To clear things up: Germany removed Yoshi from the box art because we have an age rating system (called USK) wich is displaced with colors. The color for games that are for 12+ are green and are placed there where yoshi on the cover is, so they removed him because he was coverd by a translusant green logo and that wouldnt look that good.
It's hard to tell if it's Disney or Sakurai, but Sakurai did confirm in a tweet that in his own words, "Only a Keyblade Wielder can use a Keyblade." Now whether it was Sakurai's conscious decision or Disney/Nomura's footnote is still up in the air, but Sakurai did bring up how the original trailer was gonna have Mario use the keyblade but was later scrapped for a more lore accurate trailer.
Yeah, you pay the piece for having Kingdom Hearts games for Nintendo Switch cloud versions. So it should be on Sony and Microsoft consoles that have memory space on a lot of GB which is Gigabytes.
@@jadaw644 It's just as a stupid comment as those who claim that Steve's final smash is a pre-rendered cutscene, because "having that many TNTs go off even on a powerful computer will slow it down", in Minecraft yeah, but that has nothing to do with Smash Bros.

26:45 About that; Isabelle's reveal was actually delayed from its original release. Because of an earthquake in Japan, the Direct where Isabelle was shown was delayed for 2 weeks, which may explain the overlap in ESRB rating, as the ESRB was completed during those 2 weeks. I remember people thought that Isaac from Golden Sun was going to be announced and the delay was because he would show a lot of ground-based moves that would have been considered distasteful in the conext of an earthquake. yeah, regarding that "queen death" one. Same thing happened with the September Direct that year - it was just NOT livestreamed because the Queen died. But you could still watch the direct in the US. seriously.
33:08 just a correction on Kazuya: they didn't mistranslate it. Kazuya actually says something different in Smash: "Koko wa Kisama no Hakaba da!" which does translate to "this will be your Burial Ground" (or "This will be your Tomb), The "You Bastard" part actually is just one interpretation of the word "kisama" which is actually just a very aggressive way to say "you", it's often translated as "you bastard" because of the aggressive tone, but the direct translation of word itself really just means "you".
@@budgetcoinhunter yeah, and to further exemplify, Rukia in Bleach constantly uses Kisama to refer to others, she's not calling every single person around her a bastard, she's just showing an abrasive personality.
Yeah, "bastard" is just a way of putting emphasis on it. It is disrespectful to use it, but there is no "literal" translation of "kisama" outside of the word YOU. This all would have been resolved if translators back in the day simply said "You, but in a rude tone." 😂
With the censorship to the DK Rap, I was suprised DK 64's DK Rap had the word hell in it, but I soon learned that is because it was developed by Rare, a company located in Britain, and apparently, in that country, hell is not considered a bad word. As for the removal of Goofy and Donald, it's pretty understandable. The two did not originate in video games, despite having major roles in the Kingdom Hearts series. Not only that, but they probably would also have caused the Sora DLC to be a limited time download and would probably cost more to license due to the fact the two, alongside Mickey, Minnie, Daisy, and Pluto, are Disney's flagship mascots, meaning they will probably end up being off limits.
Yeah I was a little concerned about those censorships. I do not consider hell a bad word cause there are much worse words. For the Disney characters, they should’ve made it up by including Duck Hunt on the stage, as it has the highest resemblance to Donald and Goofy.
@@shamwow2000 I think legend of Zelda in whole has this weird censorship thing because it has showed ganon dying multiple times in the series in graphic ways lol
Reason why goofey and donald is not inn smash is probably because they weren't created inn kingdom hearts. Beside, nintendo is not sharing their characters, so I defintly understand disney for not wanting to share their mascots. Also, hell was censored most likely because it is a religious sign. I don't find it offensive and probably use curse words on daily basis (even without relising it, but thats pretty standard inn my country) but Nintendo do not like to use real world religion inn general. That also being the simple world hell.
