- In this video We get into some epic Marlin Ahi Tuna Mahi fishing off the coast of the Big island. We use various fishing techniques to catch a variety of pelagic fish. using methods like dangle, Palu ahi, Trolling, live baiting.

Thank you I appreciate that!🤙🏽🎣 the reels we are using in this video is a locally made reel in hawaii called a reaper reel!
What are the dangle arms called ? Id love to get a couple on my boat
That’s what the. And is dangler🤣 these are home made some use steel also but they will rust the ones used here are stainless and I made them bent 2” stainless pipe and drilled with stainless eye bolts. I don’t believe I have seen them sold anywhere by companies
how much lbs test you use for your make dog?
Really depends on my set up I use a variety of different sizes depending on weight and fish

When you say commercial breakdown not quite sure what you mean? Sometime I love to get more footage but being a part time job usually need to work the full time job next day🤣 so usually pretty tired and just want fish unloaded🤣 but always down to hear suggestions for the videos so can you give me some examples?

Garrick, Smart transferring your Chill Water to the truck Box, .... were you close to 800 lbs. ? ....
We harvested over 3000lbs on this trip the box in the truck holds over 2k lbs and we still had a bunch of fish in the box that we needed to come back for and deliver to another fish market it was a good trip🤣🤙🏽👍🏽🎣🌊
What permits do you need to fish like this?
As of now residents need to purchase a commercial fishing license to sell fish but if fish is not sold no permits needed non residents as of now do no need permits to fish but will need a fishing license soon

@@broken2bones well as of right now you don’t need a permit they passed the law recently but have not set up a place to purchase a permit I believe they are still going thru the process of figuring out what a license will cost sometimes I take friends out but generally this type of fishing get to be a long trip and most don’t like being on the water as long as I stay out🤣🤙🏽

All depends but average about 5kts

There’s no real set distance where ever the fads are will really be the deciding factor of what type of fish will possibly show up but when your 900plus fathoms or more has more chance of gettting tuna🤙🏽👍🏽
