Purrrfect engine. Triumph have a way of making all the components melt together and work effortlessly, and it starts with that torquey engine. It sounded beautiful as well, I always said all bikes should have no more than two cylinders. Saying that their triples are something else in terms of power and delivery, but as a fun bike they've nailed it with this setup. For really big distances the Tiger range works so well, with a lack of nervousness that you get with the V4 Multistrada, sorry Ducati.

I just got a 2022 Scrambler 1200 XC, for more road focus since that's where I'll be 95% of the time. I think everyone wants to imagine they'll be off-roading like the Baja video all the time and won't. 8" of suspension travel of the XC is plenty, even if you do want to go off-road, but you get quicker steering and improved road manners. They stripped it with the X version, (Brakes, suspension, cruise, dash, paint, ect) so the 2022-2023 XC is the unicorn, IMO. 2022 was the first year of Gen 2, with the CAT moved back to the silencers, so no heat on the leg issue, and it's easily removed with a slip-on, which makes it sound amazing, BTW. The XC also has a shorter swingarm so it should wheelie easier. ;)

17:40 I understand what you say about not needing wind protection, because even without it, the bike gives you a much more adventurous feeling. But that argument is good in low-speed travel situations, or short tours, or with bikes that maintain a more thrown forward stance. The truth is that in such an upright posture, the wind exerts a force on the chest that is bearable, but at the end of the road you will find that your arms and neck will be very tired, because you went the whole trip with tension in your extremities to counter that force. If you've never ridden with wind protection, your brain probably handles it better, but once you've tried a bike that helps make your ride more enjoyable, you don't negotiate taking a step back.

I just can't get over that pipe design. I knows a lot of folks like it, but I just don't see why. Still, cool to see these types of bikes. I like the overall design and it seems to be great for the price... just not the pipe. :P
The only thing I don't like about this bike is the exhaust pipe. Is just that I like when it goes around the body frame and not in a straight line from the engine to the tail. Other than that, the bike is great 👍
PLEASE COMPARE this to the Ducati Scrambler 1100 Sport Pro which weighs 50lbs less and has the same power and full Ohlins front and rear. It’s also air cooled and still makes the same power🤷🏽♂️. I rode mine in the Sierra Nevadas today, what a machine.
The xc has 2" more travel suspension. The xe has 4" more than the 1100 pro. Triumph 1200 is legit off road bike. Only the sled is equally off road worthy
I don't disagree about the windshield long distance comments, however if you lived in Wisconsin and its 45degrees in October your opinion might change.😅
Are you planning on checking out the new Street Triple 765 RS too? From what I’ve seen it’s the new king of middle weight naked bikes. And the cosmic yellow color is something else
I'm absolutely obsessed with these Scramblers and want to get one. It would be my first bike and I am new to riding. I'm 6'5 so the seat height of these makes them even more appealing for me. I'm just curious if you think at 1200 is too risky for a new rider. I'm 32, so not looking to go fast and rip wheelies, so I like to think I could handle it. What are your thoughts? Would also pick up a pre owned one because I don't want to spend all the money on the newest model for a first bike.
I bought a 2023 and it has been in the shop with some type of electrical issue for 3 months. It doesnt look like they are gonna figure it out anytime soon either.
Forst of all kudos to you for your vids. Question: since I'd like to buy a scrambler for daily commute, road rides and occasional mild offroad and I'm pretty undecided between this one and your own Desert Sled, could you please help me with my choice by tellin more? Thanks, dude.
I have a theory about not being able to change road modes on the fly. It all comes down to the designer's choice of action movies. Do they like easy going fast action or more intense full action movies. Just picture any of these bikes in the next action movie and see what scene of suspense the bike adds to.
There’s a brand new XE model 22 at the local triumph dealer. They dropped the price to 12k and are offering 1.99% on it… it’s getting real hard to say no to that

I just can't get over that pipe design. I knows a lot of folks like it, but I just don't see why. Still, cool to see these types of bikes. I like the overall design and it seems to be great for the price... just not the pipe. :P
❤ well come 🎉
The only thing I don't like about this bike is the exhaust pipe. Is just that I like when it goes around the body frame and not in a straight line from the engine to the tail. Other than that, the bike is great 👍
For a smooth 1200 Zara makes one that reroutes it down, around and back up lol
Regarding why you can't choose off-road modes while riding - it's because they specifically turn off the ABS I'm pretty sure.
Yup. The ABS and traction control.
I have a 13 year old Thunderbird and it's the best bike I have ever owned
is it the only bike you have ever owned?
PLEASE COMPARE this to the Ducati Scrambler 1100 Sport Pro which weighs 50lbs less and has the same power and full Ohlins front and rear. It’s also air cooled and still makes the same power🤷🏽♂️. I rode mine in the Sierra Nevadas today, what a machine.
The xc has 2" more travel suspension. The xe has 4" more than the 1100 pro.
Triumph 1200 is legit off road bike. Only the sled is equally off road worthy
It’s YAMMIE LANE D BABY!😂😂
You can change the mode but you have to let go off the throttle.
I don't disagree about the windshield long distance comments, however if you lived in Wisconsin and its 45degrees in October your opinion might change.😅
Now the real question is would you rather Triumph or the FTR Rally?
FTR vote from me
Looking at this for a first bike. One bike to rule them all sort of thing.
You should do a review of the new scrambler 400x and the speed 400 of triumph! I for one think there wonderfull bikes. Bought myself a scrambler 400x
Are you planning on checking out the new Street Triple 765 RS too? From what I’ve seen it’s the new king of middle weight naked bikes. And the cosmic yellow color is something else
I saw someone at my work that was riding his from Texas to Newfoundland. I wanna do a big ride like that lol.
I have the XC and I love it so so much 😚
SOLD 🎩
excellent review
Great review, thanks. Where are you that you can go to the front of the lane at a stoplight? If I did that here in Washington I get run over.
Compared to your Ducati how is wind protection on triumph? How do these bikes compare?
I have a theory about not being able to change road modes on the fly. It all comes down to the designer's choice of action movies. Do they like easy going fast action or more intense full action movies. Just picture any of these bikes in the next action movie and see what scene of suspense the bike adds to.
It comes down to safety xP
Nice bike I compared it to R9t and husqvarna and the Ducati scrambler !
How does the heat from the high exhaust pipe?
It’s hot, not going to lie
You should get some parts from Bunker Custom Cycles for this bike, they have awesome stuff.
What's your opinion of this against the Scrambler 900
Need a MT07 scrambler
Preach! XSR700 with Tenere 700 suspension.
think we can get a video of a 2023 klr 650 for shigs and didels?
There’s a brand new XE model 22 at the local triumph dealer. They dropped the price to 12k and are offering 1.99% on it… it’s getting real hard to say no to that
That's a steal
that much cc might be useful on the autobahn, but around town and cross country, 'add lightness and simplicate.'
Gotta get a windshield
Im between this and the yamaha xsr900.
If you like this bike, you should definitely try a 800 xca.
If you mean the tiger, I have a 2018 800, and yeah, lovely.
You got me sold!
Newbie here with my SCL500 (Just hit 70 miles on it today xD!!!) and I feel the same about it as you do that smexy Triumph! ^.^
Damn this thing looks great
Do they deliver to the Caribbean?
Would this be a good commute bike?