Last I heard about it, it wasn't censorship that left out all the FF stuff, it was that Squeenix lets the copyright of the songs and character designs stay with the composers and designers. Apparently Cloud's amiibo reflects this, with the copyright on the base including the designer's name. So instead of having to just negotiate with Squeenix, Nintendo had to negotiate with all the composers for every song they wanted. I don't blame them for avoiding that headache. On the topic of pokemon, the whole anime-reference part is made even stranger by ash-greninja. Ms. Pac-man also deserved a mention, since Namco kinda doesn't own the rights to her at all. Snake also misses that they changed his series logo since Kojima left Konami.
@@dippin4dots Yeah, but the downside is that if the compossers want they can charge a big premium for their tracks, this actually happened to DQ11: The original versions have a Midi-OST instead of the usual orchestra; by the time SE made the DQ11S version they managed to get the rights for the orchestral OST.

@@jacobs5546 you got me on that. (Then again, how many people are going to know the names of Red and Leaf, especially when some of their alt. costumes are references to other protags of the series.
hikarinoryu I think it's either because Pokemon is Protective over Human Characters, (Not likely, given the fact that Nintendo Publishes Pokemon, but a possibility) or to avoid confusion because really only bigger Pokemon fans know them by Red and Leaf.
@@jacobs5546 It's actually pretty likely, Nintendo publishes the game and is part of the Pokémon Company (A joint between Nintendo, Game Freak and Creatures), but Nintendo can't do anything they want without the rest of TPC agreeing. Which is probably why they don't allow true Shiny variant of the Pokémon in the games and why they didn't allowed Pokémon cries in Super Mario Maker amiibo skins.
The Ridley fact is absolutely, mind blowing-ly hilarious. I also always found it hilariously ironic how Snake's ass nerf was more meme'd than ZSS's bust nerf. 😂
29:33 that is not a censor. its an optimization to help make the game run smoother. deforming geometry with bones is somewhat computationally expensive, and the more bones you have moving around the more the system has to calculate all that. and with doubling the amount of characters for 8 player it was probably a bit too much for the console to handle, so they needed to remove some extra, not 100% necessary ones to lighten the load, along with a slew of other things as well, but in that instance it was really noticeable
Though it would still be called censorship by many, I think you could make the case of the Wicked Weaves not taking as much clothing being an example of Bayo pulling her punches. It is a friendly competition after all, not a battle to the death.
35:42 if you look behind sakurai, you'll notice a long, stripy, beige and tan cushion. This 10000% percent confirms with complete evidence that the pokemon furret will be in the next smash game.
About Sheik: Japanese rarely uses pronouns to refer to someone else. The subject is omitted as soon as it's established in a conversation, so no need to specify what you're talking about beyond the first mention (in this case, Sheik) Also, removing Masterpiece demos makes sense because those games were not available on the respective shops from that console. It makes sense.
The “social distance” joke regarding Min Min’s demonstration was because of a TH-cam policy that dissuaded talking about the pandemic! Hope this helps!
I've also heard that Sakurai's specific phrasing referenced something a Japanese politician once said that became a meme in Japan, and they didn't want any political conversation. But your explanation seems a lot more likely.
I'm pretty sure the Topi change is because, around the time of Ice Climbers, the topic of clubbing baby seals to poach their coats was a hot topic in politics through the western world
27:08 “Inkling can’t have the colour red or white” me who thinks about the curing white chocolate choice in the current splatfest now and the other splatfest like ketchup
To be fair, that "red ketchup" looked more salmon color rather than the deep red we expect blood to be. Not sure about the white chocolate, but I guess they figured "Okay, we know you're gonna make the jokes anyway so it's whatever at this point" but in Smash, Splatoon was still relatively new so they probably weren't sure.
