I just ordered this notebook (rtx 4600, i7-12700H version) on black friday. Your videos helped me a lot to decide for this one and when this notebook arrived, I'll be using your tips to turn it into a beast :) TY!
Also make a clean install of windows 11 or 10 using uupdump with only one edition(in my case home)to reduce the size of the iso file and then debloat it. Close as many programs you want from start-up to reduce unnecessary ram usage. And also make sure that Microsoft edge is not running on the background if you use a different browser. That's some tips from me to have a much better performance.
i have the i5 11400h rtx 3060 version of this laptop, I just want to ask you what's the maximum storage and ram of my laptop's version. thanks for the tips btw!
yeah, but you can activate the boost when turn on Turbo Mode, otherwise your cpu ll ve running at 4000mhz with temperatures that circle around 95c for nothing
If you're experiencing low FPS with the ASUS TUF gaming series, it's most likely a software issue. Try to update your drivers. Make sure to clean your laptop and have the correct settings. Turn off unnecessary services, background apps, and pause Windows Update when gaming. Junk files and other issues can limit laptop performance use a third-party cleaner to remove them. Low frame rates can also be caused by overheating. Purchase a laptop stand with holes beneath and a vacuum cooler. Not only does the vacuum cooler assist us keep our laptop clean, but it can also suck dust that has entered our laptop.
I own one of these and recently installed 64gb of RAM from 8 (yeah i probably bought too much) and an extra 1tb drive for games. Now the laptop has gone from really good performance to much better, defo worth it, and it was really cool to see inside the laptop too. But some of these tips i didnt know, thanks!
@@John_Smith404 I used 2x 32GB of Crucial DDR4 3200MHz. If you want to find out the maximum amount of memory supported by your system, you can run the “wmic memphysical get maxcapacity” command in terminal. (It will give the answer in Kilobytes)
How is the battery when you watch TH-cam or do tasks like coding unplugged? Also do you use it for college work ? Basically I'm wondering how it lasts unplugged? Battery saved and all the settings to help it save battery?
If you're on to gaming, this is probably one of the best choice equivalent to money, but if battery life matters more and you don't game that much, probably check out others first or get Macbook despite kind of pricey.
Actually that’s gonna be one of my next video, increasing battery life! I suggest you to get the 90wh and wait for my guide, i’ll include everything there! 👍🏻
As you opened the base to upgrade RAM or SSD, swap out the thermal paste, this alone dropped my temps by 8c on the cpu and 6c on the gpu. If you are not moving the laptop, go with liquid metal for even more thermal conductivity.
Fortunately, thermals are still fine and doesn’t need thermal paste replacement yet. I would suggest Arctic or Thermal Grizzly, deepcool would also do!
Question. Suppose most these advice is directed towards gaming. If you want it to be able to handle music production, heavy plugins etc better is there some ways to pull that?
Probably the most general advice for that is increasing RAM and decluttering your laptop (ex: strictly disable startup apps so every inch of performance is targeted to your production application)
I dont know why is nobody talking about undervolting your laptop... if you really wanna be a heavy gamer on a laptop its almost necessary to undervolt your GPU and CPU to avoid thermal throttling- that doesn´t necessary mean that you will have lower performance, its actually the opposite... If you find the stable and proper power curve for your GPU and CPU, it runs cooler and in most cases it has actually same or even slightly better performance because it doesn´t thermal throttle :) Tried it by myself on my Acer Nitro 5 and results are amazing. My GPU went from maximum 76 degrees to 66 degrees while having the same performance and CPU went from 95 degrees spikes to maximum of 80 degrees while under 100% load and if I am just playing games, CPU is hovering between 70 to 75 degrees with Undervolt (yes probably CPU speed is little bit lower because of lowered maximum turbo boost but it doesn´t affect gaming performance you won´t notice in games). Its amazing what it can do :) Anybody should try that with any laptop.
Thanks but that's a misconception that many people are mistaken. 16gb + 8gb RAM on laptop still runs on dual channel mode, there's no issue with that as long as both ram sticks has the same speed, latency, data rates and etc. The cpu will only follow/match whoever has slower speed between the modules.
Love that i have found this video. Thank you. Regarding system graphics preference. If its set to let windows decide. When i launch games will it automatically use my Nvidia 3050?
When I use it on battery in standard GPU mode it lags much and popping up of window panel is not smooth. But when I change it to optimised GPU mode it all uses Integrated graphics card and works fine on battery. Am I using my laptop correctly😢.
That's how it works but here could be some few things that might be happening: 1. The refresh rate on your battery mode + standard is 144hz and it could be laggy due to your system issues (but this shouldn't be the case because i've tried this as well and works perfectly smooth, only problem is the faster drain battery life) 2. You're using only 8gb of RAM
If I upgrade my ram to 16gb then could I overcome this issue. Also I can't even play cod warzone along with discord, because when I minimize the game to correct the mic in discord there's so much lag. I really need your advice friend.
Use the G-Helper instead of the Armoury Crate Buddy! The G-Helper is far more optimized and well programmed for the asus laptops. I bet you will not turn back to the asus armoury crate after usig the g-helper. There is no need to change the powerplans or the settings. Very good video I implemented some of your suggestions and it seems to work. However you can still feel the heat coming out of this laptop as if it was a dorm heater in Anchorage Alaska during the winter. To me the design is poor the laptop should not be over heating like this.

