    for the laptop cooler, id say for anyone looking to buy one. check your thermals and weather your laptop is thermal throttling. if it's getting too hot 90-100c. get a laptop stand or cooler. if you want a guaranteed cooler, spend on a quality one like the IETS GT500, many reviews and it drops your temps by 5-15c. but generally, i think if you want to improve how long you'll be able to use your laptop, i'd say get one and just use it to keep your laptop cool at all times because heat can effect the laptop's shelf life. great video so far! all great tips.

      you don't need a cooler; if your laptop is overheating chances are that its a hardware issue or dust/faultyfan or thermal paste ran dry. a cooler is putting a band aid over a severed limb.

      @@AedanBlackheart Its not a fault, its the nature of owning a laptop. That's why laptop coolers exist.. No matter what gaming laptop you have the CPU and GPU will be throttled or undervolted to help manage heat. You can't expect a 1 inch thick laptop (no matter the brand) to adequately cool a high end cpu and gpu. Adding anything to help with the cooling (including a laptop cooler) will help keep it from reaching the throttle threshold.

    I had to find out the hard way, that you can activate 'ultimate' mode, that newer models have, which basically activates the dGPU at all times, by using a display port to usb c adapter. Asus made it really weird, the HDMI port does not connect to the dGPU, which means it goes through the iGPU first, and bottlenecks in the process. plugging the usb c port for your external monitor, you bypass optimus and activate the dGPU, gain more FPS and gain access to the nvidia control panel 'display' tab.

    Undervolting is great for thermals too. Personally I freak out when either the cpu or gpu goes above 80 degrees. I was even having thermal throtling whith certain games (gpu throttles at 87° and cpu at 90°) but after undervolting I rarerly go above 85. I am almost all the time between 70 and 80 in both gpu and cpu (and I don't use cooler, just a regular stand made with two books pilled up 😅). And it is really good for thr laptop longevity too. So I do recommend unvervolting, 100%

      @@Slimiz I did as a matter of fact. I saved up the money I got for Christmas, work and from the government. My bro and I helped each other out towards our goals. I went with my laptop first as that was obviously more expensive. It was probably the most expensive purchase I ever made in my entire online shopping history and on Amazon in general where I picked it up. It was those demo units I saw at Best Buy and London Drugs which piqued my interest during holiday shopping. My laptop then came 5 days after my birthday (6 after the day of purchase, call it a late birthday gift if you will) while I was sick and I’ve been using it regularly for emulation/retro gaming and Steam gaming (but my PS5 remains my main gaming machine) as well as Doujin games and loving it. Awesome design and excellent build quality. After that, I helped my bro save up to get his new iPhone. It was only fair that I returned the favour. It wasn’t a brand new iPhone as that was more expensive. He wanted to save money by getting a used one off of Best Buy’s online store. His came at the end of the month. But now he’s saving up money to get himself a new laptop which won’t be the same as mine.

    If you're experiencing low FPS with the ASUS TUF gaming series, it's most likely a software issue. Try to update your drivers. Make sure to clean your laptop and have the correct settings. Turn off unnecessary services, background apps, and pause Windows Update when gaming. Junk files and other issues can limit laptop performance use a third-party cleaner to remove them. Low frame rates can also be caused by overheating. Purchase a laptop stand with holes beneath and a vacuum cooler. Not only does the vacuum cooler assist us keep our laptop clean, but it can also suck dust that has entered our laptop.

    • @hermezx
      @hermezx  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

    I dont know why is nobody talking about undervolting your laptop... if you really wanna be a heavy gamer on a laptop its almost necessary to undervolt your GPU and CPU to avoid thermal throttling- that doesn´t necessary mean that you will have lower performance, its actually the opposite... If you find the stable and proper power curve for your GPU and CPU, it runs cooler and in most cases it has actually same or even slightly better performance because it doesn´t thermal throttle :) Tried it by myself on my Acer Nitro 5 and results are amazing. My GPU went from maximum 76 degrees to 66 degrees while having the same performance and CPU went from 95 degrees spikes to maximum of 80 degrees while under 100% load and if I am just playing games, CPU is hovering between 70 to 75 degrees with Undervolt (yes probably CPU speed is little bit lower because of lowered maximum turbo boost but it doesn´t affect gaming performance you won´t notice in games).
    Its amazing what it can do :) Anybody should try that with any laptop.

      Thanks but that's a misconception that many people are mistaken. 16gb + 8gb RAM on laptop still runs on dual channel mode, there's no issue with that as long as both ram sticks has the same speed, latency, data rates and etc. The cpu will only follow/match whoever has slower speed between the modules.

      1. The refresh rate on your battery mode + standard is 144hz and it could be laggy due to your system issues (but this shouldn't be the case because i've tried this as well and works perfectly smooth, only problem is the faster drain battery life)

      Nope, that shouldn't be the case. I think the best way you can do is check out on performance first whether there's already changes or not. Mine's already going 1 year and 7 months but still working fine, no physical damages beyond the backplate and other parts. Much better if you can go to service center for repair especially if there's some black marks or rust on some panel or burn smells on your GPU, that's indeed a problem! Still wondering as well how it end up like that? 2021 version has a great designed airflow and can handle 90+ even on long term usage just like mine.

    So I know this will help the performance on the pc and make it more powerful. And I’ve seen some of the tips and they seem like they also help the computer life. And don’t worry I’ll watch the rest once I have time to do this. But because it seems like you’re making the computer much more powerful than it came, will that affect the life of the computer in the long term and battery life? And not over clock the computer?

      So far, exceeding or overcharging laptop from 100% damages it overtime and battery cycle is something that cannot be avoided, so most of these settings are beneficial and wouldn’t affect battery life on negative side. Overclocking is just an option, all results from all of my videos is base performance without overclocking!

      For this with i5 11th gen + RTX 3050, would be fine with 16gb but much better if you upgrade to 32gb!

    I have the same laptop as yours, and i have decreased my maximum cpu usage to 60%, and it doesn't affect the performance of the games i play by a noticeable amount but keeps the temperature around 70-80degrees. Is it safe tho?

    Can you suggest which cooling pad will be good for asus tuf f15? F15 Laptop Airflow is downward so.

    • @hermezx
      @hermezx  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The cooling pad that i use is Cooler Master Spectrum X150, it's enough already as support airflow, if you have budget for more expensive and higher fan rpm than that! Good as well!

    Did you have problems with MediaTek WiFi 6 network adapter? My ASUS tuf F15 is facing this problem, every time i turn it on for some reason the wifi icon is gone and mediatek is not working properly.

      Try doing MyASUS full check up first, that should tell you atleast some visible and fixable problems you could fix on your end.

    would you recommend this for architecture students? I use heavy renderings, video editing and of course gaming. If not are there any recommendation that are cheap?

    • @hermezx
      @hermezx  9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yes, go for 32gb, which i might do as well in the future, even my 24gb is powerful enough and leave tons for usage, but if you're a "student", this is a bad laptop for a student that needs a lot of battery life, there are better battery life laptops out there, try checking out my Macbook Air M1 Review! -> th-cam.com/video/CCJsNeJ86VI/w-d-xo.html