About Mythra...I don't mind too much about covering up the breast window, but did they really need to give her original Spirit design dark tights? She's meant to be a Light character, which is why she's covered in bright colours - white and gold, mainly. Dark tights, that effectively cover the lower 50% of her body, goes against that colour theming, and is extremely distracting colour-wise. When she became a fighter, one of her alts got cream tights, which just work _so much better_ - why couldn't the Spirit, and thus this modified design as a whole, have had these cream tights? The annoying thing is, is that this design was retroactively added to Xenoblade Chronicles 2 through an optional Aux Core item, "Massive Melee Mythra", which also has the highest crit-rate boost of all Aux Cores - and since Mythra's playstyle is all about crits, that just incentivises the player to put the item on her, which means ruining her design. She's supposed to be the antithesis of the main villain, Malos, who's the one with the dark colours due to being a Dark character. Mythra's not supposed to have those dark colours; he is.
Plus it seems implied that the Pacman in the ghostly adventures isn't really the same pacman. I always theorized it's actually Pacman Jr grown up as he has a similar name and we usually only see him as an infant. Mostly because the ghosts are all friends of Pacman while the original Pacman was clearly an enemy of them (with some mutual respect). as well as the new pac friends we never see. Kind of understand why Sakurai stood his ground there though, I think he made the right call mostly to prevent Namco from trying to "new age" stuff.
Unfortunately, from Smash 4, and now reused in Ultimate, the DK Rap is heavily cut. The cut is not out of censorship, just so the song could exist, even parred down, fitting on the 3DS cartridge.
5:49 Nintendo had to remove a character in order to make room for Germany's over-sized rating mark, and it was decided that Yoshi was the one who would be sacrificed. Pikachu was then moved up closer to Link and the rating mark put in its place. Also cause we got sn age rating (usk) that would have put a translucent green square there
Gonna be honest, you really should have looked into the differences between censorship and copyright. A lot of these fall under copyrights that Nintendo may not have permission for rather then censorship which would mean something is in the Japanese version and not in the international one. Otherwise, good video! Thanks for sharing! ❤
12:41 The Monado CAN be used by non-chosen ones for short periods. It was Dunban’s signature weapon until it took control of him and paralyzed his arm. Plus, Aegises are probably like Flesh Eaters in that they can choose their Drivers, and we see Malos acting as a Driver to Sever and fighting alone, and doing just fine. Since Aegises can outlive their Drivers, it makes sense that they’d be able to freely chose a new one. Rex-Rex didn’t need bits of Pyra’s Core Crystal to become her Driver, he needed them to recover from being stabbed Edit: who's "Dunham?"
(13:30) Good that you specified the North American trailers, because in Europe, Africa, Asia, Oceania, the titles were not censored. Well the last two were for some reason, but all other titles were not. Just wish you could have shown how it looked like in Europe, to show that the actual title was used.
You forgot to mention that Travis mii costume also has censorship. They had to change the logo on his shirt from the Unreal engine logo to the UAA (United Assassins association) logo due to copyright issues
Yeah, I've always been sick of people thinking female anatomy needs to be censored because its "too sexualized" but many women IRL naturally have large breasts and often the people calling for the censor are mysogynistic men who don't like femininity at all (as they often are the ones accusing the female of being sexual despite in some cases being designed BY women in the first place, as was the case of Zero Suit Samus). I can understand the revealing clothing thing though, but shrinking breasts really should be stopped, that comes across as even more misogynistic, especially in a world where male characters are still drawn with big strong muscles and proportions without issue, but if a female looks remotely curvy, it's suddenly the most offensive thing. At least it seems they're calming down on that. Flurrie from TTYD still is busty and topless (and still allegedly has Mario grabbing her chest while she's blowing), and similarly, though her breasts no longer jiggle when damaged (understandably as she's being hurt) Valentina still has abnormally large breasts and a tight hourglass waist. they only gave her stockings to slightly cover her legs. (and with the new ending they reveal that she isn't supposed to be a bad person, just an actress like Birdo was so her design isn't meant to be a "overly proportioned women are ugly" jab like was common back then).
