I live just south of Oswestry and there are loads of fantastic roads and tracks in this area. Just a couple of things though, there is another road from Vyrnwy to Bala. I think you took the south road, but the other one is great too. And most important, If you had gone straight on instead to turning over the dam bridge, there's a nice little cafe.
We're not in a bad spot are we. There's so many great roads for riding around here! Great tips - I'll defo have to check out that other route. And as for the cafe, needless to say it will be an essential stop off next time I'm there 😀 Thanks for watching and all the best 👍
This was a very nice video. The scenery was spectacular, and it was good to hear the engine purring in the background while you spoke. A real plus was having no music. Thank you.
Thank you. I'm glad you liked it 😃 I have the same thoughts as yourself. Music just appoys me on motorcycle videos, so there definitely won't be any on this channel 👍
Nowhere better up there James on days like today. I never like the road from Bala lake to the top (bwlch y groes) and yet Hellfire pass (bwlch y groes) to Dinas I find ok. Stunning place lake Vrynwy this time of year.
It was such a great route, I'll be sure to head up there again and check out the route to Dinas. It looked epic yesterday I really couldn't believe it!
Beautiful ride James, watched all of your videos yesterday and loved every bit of it, I myself am a new rider at the age of 62, got my license on the 15th of august. It is so much fun getting on the road and just enjoying the scenery and getting “lost”. Your choice in bike is a good one, test rode the speed 400 and loved it, tested a couple of bikes lately, a lot of Triumphs and loved all of them, the bonneville range is just so wonderful to ride, being 6ft I fit most bikes and although I already have a T100 , but my Mrs nicked it🤣, I have to say the speed twin 900 is maybe my favorite, so easy to handle and a great bike to ride and sound good too. Anyway you have 2 new subscribers in my Mrs and me, keep those videos coming and ride safely. Greetings from Sweden 😊👍
Thanks so much for the message, I really appreciate the support, and I'm glad you and the Mrs are enjoying the videos 😀 Nice one for passing your test - you were exactly 1 week before me! The Bonneville T100/120 is my dream bike for sure, and the end goal is to own one myself. It's just a matter of time as i have no willpower, and I can't see myself holding out much longer 😂 Great shout on the speed 400. It's a lovely bike, although the speed twin 900 is next level! Whatever you decide, you can't go far wrong, though. All the best, mate, and ride safe 👍
I had a great ride out yesterday too, it was perfect weather. Albeit slightly cloudy. I ended up looping from welshpool back to chirk castle. Trees are stunning right now. I messed up my video though by trying out the loop recording. So lost my footage of a sheep herd on the road.
Oh top tip btw, where you stopped your bike near the dam. If you walk down those steps, after a little bit. You can look back and get a picture of that 'princess' tower through the arch hole of the dam. Makes a great photo 😁
@AnonyMooseUK sounds like a great trip mate! Shame about the footage for you. So frustrating when something goes wrong! Good shout about the dam, I'll have to head down the steps next time as that sounds like a great spot 👍
Looks like a great area to ride James. Must add this to my biking bucket list. Always good to see riders adjust their riding to suit the road conditions.
Thanks mate! It's such a great route and I would definitely recommend it! Totally agree with you there too. I'm never in a rush, certainly not on a mountain pass either. All the best 👍
Another Beautiful Ride! enjoying the view and feeling like traveling Wales by the video. The video recalls my cycling in UK back in 2015. It was southern part of England but if there is a chance, I really wish to go motorcycling in UK one day. And I can tell your videos boosts me to do it. 🤣
Thanks for watching, mate! There's some great routes around Wales, and I would highly recommend it. If you get the chance, you should definitely do it! All the best and ride safe 👍
Great video. Some amazing roads around there! I'm a bit further north than you but also quite near the border. Glad to hear you liked the T100, I've had one since 2017 and I love it.
Thank you, appreciate it! The roads really are incredible, aren't they. I'm heading out that way again this weekend and can't wait. The T100 is just an amazing bike. I really couldn't believe the difference when I tried it out. It's on my christmas list for sure (here's hoping 😅)
I studied in Aberystwyth for three years and although I took the opportunity to explore the countryside, I never visited any of the lakes. I remembered hearing the story of Llyn Celyn near Bala, where a village was destroyed to provide more water for Liverpool, and the residents decanted to a new estate on the edge of Bala. That one looks amazing though. It was a village that was submerged at Lake Vyrnwy, not a whole town.
@IndigoJo thanks for watching, really appreciate it! It's fascinating how they built Lake Vrynwy and how the village (slip of the tongue referring to it as a town!) was sunk to make way for it. It may be man made beauty, but it's beautiful nonetheless!
Thanks Richard, glad you like it 😃 I upgraded the sprocket a couple of weeks ago.. I used your video as a guide, actually, so thanks!! Ha Makes the world of difference. Such a great little upgrade 👌

Morning, just watched your video, some great scenery over the the mountains 👍
@malcolmtaylor3231 thanks for tuning in! The scenery is stunning around here, and I must do this route again! All the best 👍

Another good video James. I bet you enjoyed the Bonny. The stealth paint schemes on all the Bonneville range are amazing.
Thanks mate. The Bonnie was incredible. I really struggled not to buy it 😂 totally agree about the paint schemes too - they look so good!

Hi James, great video again 😆👍. I am curious - have you upgraded the 400x to a 15 tooth front sprocket?
Thanks Richard, glad you like it 😃
I upgraded the sprocket a couple of weeks ago.. I used your video as a guide, actually, so thanks!! Ha
Makes the world of difference. Such a great little upgrade 👌
@@NewRiderDiarieswhat a pity 😂, I was hoping you were still on the 14 and we could have got together for you to compare with the 15. 😂 not to worry 👍
@bankruptpensioner no way, that would have been good! You made such a good case for the change in your video that I couldn't not do it 😂😂
