special.
Things which were only possible in the realm of imagination were suddenly possible in photorealistic form, and for legions upon legions of fans, that suit became THE Spider-Man suit.
From the books and cartoons, we never really knew how the webbing would look in “real life,” and we merely assumed they were drawn on because they were literally drawn on in the media we had available.
(The 70’s live action tv show was a guilty pleasure, but it’s not as though it stands up, and with the exception of a few Nicholas Hammond fans, it’s hardly anyone’s definitive Spider-Man)
We had no real context for what the suit would look like and feel like, and that raised webbing, and texture throughout brought Spider-Man closer to life, by quite a margin, than anyone had ever seen.
What would Spider-Man look like in reality? We finally knew.
And it was glorious!!!
After generations of fans had already fallen in love with one of the most iconic characters in the world, they were now given a serious, big budget, blockbuster film which also just so happened to be awesome.
But what do I know....

The heroic costume plus the heroic music made by Danny Elfman makes it even more epic
This is the perfect superhero costume. Not only is it nostalgic and I associate so many great memories with it, but it's just great in general. The entire trilogy was nearly perfect and this suit is no exception.
The suit is so good because it had a more realistic approach about what spidey would look like in real life by toning down the comic stuff, specifically not having big round eyes but still sticking to the comic version’s red and blue pattern.
It just takes out all the “goofy” looking elements seen in comics and changes it to what would look better in real life.
TASM1 had the same approach but the alterations were overdone to the point where it drifted too far off the comic suits.
This is the best spider Man for me from the character to the suit for me this makes me smile

Unlike the comics where the suit is a simple red and blue unitard, Tobey Maguire's suit boasted a raised webbing design. This added detail that made the costume pop and feel real. Furthermore, the almost metallic lenses on the mask gave off a serious vibe, contrasting Spider-Man's lighthearted demeanor.
One thing about the suit- Peter didn't make it.
Once he beat Bonesaw, a guy who was obliterated by the guy before wanted to pay Pete back for doing it. So he had his brother make a costume for Peter, it was supposed to be a wrestling suit but Peter used it for being a hero.
In Spider-Man 2, the newly designed suit is just an alternate version made by the same professional.

I grew up on the Raimi trilogy and while I agree that 1&2 are still the best Spider-Man movies to date, I also feel like y’all need to stop shitting on anything that’s not them. Every cinematic portrayal of Spider-Man is respectable in its own way and I personally enjoy each one for different reasons. The original was ahead of its time in just about everything that it did. TASM brought a bit more flare to the character. The homecoming series seems to be bringing the smaller scale villains to light. Now personally the homecoming suit is my favorite but the Raimi suit is a VERY close second. My point is you can be very fond of the original trilogy without trashing everything that comes after. That’s just my opinion though.

Sam Raimi's Spider-man trilogy got me hooked on the superheroes especially Spidey himself. The suit has a very good color scheme, the spider symbol at the back is badass, and the silver webbing and eyes gives the cool look. I read somewhere that the reason for the silver lining of webbing of the suit is that the lighting in the movie is not that good and if they used the classic black lining for the webbing of the suit, it won't look to good for the cinema. The fact that it looked beautiful and the movies aged well means that the decision for the suit worked. Damn, I miss Tobey's Spidey already.

Sam Raimi’s Spider-Man meant a lot to me back in the day, and even now I can still be reminded of why I love it so much. I’m hoping that same magic can be captured in No Way Home with Tobey’s Spider-Man. And I also hope Tobey can be given his classic suit we’ve all come to know and love.

My answer: nostalgia, nothing to do with it, It's simply the most comic accurate. Literally the only difference is the white webbing and more realistic spider logo. Why can't the modern movies just go with the classic design. Tom hallands has different shoulder patterns and didn't even create it himself. Andrew Garfields has different patterns as well but looks too CGI in TASM 2. And Tom Hollands home made suit looks like he found it in the trash and painted it red and blue. You can argue all you want about it being more realistic for a teenager to create the iconic costume, but plenty of youtubers can prove you wrong as there are plenty of great homemade spidey outfits.