@@MarioMastar I totally agree, the "nerf womanly shape" thing is even more misogynistic than anything, as if female characters aren't allowed to have certain proportions. The funny part is that in most cases their proportions aren't that big to begin with , Mythra and Pyra for example their size is rather common and not overly big like most people imply (although sure, compared to most female characters that are flat as a chopping board they may seem on the big side to some people). I'm also glad they TTYD suffered almost no changes.
The reason "His World" only got the E3 version is because when "Sonic the Hedgehog (2006)" was shown at E3, it was supposed to be released on the WII. It ended up being released on essentially everything but a Nintendo console. For this reason they only had the E3 version in smash. It was not for censorship.
Keeping with the Sora keyblade issue with Kirby, Kirby also absorbed the devil gene with Kazuya. He also gained the Triforce power with Zelda and Ganondorf.
Its because of Kingdom Hearts's weird rules regarding canon. Everything officially KH related is considered canon to the KH timeline, spinoffs, mobile games, pamphlets with lore on them from live orchestral performances, its all canon to the story of Kingdom Hearts. This is different to how most other series treat smash bros. Outside of a cheeky nod to Smash in Bayonetta, Kid Icarus Uprising breaking the 4th wall, and Master Hand showing up in some Kirby games, Smash bros is treated as entirely non-canon to the other game series within it. Basically Smash Bros isn't a Mario game, a Pokemon game, or a Zelda game, but due to a technicality on how its canon works, it is a Kingdom Hearts game.
If I recall, Earthbound's demo was censored out of Brawl because a LOT of songs would actually violate copyright. Some instances include a ton of inspiration from the Beatles, Chuck Barry, and other old songs.
I think the lack of earthbound in the US version may possible be due to the fact that in the JP version when you start out the game, ness is actually naked, but in the US version he has on pajamas, and for whatever reason they may not have been able to find an version copy to put in to get around that possibly?
I guess they didn't want the Mickey Mouse icon be visible on Kirby. You don't see Mario having the item with the icon at the same time. But they could just make a version of the keyblade that doesn't have the icon, since Kirby often have his own version of the weapons anyway. But also, we technically never saw Mario hold the keyblade. We only saw him grab and throw _something._ It's a stretch, but sometimes such detail is enough.
33:25 Trust me, E10+ rated games can have FAR worse swear words than “bastard”, as Etrian Odyssey 3 proves with its use of the word “bitch” while still being E10+.
and Shadow the Hedgehog got an E10 mostly because of the guns shooting real bullets being replaced with lasers and the human GUN soldiers not dying on screen (they merely faint but they added sounds of them moaning and allow them to be revived) and removing all blood or having the alien blood be green. The swears were the least of their worries.
Regarding Peach's black void under her dress--it wasn't that way back in Melee. Back in Melee, you could actually see under her dress and see her underwear. Especially if she got flipped over or hit in the right way.
Same for Brawl, it wasn't hard to see her bloomers there either (Zelda was a lot harder though), but Smash 4 and on, to get that E10+ rating is where they added the void and didn't model above her knees at all.
Ngl, i feel like the sparks fit a lot more the overall P5 style, not to mention, it doesn't even make sense having blood in smash since some of the characters can't even bleed
Smash seemed to play a lot with the Gender issue, for both Birdo and Yoshi. as they also kept insisting Birdo has an indeterminent Gender, which frankly lead to a lot of ire. The whole reason Birdo was made transgender in the original games is to make FUN of her by saying she's "So ugly, she's actually a man pretending to be a woman" but due to severe changes in tastes and views on that front, they kind of played with the idea of making her genderless to satisfy both crowds before finally just settling on making her pure female. Though Smash was the only series to do that as every Mario game since then calls her female and Captain Rainbow, japan only literally has a mission where she proves without a doubt she's female (even though men can use dildos too... but I digress). Given how they handled Vivian in the remake with far more sensitivity and respect, I feel maybe they'll one day admit that both Yoshi and Birdo are trans at the same time and just happen to work out. but for the moment, it's clear they're trying to get away from what was otherwise a really off key joke for an otherwise beloved character.
