- Hey everyone this video is a fishing technique called Ikashibi Ika in Japanese is squid. Shibi is tuna. So Ikashibi Use squid for bait for tuna! lots of good action and I give you my tuna ceviche recipe with a good catch and cook video hope you enjoy the video.

Yessir!!! Yeah it’s pretty crazy at some time we are changing bait every 5 min because the squid are highly cannibalistic so in 5 min the live squid is eaten! Thanks for watching 🤙🏽🎣

I still have your old wellcraft. It’s been a good boat to me I’m currently in the process of rebuilding it.i ripped out the floor it turns out the tank had a hole in it 🤦♂️I going make it flush deck all new transom, stringers, fuel tank and building in a fish box and dash. So how is the line set up? Is the squid alive or dead? How many fathoms of line are out? Great hands in style fishing! Enjoyed it!
This style is rope baskets lots of different ways to set it up no real right or wrong way to set it up😂 I like squid live but dead squid opelu all types of baits work we generally use about 3-4 lines and at night the lines are out from 10-40 fathoms and glad you enjoyed the video🤙🏽
Love your vids' but every time, I just wonder .... How do you choose the fishing spot, what depth and what ground structure are you looking for ? How do you find the currents, actually?
A lot of it is just time on the water. But having a network of fishermen that have been out recently current direction being on the up side of the current of ledges that create upwelling’s and then checking those ledges visually to locate the fish but all of that comes down to how much time you spend on the water currents can be figured out roughly by boat speed while driving but the real current speeds and direction will come from putting the sea a hot or parachute in and figuring out the drift normally your boat will go with current with the sea anchor in the water unless there is no current in which case the boat will follow wind. But if there is a current of .25-.5 kts or more you will drift with the current while on the parchute hope that helps🤙🏽👍🏽🌊

In this video there is no structure we are just drifting the currents usually on a ledge somewhere 🤙🏽🎣

How deep do you drop the line?
At night it’s usually not very deep fish come to the light so I usually am at 10-20 fathoms some other go to 40 at times but I’m usually at 1020🤙🏽👍🏽🎣

Hahah yeah night filming for ahi pretty tough I tried getting the best footage possible without completely scaring off the ahi. Flashing lights everywhere is not the best for fishing but no lights is bad for filming but I tried to get what I could with what I had 🤷🏽♂️ still working on how to make the videos better🤙🏽 self filming and fishing and hunting not always the easiest thing to do😂 mahalos for the comment though👍🏽