Would it be a good idea to OC using armoury crate or should I just go for MSI? I used GeForce Experience auto OC option and only gave me +75MHz. Seems a little too underwhelming for what the laptop can do
Yes, all of these settings are beneficial for power effiency, temperatures and stability but some might not be applicable to yours as some of the settings are only for Intel CPUs.
In power management, only one power plan, namely Balanced is being shown. How does this interact with the GHelper tool? Does the minimum and maximum power settings actually make any difference?
Unfotunately for the RAM, i don't have! On some of my videos there are good amounts of Installation on SSD! Much better to check other dedicated guides for it!
Question. My friend told me that my gpu is in bad condition etc. He said that i've been using my gpu so bad that it's in the bad shape as of now and there's a discoloration etc, where i only used it on a 3 game applications and i don't play that much and mostly browsing the net. I wonder does the nvidia gpu in a laptop is really that easy to be broken? Is there a way how to check your gpu's health or what may really the cause of gpu being cooked or broken? This worries me because my laptop might die on me and i can't afford to buy a new one haha. Answering my stupid question is highly appreciated thanks ❤️ (Asus Tuf f15 2021 model with rtx 3050ti)
Nope, that shouldn't be the case. I think the best way you can do is check out on performance first whether there's already changes or not. Mine's already going 1 year and 7 months but still working fine, no physical damages beyond the backplate and other parts. Much better if you can go to service center for repair especially if there's some black marks or rust on some panel or burn smells on your GPU, that's indeed a problem! Still wondering as well how it end up like that? 2021 version has a great designed airflow and can handle 90+ even on long term usage just like mine.
Any would do, the elevation stand is more important! Laptop cooler is secondary priority as this laptop already has good airflow (this specific model that has good backplate design)

So I know this will help the performance on the pc and make it more powerful. And I’ve seen some of the tips and they seem like they also help the computer life. And don’t worry I’ll watch the rest once I have time to do this. But because it seems like you’re making the computer much more powerful than it came, will that affect the life of the computer in the long term and battery life? And not over clock the computer?
So far, exceeding or overcharging laptop from 100% damages it overtime and battery cycle is something that cannot be avoided, so most of these settings are beneficial and wouldn’t affect battery life on negative side. Overclocking is just an option, all results from all of my videos is base performance without overclocking!
I have the same laptop as yours, and i have decreased my maximum cpu usage to 60%, and it doesn't affect the performance of the games i play by a noticeable amount but keeps the temperature around 70-80degrees. Is it safe tho?
The cooling pad that i use is Cooler Master Spectrum X150, it's enough already as support airflow, if you have budget for more expensive and higher fan rpm than that! Good as well!
Did you have problems with MediaTek WiFi 6 network adapter? My ASUS tuf F15 is facing this problem, every time i turn it on for some reason the wifi icon is gone and mediatek is not working properly.