11:43 could have been square or Nintendo’s choice Sakurai’s rule is you have to originate from a game to be in smash so maybe removing Disney references was part of that caviat Disney was all for sora being in smash
I have a feeling it probably had more to do with the cost to the rights to Donald and Goofy than some arbitrary rule like that. Keep in mind every character that makes an appearance has to be negotiated and likely there's some kind of percent cost for every sale that comes with the use of the character. So to keep Sora and Kingdom hearts as inexpensive as possible, they only paid for Sora and the explicit Kingdom Hearts exclusive references. likely similar to why Kingdom Hearts 3 had to make a ton of changes to suit the needs of Disney's perspectives and it seems the games are moving in a direction to minimize Disney's impact on the story, but we'll see what happens in KH4. Still a shame they couldn't have Donald and Goofy cameo as they're so important to the series.
It’s like how Nickelodeon All Star Brawl censored Jenny’s Pre Battle dialogue that referenced a suggestive video on Newgrounds and MultiverSUS changing Velma from calling the cops on her opponents to calling the Mystery Machine instead and another reason I think its because Lebron James is in the game lmao.
The jenny line wasn't referencing a zone video it was the actual episode of the series. The zone parody was just based on an episode but most people on the internet remember the parody more then the actual original episode.
11:31 Misconseption, Disney would have been fine with having some of their cartoon characters in Smash, I was Sakurai who didn’t want it. Also fun fact, the censored Sora station of awakening design was made by Squareenix themselves during an anniversary celebration of Kingdom Hearts, so its not a new design.
My head is spinning let me get this straight. Lyn is actually 15, she was censored to be 18 in international releases, and in game she sounds like she 30? I'm.. I...
Still frustrates me that they have to toned down zero suit samus breast and her body type along with snake’s ass being toned down as well. Meanwhile: pyra and Mythra chest size remains untouched.
By the time Pyra and Mythra came out, they probably realized neutering female anatomy for censorship was even MORE misogynistic than just leaving it be. There are women IRL with naturally large breasts after all. Good call on keeping Pyra and Mythra's anatomy intact.
i still remember reading some posts on twitter back when samus's breasts were nerfed and was given muscles and people ate that shit up saying it was lore accurate when there is ZERO proof on samus being muscular with in game images of zss as proof of her being slim at most. Anything that showed samus as "muscular" was some outdated 90s image most of the time. I think most metroid fans that run discourses are probably emasculated millenials who nut at the thought of a woman overpowering them
Yeah most swears are swears because of some offensive variant of the term. The location is only really censored because of religious connotation but is otherwise inoffensive, but saying it a certain way as an explicitive kind of comes across as condeming someone or something. It's also like how some words can't be used because of the fact that people call others the word in an offensive way, even if the original word isn't offensive in the slightest. Sadly, with how much people like to make insults social propaganda against people of various cultures (like Karen.... which people still insist on using as a swear despite just being a girl's name), we'll have the whole english language censored because people just have to find every way to be rude to each other. Really is a shame.
funny random thing about the snake and ZSS nerf, other characters ended up getting an upgrade due to base model changes at the time. characters of the more furry disposition such as certain Pokemon, Starfox and even mario characters ended up being changed model wise between brawl and ultimate somewhere to increase their... assets. (something that is especially noticeable on wolf.) most people might not notice it as they wont bother looking too hard for fear of being called a furry, personally i just always found it funny regardless of that.
The part of DK 64 rating is a little bit understandable, cause recently when kriby 64 was released for NSO, they put a T rate cause of blood (the final boss) and in the original release is E rated
The Requirements for an e rating are more strict nowadays i guess. So now even a bit of blood right at the end of a game is enough to move the rating up? Honestly i'm not surprised.