I love the Raimi films, but I’ve never been a particular fan of the suit. I don’t hate it, just don’t really love it either. It’s iconic, but I just never thought it got the “feel” of the comics’ suit down, especially with the obvious lack of web-shooters. I know I’m in the minority, but I honestly preferred the TASM suit. As much as I don’t really like the MCU, Spidey’s suit is great-probably the best we’ve gotten- but they CGI him so much (they digitally remove all wrinkles and such to make it appear as tight as possible) that he ends up looking like a cutscene character in most scenes, even when just stationary and not soaring through the air. Also, it’s all Stark tech, which, with one exception, was all designed by Tony. Even still, MCU Peter is way smarter than other portrayals have made him, that, too, I’ll give Disney.
At least the original trilogy had 2/3. Amazing Spider-Man had 1/2. :3c

The suit from the 1st Amazing was just weird - totally different pattern and looked more like it was made from scales and Fruit Rollups.
The only thing I hated about the Raimi/Webb Spidey-outfits was that the eyes never emote,
it makes Spidey look dead on the outside.
Everytime I picture Spider-Man in my mind it’s always tobey and the raimi suit that pops up.

4) Tobey Maguire played the role well.
5) the soundtrack was just awesome.
6) the suit got damaged and even got venom variant. The suit was also changing.
That’s the thing that people don’t know the three suits are different if you put the three movie suits side by side you’ll see the Major but small differences
Because the Raimi Spiderman movies are cult classics. The first one almost single handedly saved the comic book movie industry, it was the first big screen interpretation of Spiderman, it released at the start of a new century, and many of us grew up on this Spiderman. Almost everyone who loves the raimi suit is now in their 20s or 30s, so we have a big voice. We are the voices who keep this suit and movies' memories alive. The suit definitely doesn't have all classic aesthetics, the spider emblems are pointed and more modern, and the web lining is silver instead of black. However, these changes are not at all a big deal, because it works perfectly. I actually didn't notice how different the suit was until a couple of years ago. As kids, when we saw the movies, we said "OH MY GOD SPIDERMAN". We knew who it was, we didnt care about his costume's chanfes as he was easily identifiable with us. Because of our memories with the movies and Tobey as Spiderman as children, we psychologically associate this suit as the default Spiderman look, as it takes us back to happier times when we were kids and Spiderman was our hero. To us, the movies left such an impact, that this is the suit we associate Spiderman as his default look. That's why we love it so much. Its nostalgia and pure love for the movies that make this suit such a gem. It's not one of my personal favorite suits, but it definitely has a place in my heart for giving me memories

Seeing Raimi’s suit with the brick patterned background and elevated webbing just gave it an amazing upgrade. An upgrade a teen male couldn’t make in his room; but still.

Ideally, he should wipe the floor with Rey. But they made Rey invincible. Rey could probably kill Yoda and Mace Windu at the same time. I mean she kicked Luke's ass. And Luke was supposed to be the most powerful jedi who ever lived.
The raimi suit does have nostalgia for me but i actually just love the look of the fucking suits its sooo clean

Pros to the suit:
- Worked with ALL movies, even overshadowed Tom & Andrew in NWH. ( Even tho they kinda screwed it up in some shots. )
- Intimidating, masculine & serious look.
- Attention to detail ison point.
- Unlike most 2000s attires like The Matrix style, Daredevil & X-Men suits it still looks stylish in 2020s
- Heroic & epic.
It makes sense. The raised webbing is like armor.

The Raimi Spidey suit is a thing of beauty. Still the greatest SM suit of all imo👌
It's special because of the movies it was in as well as the character of which it belongs to. The raimi movies had the most iconic version of Peter Parker. the only reason it isn't still being used is because Tobey was the only one who can perfect the look of that suit. Same with Andrew and Tom's suits. Tom Holland is the most similar to the comics while Tobey was more like the ultimate Spiderman. Andrew was always the more dark and edgy Spiderman. My personal favorite Spiderman has always been Josh Keaton from the spectacular Spiderman. It's just how you believe Peter Parker is supposed to be. My favorite live action Spiderman is Tobey Maguire.

Raimi didn't get "booted" by Sony. They went to him and said do you want to do a spider-man 4? They had already been planning for him to say no, and if he did, they would reboot. So they rebooted, because he said no. The actors were growing tired of their characters and wanted to move on. They became hard to work with apparently. Raimi CHOSE not to do a spiderman 4.
