I was just at an off-road shop a few weeks ago talking about a lift for my Tundra. It just so happened there was a Tundra in the shop finishing up a lift install using Camburg UCAs. They did the alignment, pulled the Tundra out of the shop, and I watched as they turned the wheels, the front tires flopped over at 20+ degrees of camber. It literally looked like something was broken. I went back into the shop and asked the tech why that was happening. According to him, the Camburg UCAs have something like 8 degrees of caster, which is MUCH more than any other UCAs on the market. And when you have a lot of caster, your tires gain lots of camber when turning.

Awesome video and great explanation of the Camburg arms. Build quality is amazing on my tubular Camburg UCA but i also am having trouble with my alignment. I would really love to upgrade to the Kinetik hiem joint arms one day! Keep up the good videos Ryan!
I’m saving up $500 for the Camburg UCA’s, $2000 for a half dozen alignments, 6 months of headaches and taking half a week off work to drive 1000 miles to LA so they’ll work. Or I’ll buy something that works.
Tubular control arms are a lot stiffer then stamped control arms more solid in corners and they are available with bearing bushing so the load is not sitting on rubber bushings when flexed and can easily change bushings so yea not just looks
I really appreciate the honest comments. I found this interesting. Video could have been shorter. Also, what tires are you running?; they are so loud!!!
Why did he have so much trouble with a Bilstein 6112/5160 kit? There are a half dozen UCA that work amazingly well with that kit! ICON, BDS, JBA Offroad, Total Chaos, MCM Fab, SPC, etc all are more than adjustable enough!

So, I have a 2018 and I have the same tubular arms you "had" I have the same shimmy in the front end, I've heard the same limitations from my alignment people.. I don't what day of week my truck was made? I'm curious, this couldn't be just our problem? And as much as it's great that they have you credit for your initial 650 plus dollars purchase. I have an issue with having to spend another 650.00 to fix a problem with part that's made for my truck that doesn't work.. I'm I wrong or are we the only two guys with tundras tgat the tubular arms don't work? I live a closer to Camburg than you do and it wouldn't be an issue to drive up there, however it is interesting listening to you story and feeling like you just laid out my whole issue as well. Coinsidence?
+Scott Giem thanks for the comment. Yeah man, I’m feeling your pain as I was in your shoes. So, keep in mind, Camburg sells these by the thousands. Not everyone has an issue. As I mentioned, they diagnosed the full truck, furthermore, they made sure the control arm was built to spec. The arm wasn’t the issue in my case, my truck was. I hope you get your problem worked out. It was seriously the most frustrating thing for me to go through.
So are the regular UCA they sell not worth a crap? Only the billet? I feel better about the company backing their stuff but they did the minimum IMO. I was going to order their leveling kit for my 2005 now I am concerned...
So Camburg tubular style UCA’s use a different designed ball joint than what’s on their Kinetik arm? And now your using their Kinetik billet style arm? The ones that are around $1,395?
Do research. Camburg uses superior materials through and through. I have tubular with Heim joints from camburg. Running a full LT kit with bed cage from them. A simple call to them will help you make your decision.
I too purchased camburg upper control arms fro my 2015 tundra, took it to get an alignment and could not get it to align , I immediately thought of you're video, even though I double checked and made sure I chose the right year model for my truck it still did not align , so after hours of thinking about it I looked at the instructions again and holy crap it stated for year model 2007 through 2013!! I have a 2015 !! But still said it would fit my 2015 , now I wonder if that's the issue
I couldn't finish watching this endless rambling, 28 minutes of babbling for 5 minutes worth of actual content. I'm sure there is some good information in there somewhere but it got lost in the clutter.
Thanks for this video! Im looking to put in the same bilstein suspension in my tundra trd sport. Just wondering if you would do anything different if you could do it over, or if you would have bothered with replacing your UCAs?
Our upper arms correct camber and add caster. If you lift your truck with a coilover shock more than 1.5-2" you will need to run upper arms to correct the alignment and add more caster for better performance.
So from all this talk what I understand is either buy standard camburgs and take a chance on alignment or buy the super expensive camburgs to confirm all will be well ooooooor buy SPC’s for half the price and also confirm the alignment will be fine...🤔
So no other control arm companies will correct their mistake? Got it! You could have at least compared them to one other brand... I'm sure the JBA's I just ordered will be fine..

This situation bugs me a lot because I feel like my tundra hurting...
+Robert Medrano hey Robert, I’ve been there and have felt your pain. I think half the reason I made this video was to show the difference of the Heim joint kenetik arms. What are your other alignment numbers? I can probably point you in the right direction as I feel I’ve been through it all.
The Procomp kit uses a drop down bracket set up for the geometry of the stock arm. When you lift or Level a Toyota with a coilover only the camber goes positive so we make the upper arms slightly shorter than the stock arms. This corrects the camber. If you run an aftermarket arm with a dropdown style lift kit you will be having negative camber in the range you mentioned. This is where our heim pivot billet arms will work and correct this.
Camburgs always have too much caster, the tubular arms they have are all that way. Kinetics can be adjusted but if you dont want to spend $1300 on arms get icon tubular UCA's always on the money for alignment... SPC and JBA are weak compared to the others, maybe fine on a lighter truck but not trusting my 6000lb truck to one of those 2 for real off-road.