In terms of the DK Rap, as we remember, it appeared in Melee first, almost 2 decades before Ultimate. So, if anything, blame the "heck of a guy" line on Melee. The real problem with the DK Rap in Ultimate was the fact that they axed Lanky and Chunky's lines and the "take it to the fridge" lines in Smash 4 and Ultimate. Also, in terms of the song "His World" from Sonic 06 being censored could also be due to the fact that Sonic 06 isn't on a Nintendo console unlike other modern era songs, such as Sonic Heroes (GameCube) and any other game post Sonic 06 that made its way onto a Nintendo console.
no, the his world censorship was definitely because of the "ass" lyric. if it was because it wasn't on a nintendo console, it probably wouldn't be in the game at all.
11:15 if anything, Nintendo should be suing Disney, for stealing their character (in this case, Rosalina), and renaming her Elsa! Something of note I don’t hear many talking about!
Errors 1) Lyn's age on her trophy was only changed in the PAL version of Brawl (no kidding), you even show footage of the North American version 2) I love how you was too lazy too show Peach's upskit in Melee and Brawl (wait) 3) How is removing a face of a Boo on the cribe censorship? 4) I think the reason why poor Yoshi was removed in the German cover of Ultimate was to have room for the game's age rating 5) 7:05 In Ultimate, there is no black void 6) 9:20 It was also changed in later versions of DK64 7) Removing Donald and Goofy isen't censorship 8) 12:10 They coulden't have Kirby with Mickey's ears because Kirby is inhaling Sora, not Mickey 9) I'm pretty sure the Wario-Man "censorship" is just a hoax 10) Mai's absence was due of the game's age rating in Japan from CERO 11) Isabelle's reveal servers as a teaser trailer for Animal Crossing New Horizons, in which wasen't giving an E rating at the time 12) The Wii Fit Trainer with the sports bra is from Wii Fit Plus
The thing with Lyn’s age was actually something that was carried over from the western localizations of Blazing Blade, so the respective localizations of Smash just followed what their respective versions used (well except for Europe, which strangely used the Japanese age). But yeah quite of these examples he brought up honestly seem like absolute stretches, and even for the ones that aren’t stretches he overlooks a lot of information that would give further context, like the aforementioned incident with Mai and CERO for example.
It stems from Japan and America having different standards on what "middle age" meant. In the US, when he was described as a middle age man, we assumed he was around 35 or so, but in Japan, "Middle age" meant 25 ish. The Mario Movie kind of set things straight by showing he was a young man just trying to start his career which was timed well enough to make a lot of sense, as the old Mario movie from the mid 1990s showed more of what Americans expected in real life, Mario being a 40 year old owner of a plumbing company and Luigi being his young adult "brother" (son in the movie) who was just getting his start. It just wasn't fathomable that a 24 year old could be a successful plumber on thier own back then.
The actual reason why His World was the instrumental version was likely actually copyright too. Zebrahand's vocals would have been too much. It seems the same thing happened wirh Endless Possibilities, as neither returned with Frontiers. They might have done some different rules starting with Colors, so they can return.
In some ways but not others. part of it is just changing times and perspectives. Like religious references are not as big a deal today as they used to be, and light swearing is also mostly ignored, but for some reason, sexuality and anatomy is far more heavily censored. However I think that can be blamed more on failures of the industry weeding out general perspectives with misogyny. It seems that lately though, the idea of censoring anatomy is starting to drop as they are now allowing women to actually have breasts again...., but during the 2010s, they just listened to a lot of men with problems.
22:59 some Pokémon have there shiny versions, ivysaur definitely has theirs and others like pikachu and squirtle have Alts that are similar to their shiny variants
I actually don’t think the Donald and Goofy censorship is Disney’s fault. Sakurai has been extremely strict on the fact that Smash is for video game characters only. Anybody can get in, sure, but they have to have originated from a video game. If Donald and Goofy were to make a cameo or appear as part of Sora’s Final Smash, that’s opening the floodgates to people clamoring for non-video game picks like Goku and Shrek on the grounds that “Donald and Goofy were able to appear in Smash despite not being video game characters, so that’s why Goku should be added”. Considering the shit like genuinely wanting Goku, Shrek, SpongeBob, etc. has really died down over the last several years, the last thing I think Sakurai wants to do is add more fuel to a dying flame.
