Love your instructions for recovering from a mistake! I love those star in a star blocks. Wrapping up some other projects, but I might do this one next year if I can.
I started this week’s blocks a few days ago and I was very nervous about the size of the small star as I was sure they would turn out wonky. They came out perfect! Not bragging at all but totally shocked. My piecing and cutting skills have really improved thanks to you. Woohoo!
I saw you posted this video earlier today, decided to save it for later and headed to my sewing room. Ironically, I made the exact same flying geese mistake, didn’t know how to fix it, so I recut and re-sewed them. 😢 thanks for the instructions, they will be useful for next time. 😊
Thanks, Jessica! Couple weeks behind because I didst think I would have time to do this project, but then decided to do it anyway. Week one kicked my butt. I had never pieced with triangles, and I am apparently incredibly inaccurate. I had to tear the hst apart over and over, but I finally think I have it. I'm using Pam Buda's Cheddar and Coal and Butternut and Peppercorn along with a few Kim Diehl oranges and Kansas City Troubles tans/creams. I love this quilt and the color combos. It is nice to see these fabrics come off the shelf and into something. I am going to start my windmill blocks tonight. A tad worried about them, but it'll work out.
I'm so glad you decided to sew along! Don't rush and don't worry about finishing in the timeline if you can't. Working with triangles takes practice but if you stick with it, I hope you'll find that they get so much easier and it really simplifies piecing. The fabrics you chose to use are fantastic!! They will make an absolutely gorgeous quilt. Good luck on the windmill blocks! Thanks for being here ❤️
Love your fabrics you are using in this quilt! I have the pattern and have not started yet but have started pulling fabrics from my stash. Thinking I will be able to start getting caught up next week. Love your videos!
Hahaha, seam direction is such a hot topic with some people. Too many rules that people make up, takes the fun out of the craft. I do what ever works for each pattern as I go.
I try to press for nesting seams, but if i come across a “double” seam i just sew right over it. My machine does just fine and after pressing it is not noticeable.
Beautiful block. Thanks Jessica.
I never thought I could salvage those when I make a mistake, thank you. Didn’t join the quilt a long but definitely adding to my list to make.
Thank you
Oh I love this quilt! Would have loved to join the QAL, but next time! Hand surgery 10/2, finally the cast comes off next week!!!❤😆😏
I hope your recovery is quick!

Thank you for all your videos. It's helped so much on my quilting journey. Your tip on not pressing is fantastic .....a game changer for me.❤
You are so welcome! I am so happy to hear that!

I'm so glad you are sewing the pattern! I hope you enjoy it!
This is going to be a beautiful autumn quilt.
Thank you!
Beautiful as usual ❤❤
Thank you!
I love that block.
Thanks!

Hi Jessica I saw how you redo your flying geese. My question is when you cut the other side will your block have the same rectangular size?
I don't need to cut the other side. The rectangle was 1/4" too big so if I took that 1/4" off one side, then the rectangle is the correct size.
@ thanks ☺️
Hi! Does anyone know what machine she uses?
Great videos! Thank you!!! ❤❤❤
I have two- a BERNINA B 770 QE PLUS and a Juki TL-2000 Qi.
@@jessica_dayonaw thank you so much!
I just finished my Dresden plate and I’m going to watch a video on how to finish it lol thank you!!!
Jessica, do you use any spray starch on your blocks. Thank you .
No, I don't.

Me too!
I am all caught up just in time for tomorrow’s next release. Where can we share pictures with you?
Great!! You can share them on Instagram. If you tag me there, I should see it.
@ - sounds great. Hopefully you can see them. ♥️💙 Scrappy RWB (backgrounds too) from various designers.
Taking them apart and altering, thoroughly confused me.
