For your information:
If anyone is interested, the FX507ZI4 "Officially" is said to support up to 32 GB DDR4 (2x 16 GB Sticks). I tried 64 GB DDR4 (2x32 GB Sticks) and it works w/o any problems at all.
The Aluminum Tape got damaged in the process of removing the Sticks, so I left it off. No issues because of that. 👌
I also replaced the 1 TB WD SSD over to a faster 2 TB Samsung 990 Pro. I kept the Aluminum cover on it, which simply slides off, and onto the other SSD.
No issues of any kind.
Hey man i just bought the 4070 ryzen 9 one and mate told me to get a m.2 2280 ssd but i read it only takes 2230 size ssd, do you know by any chance now you have one, if it can take the 2280? cheers
Hey thanks for the info...i recently bought tuf f15 2023 edition so I had a question..can you tell me the limit of upgrading the storage ..like how much can it support ...for example can it support 4tb ssd or not?...also can you explain the whole version of the 2th ssd you installed... it'll help a lot
Wait why did you replace it instead of using the free slot?
The procedure of prying the bottom lid open should always be included. Doing that in a wrong way damages the laptop. So this video is kind of useless.
I know its old video just wanted to say , I upgraded my TUF F15 2023. The website mentions it uses 4800 DDR5 RAM, however when took the cooling pad sticker from the original RAM from the laptop it is Samsung 5600. I believe ASUS designed to down clock the RAM clock speed. I moved the drive from left to right side slot this way the WiFi card gets extra cooling space.
Btw the screws on the cover aren't all the same, I think there are 2 long screws some a little bit shorter, i didn't notice when I was unscrewing it now idk where they go, can you help?
For anyone in the future wondering about this, the 2 long screws are the middle ones, on the side the monitor is attached.

Where is the cmos battery?
Hola ! En otro video has desmontado otro FX507 y tiene 1 caloducto menos , que diferencia de modelo hai ?
I have the ASUS TUF F15 2023 i7 12700H AND RTX 4070, I am thinking of buying 2 WD SN850X 4TB SSDs since I work with heavy files in 6k and 8k video editing. Do you think that those 2 SSDs that I mentioned are compatible and that you can place them without problems?
Ssd is made in Malaysia
is it possible to remove the silver cover from the original ram stick?
if you upgrade it, do you loose thw warranty?? is it possible to upgrade by just opening the little window?
No, unless you remove the cooling system
Hi man, interesting teardown. Just one question: I'm about to buy an Asus tuf f15 fx507zv4 and I need to know if that on the right is an empy SSD slot
I, owning a Tuf F15 FX507ZV4, can confirm that it indeed is an empty m.2 gen4 compatible slot.
Does it support gen 3 also?
Is fx507zv4 and FX507ZV-LP094W different or are they the same model?
@@05-abhishekbhoir50 same question , 512 gb ssd is not enough for me did you upgrade successfully?
Will support Gen 3. Will just run at Gen 3 speeds@@vitalik1030
Hello, Kingston FURY Renegade 1TB Solid State Drive (PCIe 4.0, NVMe M.2) works for the laptop?
Do I need a heatsink before I install another m.2 ssd?
Hello, is this the same disassembly procedure for Asus TUF A16 Advantage Edition? Thanks for this video.
I got the same one
How to screw it back
Does the back panel having cooling pads for the second M.2?
no. if you suspect your m.2 might get hot and if it does not come with a heatsink attached to it, i would advice you to go for a heatsink. but of course, go for the silicon and maybe a copper plate heatsink for effective heat desipation.
Can we have a Wifi 6e card installation video on this same laptop please
I have FX507ZV does this support another SSD?
Where is the bios battery?
Bro fr I can’t find it
It's possible put a m2 with heatsink??
I don’t know maybe wd black or crucial intergrated heatsink will fit
what type pf SSD did you used 2280 ? answer and comments or at least put the details in description ..........jeeeez
Can you tell if the ram is 1Rx8 or 1rx16 ?
both slots are occupied with 8gigs of ddr4 3200MHz (or ddr5 rams varies by country)
please tell me if this computer is suitable for programs such as Lumion
Archicad
Autocad
Revit
It definitely is. Those programs even work well on my old laptop that has about half the performance as this one does.
Now of only you could swap the cpu
Is it possible to apply liquid metal thermal paste in this laptop.can u please reply me as soon as possible
Dies i losse warranty if i open the laptop?
I have the same question :)
yes , If you need to upgrade something without losing your warranty, let the store do it or send it to the company's customer service
You don’t lose the warranty, the laptop is designed to be opened by the user so that the user can easily upgrade it. However, don’t disassemble any parts on the inside. Removing the heatsink kills the warranty
so is it possible to add another m2?
yes
What was the specification of the laptop?
Intel i7-12700H CPU (Intel 12th Gen) 14 Total Cores, 6 Performance Cores, 8 Efficient-cores, 20 Total Threads, w/a Max Turbo Frequency of 4.70 GHz, w/a 24 MB Smart Cache
Intel Iris Xe Graphics
Nvidia GeForce 4070 Graphics
1 TB WD M.2 2280 SSD
16 GB DDR4 (2x 8 GB Sticks) - Upgradeable, (Officially) up to 32 GB DDR4 (2x 16 GB Sticks); (Unofficially) 64 GB (2x 32 DDR4 Sticks) appears to work.
Does it supports for HDD?
no, there's no slot for it
can we upgrade the ram to DDR5?
2023 version already ships with ddr5 sodimm ram installed
@@Naxxx.110 well it does vary by country. in india it ships with ddr4 8*2gigs 3200MHz rams.
For example FX507ZV4 ships with DDR4 slots on the motherboard. While the 12700H in itself could indeed controll a DDR5 implementation too up to 4800, without the motherboard's support it wont happen.
By the way DDR4-3200 CL18-22 was a wise choice from ASUS because DDR5-4800 CL40 actually gave inferior performance in some games and equivalent in others while DDR5 was(and still is) much more costly than a DDR4. Considering this is their affordable Gaming series so price increase was not a viable tactic, money was simply better spent elsewhere like on the CPU/GPU or the screen. DDR5 was simply way too underdevelopped in january for the price they asked for it.
@@smeeem7385 that depends if it's the old model. Ddr4 one has more rugged kinda screen lid & palmrest around keyboard. Ddr5 - comes on 2023 tuf versions - more simpler screen lid & palmrest. Also newer ones has touchpad lt & rt click buttons integrated within. Old ones had seperate buttons visible outside. Regardless of country - Old cpus will have ddr4, new ones ddr5. New ones have dolby audio support & perhaps better airflow/bottom vents.
compared with dell g16 i7 2023 and asus tuf f15 i9 2023 both with rtx 4050 which is better? like performance and also cooling
Can i upgrade laptop asus tuf f15 fx507 to ddr5 5200 mhz?
No, the laptop only supports ddr4-dimm
crucial website says it can do ddr5....
my fx507 has 56wh battery :(
Does ASUS TUF Gaming F15 Intel Core i7-12700H 12th Gen FX507ZV-LP094W support DDR5 4800mhz 16x2 32GB Ram?
i also have the same question but i don't think they support as the the socket is different for ddr 5 ram
While 12700H is equipped with DDR5 capable MMU too, the motherboard only implements the DDR4 slots. DDR5 while might look very similar, has a different a pinout so unless there are separate DDR5 slots, its not possible.
@@kiyahalheybhai269 it support ddr4 only due to the socket.
this is not a disassembly.... you just removed the back cover -_-
not really showing how to use the so-called captive screww to lift the case makes this video useless
Can I use a SSD with metal cover?