That is a great idea, modding your switch. I should do that too cause I myself do not should not be making any creepy face when playing this game at all.
If I remember correctly in the Guidance for Ridley in japanese they compare Ridley to Kirby and Viridi marks that the distinction is that Ridley is part of a group of pirates while Kirby doesn't belong to an organization.
Rip Star warriors from Kirby's Right back at ya.... XD (in fairness, that concept wasn't ever established as canon to the games, but who knows with Galacta Knight and the Aeon variants)
The word "hell" and the place "Hell" are two different things. Here in the US, the former is often considered a swear word, even if one of the lowest possible caliber.
The Zero Suit Samus thing acrually isn't as big a cencor as you'd think! If you're wearing a skintight bodysuit, some of your less "firm" body parts are gonna be compressed pretty heavily. Ultimate's ZSS design is actually a closer representation of what Samus would look like in her Zero Suit.
That part about how "Xenoblade X was never supposed to be a Xenoblade game" is a myth, there are no interview statements or official material to support that.
18:31 okay you can't tell me that it was obvious that this was a fan version of the character. I can barely see any differences in the pixels and yet everyone is acting like this was an obvious fan creation. I don't know if that was the case but still I can see how this would be an oversight from the developers since I can't even tell trying to look at the differences.

33:08 just a correction on Kazuya: they didn't mistranslate it. Kazuya actually says something different in Smash:
"Koko wa Kisama no Hakaba da!" which does translate to "this will be your Burial Ground" (or "This will be your Tomb), The "You Bastard" part actually is just one interpretation of the word "kisama" which is actually just a very aggressive way to say "you", it's often translated as "you bastard" because of the aggressive tone, but the direct translation of word itself really just means "you".
👆Wow Congratulations 🎊🎊

Of course, you'll note that M. Bison also says this in Street Fighter IV when doing his Ultra 1.
@@budgetcoinhunter yeah, and to further exemplify, Rukia in Bleach constantly uses Kisama to refer to others, she's not calling every single person around her a bastard, she's just showing an abrasive personality.
@@ArynBacklogDragonthe way Kazuya says it tho sounds like he's calling refer to you as a bastard
For the Disney characters, they should’ve made it up by including Duck Hunt on the stage, as it has the highest resemblance to Donald and Goofy.
it's also worth mentioning that this was during the era of the n64, where stuff like ganondorf spitting blood in ocarina of time would just slip by
I always wondered why hell is a bad word... Like c'mon, it's literally something you'd find every religious people say
Ok I used to dislike Square for the music censorship and stuff but thats pretty based letting the originators to have the ownership
This is also likely the reason no C418 songs made it in with Minecraft - even more so since he and Microsoft have had a falling out

@@jacobs5546 you got me on that. (Then again, how many people are going to know the names of Red and Leaf, especially when some of their alt. costumes are references to other protags of the series.

Mostly because the ghosts are all friends of Pacman while the original Pacman was clearly an enemy of them (with some mutual respect). as well as the new pac friends we never see. Im thankful they kept Mythra and Pyra's proportions and jiggle phisics
11:48
Is that Epic Mickey? I never thought I would be reminded of that game.
Yeeeeeeeeeeeeeees!!!!
Fun kirby fact in the first kirby game you did not have copy abillities but in the next game sakurai wanted kirby to stand out more
To add on the kirby keyblade stuff, mario literally holds the keyblade in the reveal trailer
Yeah, that's cus he is a chosen one, duh. Have you ever played Kingdom Hearts before?

and Shadow the Hedgehog got an E10 mostly because of the guns shooting real bullets being replaced with lasers and the human GUN soldiers not dying on screen (they merely faint but they added sounds of them moaning and allow them to be revived) and removing all blood or having the alien blood be green. The swears were the least of their worries.