It wasn’t a brand new iPhone as that was more expensive. He wanted to save money by getting a used one off of Best Buy’s online store. His came at the end of the month. But now he’s saving up money to get himself a new laptop which won’t be the same as mine.
I started using a cooling pad and my fps increased with a 10°c decrease in cpu temperature

Thanks for that, would help other people surfing the comment section! 🫡
Yeah then shutdown the laptop for even more performance 🫡😂
HEY HERMEZ THANKS FOR YOUR SUPPORT ITS VERY IMPORTANT TO KNOW THAT KIND OF STUFF AND IT HELPED A LOT TO ME AND OTHER PEOPLE ONCE AGAIN THANKS A LOT ..
you can also disable the turbo boost of the processor; it can drastically reduce the power it draws and prevent thermal throttling.
How to do that?
And performance lost, enable ray tracing you will get 30 fps lol
Huge Help brother. Beast Mode on! Thank You so Much!
i have the i5 11400h rtx 3060 version of this laptop, I just want to ask you what's the maximum storage and ram of my laptop's version. thanks for the tips btw!
Same model as this? Then it’s gonna be max up to 32gb, if latest models, probably 64gb!
What!!the first tutorial make my laptop from 90°c gaming while plug in to 60°c gaming while plug in
So first thing we do to make this a beast is disabling turbo boost and …. I am out.
What I don't get it
Bro that cpu fries with cpu boost 😂😂
yeah, but you can activate the boost when turn on Turbo Mode, otherwise your cpu ll ve running at 4000mhz with temperatures that circle around 95c for nothing
Hes right tho for consistent frames
Turning that off will make your cpu extremely slow. I get like 300fps with and without i get like 90fps max
Thanks for this, would be helpful for others as well! 🫡

Bro did you change your thermal paste? If yes then what is the best thermal paste you recommend btw nice video bro.
The armour app made all my games start crashing and lagging so i deleted it and now everything is perfect
Bro i shall give a tip for you use same size on both the ram sticks to attain the dual channel ram performance.
@@hermezx hi what brand and model of ram do you use to upgrade the additional 16gb ram? Im kinda new so sorry if its a dumb qn
Love that i have found this video. Thank you. Regarding system graphics preference. If its set to let windows decide. When i launch games will it automatically use my Nvidia 3050?
It would be better if you could specifically allocate its preference especially for games so they wouldn't accidentally use the built-in graphics.
i have a tuf a15 2023 and it never goes up 70 c no matter what and gives out peak performance
gotta respect asus for making affordable powerful beasts
that's good performance on temps and better than mine! yeah, ASUS TUF still one of the best laptop series out there!
Turn on performance boost mode agressive in turbo mode and set settings to ultra, there is no way to run 70c without performance lost
which setting is the best? Performance, Turbo or High Performance (power plan) ?
The first step u did basically disables CPU boost Entirely.
When I use it on battery in standard GPU mode it lags much and popping up of window panel is not smooth. But when I change it to optimised GPU mode it all uses Integrated graphics card and works fine on battery. Am I using my laptop correctly😢.
That's how it works but here could be some few things that might be happening:
1. The refresh rate on your battery mode + standard is 144hz and it could be laggy due to your system issues (but this shouldn't be the case because i've tried this as well and works perfectly smooth, only problem is the faster drain battery life)
It is the armoury crate which makes the laptop work like a sloth
Indeed, i use g helper as well as i hate armory crate(it eats up too many resources and its badically a bloatware), and i refuse to download it. G helper is basically armoury crate without the bad stuff

Yes, all of these settings are beneficial for power effiency, temperatures and stability but some might not be applicable to yours as some of the settings are only for Intel CPUs.

Much better if you can go to service center for repair especially if there's some black marks or rust on some panel or burn smells on your GPU, that's indeed a problem!
