FG cleats sometimes stick in the AG surface. You're at greater risk for injury. Other than that, it shouldn't make that big of difference. You'll be fine.
thank you man you helped me so much, the place where im gonig to play has an artificial turf and i got FG cleats, and i wasn't sure if i needed different ones, thanks you are a life saver
great vid but two problems (1). No examples of the shoes associated with the playing surface for example this shoe is for this field etc you could have at least shown an example or two and (2). It's too short
Thanks a lot for the video! I've been looking all over the web to know what type of soccer shoes I should buy. I'm glad you mentioned the FGs were the most common ones, that's exactly what I needed to know. Thanks.
Using FG cleats on AG/turf could cause serious injuries to your legs if you slip or the studs get stuck in the ground when your trying to turn. Its better to use the proper type of boot on which ever surface your playing on
I live in Ireland and our football season is during the winter and ends in summer like all the main European seasons. I always have a pair of SG and FG boots. SG for the winter when it is wet and the ground is soft. Then coming into summer I use FG (moldies) when the ground starts get get hard. Our pitch now has 3 artificial pitches that we train on when in the evenings when it gets dark early. I use my FG boots on it and haven't had any problems. I did tear my ligaments while on it but that was due to a very bad tackle. They seem fine to me but I would see why people would by AG boots to use on it. It's just we don't play games and train on it all the time, so I ain't wasting money on HG boots.
I didnt knew that even studs have the qualities fg sg i thought just to play studs matter but after watching these video i have understood to choose a proper studs thanks bro .......
Dude thanks a ton, have some mercurial super flys FG, my high school coach started our team up on an indoor team during winter, the only problem was they called it plastic grass, but they said it was on dirt...... So thanks for clearing some things up, gonna go buy some SG and tell them to shove it.
Listen, AG surfaces have been around a lot longer than shoes designed to play on them. When I played at uni we had an artificial surface and there were not AG cleats, I don't remember there being any problems. This guys is right, AG boots might suit you better, but if you're going to play on both surfaces you're probably better off with FGs....Why blow money on both, unless your loaded. I just got some hypervenoms so I'll let you know how they do on AG. Thanks for the video though.
I've met people who tend to carry a FG, AG and SG boot in their bag, purely in cases where certain clubs/schools may have a different surface to the one at their club/school. Also as to the point where he said "if you're playing on multiple surfaces your best bet would be FG" that is incorrect, you're best bet would be a cheap-ish pair of boots in each stud plate, meaning a pair in FG, SG, AG and HG/Turf
Don't use FG on AG because you will toren something. I used the FG on a AG and I felt my knee shifting thanks God my knee did not hurt and got swollen. Also my ankles suffered a lot because of the too much grip and blocking. I never had problems playing soccer so why now that I'm playing on AG surface?
on a different video though. I followed your advice on getting cleats that was exact fit. with Adi F50.. the fit felt good for a short while but i wouldn't recommend it I got my big toe bleeding twice falling out in one year due to no room for toes..
the new adidas shoes don't have the pocket for the micoach chip in the firm ground ,,, and i really need it,,, any solution? can i use the hard ground in ag and fg?
What cleats would you recommend for a goalkeeper we play in grass field but around my 6 box when it rain it does get muddy at times and this year we might start playin in turf field I'm getting both magista obra and Superfly thanks!
Hey there. I'm wanting to buy two boots this year. One mainly training. Would it be good to have a sg boot and a fg boot. Also can you play sg boots on fg
Hi, I mistakenly bought my son a turf soccer shoes but he is playing indoors on a school gym/basketball hard surface and he is already in love with the color and style of what we got, question is can he still use them? The shoes is: Adidas - Messi 15.4 TF J. Please let me know asap. TY!
Hey soccer post, I play on varsity for my high school and I was wondering if I chose the Nike mercurial vapor 9 would be a good choice for a CDM/CAM. Usually we travel to other high schools with firm grounds. Should I get the Nike mercurial vapor 9,Adidas f50 (Messi edition), or Nike tiempo?
because i brought adizero f50 but it half half as it has half molds and have metallic studs is that fine, i asked the guy he said it should be fine as only the difference is that he said some people like to take their studsoff as they might want to change them is that correct or should i change them
Are Firm Ground or Turf Shoes or hard ground better on artificial grass for kids? Any suggestions on soccer shoes for kids on artificial grass? Thanks.
Iam gona buy the new vapor xi I play on ag but also pretty much on fg then should I go for the fg??? my adidas predator lz works very good on ag white fg but does the vapor work on ag white the fg?????
Can someone please explain me the difference between artificial grass and (astro)turf? I can't fine anything relevant. It is astonishing how these terms are used interchangeably!!!
Delkomo They are not the same. I am not sure why anyone here is saying they are. AG is the newest stuff, it actually has some length to it so cleats can dig in (FG ones anyway). Astroturf is like a capet with no length at all to the material.
AstroTurf is what you’ll find at most soccer/football 5 a side centres... for example the Goals soccer centres in the UK have short style Astro. The artificial grass is a longer pile grass and looks more like the real thing than the Astro at the soccer centre mentioned above.
i need shoes for concrete... or very hard hround of grass. i have wide feet. and i prefer nike. so i was thinking hypervenom phade tf or phelon ic.. please reply fast :). i have heard mercurials are not broad soo i chose hypervenom.
Since you have wide feet, Hypervenom football boots will work really good. For hard ground surface with grass, you should get TF, but if you are going to be playing indoor and also outside then get IC.
i rushed into buying an fg boots that costs me 200$ wish is the Adidas F50 ,, then i tried it on an Ag and it hurt me sooo bad ! + the coach said that the FG is not allowed so 200$ for nothing >< i ended up buying nike ctr360 the cheap one ( TF ) wish is ok ! cuz they don't sell AG boots where i live .. thx anyway
I bought this ctr360 enganche 3 fg. my friends told me that those shoes are not good for hard ground.i mainly play on hard grounds.so can i use those shoes one hard grounds??
Would be better if you could atleast show some pics of the types of grounds/fields for each type.
nitarsh and show some shoes.. youre at a soccer shop! lol
Exactly
This made me feel way better. Finally someone saying you've ordered the correct shoe.

Thanks for the question. Yes, Mercurial Vapors are a very nice boot.
I live in Ireland and our football season is during the winter and ends in summer like all the main European seasons. I always have a pair of SG and FG boots. Thanks man!! My doubts are gone now...
SG's do not work on FG. However, you can where FG's on Soft Ground. Not the best, but they'll work.
should I use SG on hard dry dirt pitches?

speed boots (mercurials, adizero) usually have narrow fit
If you are on the astro turf, not artificial grass, I would suggest the basic adidas sambas or adidas mundial goals, for wide feet.
i love this guy,, hes good presenter

Astro turf is more like indoor/outdoor carpet....artificial grass or field turf is synthetic grass on a rubber base.
Nice video. Even better if you came with the difference cleats on you hands

Don't use FG on AG because you will toren something. I used the FG on a AG and I felt my knee shifting thanks God my knee did not hurt and got swollen. Also my ankles suffered a lot because of the too much grip and blocking. I never had problems playing soccer so why now that I'm playing on AG surface?

the new adidas shoes don't have the pocket for the micoach chip in the firm ground ,,, and i really need it,,, any solution? can i use the hard ground in ag and fg?