Regarding Peach's black void under her dress--it wasn't that way back in Melee. Back in Melee, you could actually see under her dress and see her underwear. Especially if she got flipped over or hit in the right way.

11:43 could have been square or Nintendo’s choice
Sakurai’s rule is you have to originate from a game to be in smash so maybe removing Disney references was part of that caviat
Disney was all for sora being in smash

Still frustrates me that they have to toned down zero suit samus breast and her body type along with snake’s ass being toned down as well. Meanwhile: pyra and Mythra chest size remains untouched.
I guess you can argue it’s because Samus is wearing a skintight catsuit so it looks like her body is slimmer, but it still seems inconsistent
Pyra and Mythra are mother material, that's why. ❤😂
to be fair, there is a disctinction between hell as a place and hell as a expletive

Lonk is NOT older than Viridi. Viridi is a goddess. She is centuries old at least.
@@christianleon7311 But Link LOOKS older than her. Appearance is all people care about anymore.
MARIO’S 26?!? I THOUGHT HE WAS OVER FORTY!!! Poor guy, looks so old and yet is so young…..
16:55 fun fact : in france , andros is a compote brand
The actual reason why His World was the instrumental version was likely actually copyright too. Zebrahand's vocals would have been too much. It seems the same thing happened wirh Endless Possibilities, as neither returned with Frontiers.
They might have done some different rules starting with Colors, so they can return.
9:43 lemme guess: E was less strict than it is now
In some ways but not others. part of it is just changing times and perspectives.
@@MarioMastarWe don't like this censorship, man is this internet really horny for big breasts, It's not just the rating but also the internet too.
No way bro called Ryuji “Ryugi”
"No shiny Pokémon costumes"
*Incineroar would like to have a word with you*
👆Wow Congratulations 🎊🎊
You have been selected among my shortlisted winners🎁INBOX ME💬
21:15 That’s… not how you pronounce Ryuji’s name. It’s a “soft g” sound, not a “hard g”.
22:59 some Pokémon have there shiny versions, ivysaur definitely has theirs and others like pikachu and squirtle have Alts that are similar to their shiny variants
And incin
Snake's old final smash was amazing... If they didn't want the gun, they could make him do fingerguns
That would've made it SO much more epic. XD
Considering the shit like genuinely wanting Goku, Shrek, SpongeBob, etc. has really died down over the last several years, the last thing I think Sakurai wants to do is add more fuel to a dying flame.
the censorship is a big reason why i modded my switch. it doesn't look or feel right at all to me
That is a great idea, modding your switch. I should do that too cause I myself do not should not be making any creepy face when playing this game at all.
Yoshi was removed from the German box art due to needing to fit the guidelines for their rating system!
19:10 hitting yeti isn't great either.
My headcanon is that that mass of sparkles *is* what Kirby's keyblade would look like if he was chosen by one.
In the German Version, there is Green(it is FSK 12(simelar to pegi 13)) and yoshi is Green too, so they removed him.
While I do slightly prefer her look in Smash 4, her design in Ultimate is still great! I love Samus and her catsuit, it’s always so sleek and cool

That part about how "Xenoblade X was never supposed to be a Xenoblade game" is a myth, there are no interview statements or official material to support that.
Yo. It's been a while since you uploaded the latest video! Glad that you're back!
15:45 I DIDN'T SEE THE TOP OF THE BAG I DIDN'T SEE THE TOP OF THE BAG OMFG
18:31 okay you can't tell me that it was obvious that this was a fan version of the character. I can barely see any differences in the pixels and yet everyone is acting like this was an obvious fan creation. I don't know if that was the case but still I can see how this would be an oversight from the developers since I can't even tell trying to look at the differences.
The word hell was allowed in DK 64 because the e10+ rating hadn’t been created yet, being introduced in 2005.
