There is a compartment in Soundwave’s feet to store Frenzy’s and Rumble’s weapons. You can identify the KO from the original MP by looking at the Deception symbol on the chest, there must be a triangle pointing downward on the forehead, if there is no triangle it is a KO.
The way to tell between Masterpiece and KO is the box. For MP, the entire front of the box is glossy while the KO is only glossy for the image and not the background.
It's an alright option, but there's now the KO of the FansToys version for a more show accurate version (which has optional parts to add in order to make it more like the G1 toy or MP13). Funny thing is that Hasbro's Year of the Goat Soundwave and his Minions feels like even more of a KO than even the actual KOs, due to Soundwave being made of predominantly clear plastic...that can stress, crack, and break in just a matter of *MONTHS*. (The Tape Minions are predominantly gray plastic, but the Laserbeak mold has more than enough clear plastic to be huge break bait; Ravage also has a lot of clear plastic, but for a mold that's said to already break easily anyway, it's holding up better than literally everything else!) One not so cool thing about MP Soundwave that's carried over to several other things in the years since MP13 came out just over a decade ago: that multiple tape gimmick tends to fail more often than not, usually gettin' stuck. This has also been a thing with KFC's Blaster & Twincast, Takara's MP13B Soundblaster, the Fall of Cybertron Voyager class Soundwave, Blaster, & Soundblaster, Hasbro's Masterpiece Soundwave, and most recently, the Siege Voyager class Soundwave mold (though this is just poor design, since Siege/Netflix Soundwave can only hold one tape while Siege 35th Anniversary Soundblaster holds two...the Tape Minions just tend to get stuck anyway.) They seem to have fixed the problem with Kingdom/Legacy Blaster, but until more of Blaster's Tape Minions come out, we won't know for sure.
Got the original twice, one for Takara and one from Hasbro. Between those 2 the difference was ahasbro had yellow eyes and came with all the tapes. The difference between them and yours are the blue are more similar to the first version you showed but I wouldn't mind having the tinted tape door like the one without the Decepticon insignia. That one though seems to me have the original hands, but on my copies the pointing finger would fly off as soon as you tried to move it, not a great way of dealing with that problem but it was easy to reattach. Surprising though you don't have the clear KO version, looks great and is pretty cheap, and then there's also a KO of Robot Paradise version. Not sure about the price range on that one since I already got lucky and got my hands on an original. Good thing with this video is when people wishes to see more of Skye, now you got a video to recommend them to. Entertaining to watch
I have a lot of Soundwaves, but I might get more. Lol. I actually like the non-symbol one a little more. Even if he can't flip the bird. And yes, Skye was the star of this one. Gotta share with all the cat lovers.

I want to ask what you guys think about the ratchet at the hip. When you flex his leg forward, won't the plastic knob extending from the joint to the thigh break? It seems to move forward with the leg when attempting to move the leg on the ratchet. It's like every time you flex the leg you force that little plastic piece
Mine hasn't broken yet, and I have both official and KO, and it's the same for both. I just try to hold as high up to the joint as I can when I move it though, if you tried to force it from farther down, I can see it shattering, especially the longer he sits on your shelf. Just use caution and it should be fine.
I love this guy but unless they re-issue it I'll never get a legit one. Between scraped up feet and cracking on laser beak, a lot of the old ones are in bad shape... or cost a crazy amount

The back flap on THF is intended to fold down to fill out the bottom of player mode. The joint to fold it can be very stiff though.

There is a release... a grey bar on each leg. Press it, and you can collapse the leg.
This comes with an official deception logo? Or was that just a sticker decal added separately?
I didn't add it. It came that way.
there are two types of KOs. the fakes that wants to sell as original. the honest KOs with their own packaging without logos and names.

Yes, though they fit a little loosely. You can't fit MP cassettes in G1, though.
