This is hands down the most efficient, sustainable, and ecologically responsible way to harvest these animals. To those of you who are arguing "try catching one with real fishing equipment blah blah blah", please take into account that these guys aren't sport fishing, and also, (if you've ever even been out big game fishing) think about the last time you got spooled by a fish and the animal you killed by letting that occur. It's true bluefins are in a whole lot of trouble, but until they are on the actual endangered species list, people are allowed to fish for and keep them according to the laws of the country they sail out of. If you have an issue I recommend bothering the fine people over at the National Marine Fisheries Service or the National Oceanic And Atmospheric Administration Fisheries division, and maybe refrain from whining about it on someone's TH-cam video.
