Thank you for letting us into your sewing room and you taught me something new, how to trim flying geese blocks in multiples. You are a whiz, thank you for sharing and love your creativity, you inspire all of us.
I love both quilts. Again the way you lay out your flying geese has changed how I am going to do it from now on. Setting a timer is great i because sometimes iI say oh I only have 20 minutes instead I can say I have 20 minutes to get something accomplished. TFS
I enjoyed this video today especially because your idea of taking a break in the middle of a project, setting the timer to work on small parts of another, it’s just what I need to keep the “squirrels“ from distracting me and creating more piles of UFOs. Keep up the great videos I really enjoy sewing along with you as you show us ideas like this. Thanks.
Hi Jessica 👋 I love all the great videos that you are loading now after your kids are back in school 😊 I have a question about your strip piecing: Why don't you cut strips and sew them together and after cut them in the rows? I am asking because every time that a sew many small pieces in a row, the end product is never straight like yours. Can you advise on what I need to do to keep them straight 😊 Thanks
Sometimes the math doesn't work out nicely to sew it into rows and then cut. So, you might sew a bunch of fabric width strips and you only need 3/4 of each one and the remaining 1/4 is not used. If the math works out and I'd use almost all of each strip, then I would do that but if it doesn't work out that way, this is my preferred method. I'm not sure what to tell you to do to keep them straight. If each piece you sew is straight, then the row should be straight. So, maybe just take it one piece at a time and make sure each one is properly lined up.
There is a difference in front versus back of this chambray. I tried to use all front but it is hard to tell so I definitely had some pieces flipped. In the end, I'm okay with it though.
Love the block! Why didn't you sew strip sets for the sashing and then cut to correct width? Seems like it would be faster and less tedious than sewing all those small pieces together.❤

What is the name of the Chambray fabric that you used in this quilt, and where did you purchase it? If you don't mind sharing, I've just found your channel and I'm really enjoying it. Thank you in advance, you have a new subscriber.

Love your Open Ocean quilt. Can’t wait to see it with the border. Your Star block tips are amazing. Does the chambray have a right & wrong side?

Where can I find the chambray that you used for the background? I love it!
I used Moda Fabrics Chambray in Medium Blue (12051 15).
Do you shorten your stitch length when sewing small pieces?
Yes, I do!

@@jessica_dayon I can certainly understand that. You get the math work and you are in trouble. Really enjoy your videos.
Wrong not work.
What chambray do you like? This is really cute for a little boy.

It is Moda Chambray in Indigo 12051 13. Fat Quarter Shop sells it.
@@jessica_dayon Thank you so much, I am still watching all of your videos, you do a wonderful job, thank you for sharing.
Couldn’t you have done a strip piecing method and subcut to your dashing unit, instead of each piece?
The math didn't work out appropriately in my opinion so I prefer to do it this way.
