  • Fishing On the Ambush out of Kailua Kona! we catch a big Ahi Tuna on the green stick and catch a bonus marlin on the lures.

    YESSAH!! Always nice to see another one of your adventures. Makes me think about the next trip to Big Island (13 months!!). Looks like you guys had fun. Mahalo for sharing this adventure. Take care and look forward to the next one (archery bull? Still need to hear the story!)

      lol maybe soon I have a few more videos before tha archery elk and don’t know if I have enough footage for that video🤣 that hunt was a hard one and I did some filming but the spot and stalk on that elk was a race to beat the sunset clock🤣 so no good footage of the bull or the harvest🤙🏽 but stories I have

      Yeah I probably could have done a better job at videoing the screen stick and the rest of the set up bad camera man’s skills

    what is the green stick set up on the Ambush? I have not seen that set up. Can you provide some picks or drawings with tackle?

      The green stick is a tuna secret weapon🤣🎣 i stand corrected but originated in Japan! Used for tuna! As the comments below a lot of much more knowledgeable people have responded 🤣🤙🏽 thanks for the history of the green stick and all of that makes a lot of sense

      Green stick method originated from okinawan fishermen. The first "birds" used japanese locking jointery and were made from sections of post and beam construction.

      Green stick originated from Japan its gets its name green stick because the stick was made from green bamboo, I fish a greenstick in the north Atlantic for tuna .it didn't originate from Hawaii
