OLD VIDEO - Complete Officially released DW Neil Peart Snare Collection

  • I was asked to restore this by some viewers even though there is an updated video. A couple of mistakes in this video: I said wood cogs on the Time Machine Evolution by error. They are rubber cogs. The Time Machine Edge snare has the hand painted plastic cogs.
Just to clarify - Neil played MANY different snares through out his career. This is the complete set of replicas that were sanctioned by him as replicas and made by DW's - My new videos contains some additional snares that were not mass produced as replicas and is more complete.

@@drummerchappell He's always had red bikes, it was a thing of his, they were also always BMW's. He started with a GS1100 I believe, then had a couple GS1150's, and his last bike was a GS1200 if i'm not mistaken. So since mid 90's since he started seriously riding he has owned several. Which one really doesn't matter, it would be just as cool as any other! He was known for selling his higher mileage bikes to crew members around the time he would buy a new one.

A little story I want to add: my dad was living in St Catharines back in the 70s and, when Neil left St Catharines to join Rush in Toronto, my dad played a farewell concert for him that someone organized. My dad swears to this day Neil never knew but I always wonder

Damn. That’s really awesome. Some of those drums you can’t even put a price tag on but there’s probably at least $50K (if not more) worth of just snare drums alone. How on earth did you get your hands on such memorabilia? I mean the Time Machine snare with the out of alignment logos; not even the most diehard Neil Peart fans ever knew that existed so how on earth did you find out about it OR position yourself to be able to get those rarities? You don’t just have one or 2 rare Neil Peart items………you’ve got them ALL!! lol. @@nocomment3600 yeah the Time Machine kit was going for $100K. I’ve got 4 of the Icon snares and they were on average $1,600 apiece. Snakes & Arrows, r40, T4E/Vapor Trails and Time Machine snare with the actual cogs. A few of those drums weren’t even sold to the general public so there’s no telling how much he paid for those things. Honestly I’d say $60-$70K.

Lol! Then again most of Neil’s snares have gold plated hardware. The entire R30 kits does!

I absolutely love every drum there!!
But if I had to pick one that is irreplaceable to me… it’s the copper piccolo!!
I can picture Neil holding it and messing with the tuning and or admiring the copper finish.
Next would be the “T4E” snare.
      Guaranteed it’s hard to find..
Then of course the man “edge “, something about it just screams “NP”!
