If you buy your label from eBay under the eBay standard envelope program then you can print the label from eBay either using a label printer or taping it to the front of the envelope. As long as you buy the postage through eBay then you don’t have to wait in line at the USPS. You can just drop it off at any mailbox since it’s already paid postage.

Hi there. As long as you purchase and print the label from eBay after the item sells and select the eBay standard envelope option, then yes it has tracking. But be advised that it’s not always 100% reliable as some items will show as not delivered when they in fact are delivered. Just the nature of the plain white envelope’s and depends on whether or not it gets scanned correctly at the USPS.

I’ll have to try that. Getting GOOD.l inventory at an affordable price (where you can make profit) has been getting harder and harder through eBay lately but still finding creative ways to do it.

Good tips thanks for watching! I’ve found that a lot of it comes back to sourcing inventory and finding the right cards at the right price..which is increasingly harder to do it it’s just through eBay. But I’ve been finding some more ways to keep those costs down. Thanks for the comment.

Hi there. Thanks so much for watching and for the support. The most I usually do in a Plain white envelope under the eBay standard envelope (under $20) is usually 4 cards, but others have sent more in various ways..for example in a longer envelope with two piles of cards side by side and taped to the envelope. I don’t do this because it feels a little too bootstrapped for me. Another option is to split the order into two smaller envelopes. You can print a new label on eBay for any order and then send 3 cards in 1 envelope, 3 in another, and upload the second tracking number to the appropriate cards. I personally don’t do padded (bubble) mailers through eBay standard envelope. Per USPS you aren’t supposed to, and even though some sneak by depending on the post office, I don’t want to risk being inconsistent. What I do is either split the cards in multiple plain white envelope’s as I mentioned, or use a bubble mailer and send ground advantage. I don’t have much under 1.99..so for 6 cards at 1.99 I usually have enough of a margin to use a small bubble mailer and send ground advantage. Hope this helps!

It’s hard to say what’s “ normal” because so many sellers vary on their profit margins and what they consider a successful sale based on the profit they make. If the $1.10 is the net after all expenses, including shipping supplies and the cost of the card, then that’s a good amount of profit. But if that net amount is the net amount on your eBay reports before you’ve subtracted other expenses, then it’s hard to know what the true net profit is if that makes sense.

@@dzLuci Yepperz! Eventually will use a database because sheets is klunky once you get too much data, but works great for now and is FREE.

@@dzLuci SQL lends itself well to tables which is a good format for the types of data you typically need for a sports card business (I.e., shipping tables, eBay sales, purchases, etc.) so that would be better in my opinion. But way overkill until your google sheet is mostly non-functioning because it’s too large…like 100,000+ rows large, and even then you can probably archive past years datasets to make room for more.

@@CardZooSportsCards Not my own website, but a store in eBay. I'm selling on my user id listing vs having a store like you do. I haven't looked at cost impacts/advantages/disadvantages to that yet. I've only been doing this for a week or so and I'm just looking ahead.

Gotcha. Honestly, when you exceed the listings amount for the free version then that’s when it’s time in my opinion. Yeah there’s benefits to having a “storefront” but for $22/months currently with the cheapest option they offer, I wouldn’t do it until you have too many listings and need to avoid insertion fees. Plus keeping it small while just starting out helps you focus more on trying to add the right inventory and not just adding cards for the sake of having more inventory. Hope that helps!

It depends on what printer/computer you have. To actually print on the envelope itself you usually don't need a separate program...but will just need to figure out how to configure your printing settings in your computer when the print dialogue box open after you click print. The reason i'm using Canva, which is a separate program, is because I have to resize it for some reason to get it to print right with my printer...but you probably don't have to do that depending on what setup you have. I would just google search how to print on an envelope with the printer that you have and you should be able to find something. Good luck!

Hi there. You can list cards with whatever shipping option you want (i.e., ground advantage, ebay standard envelope) and also charge whatever price you want. The "requirements" and "costs" elements come into play when you go to actually print the label. So, if you've listed an item to be sold with a bubble mailer, and that's what you're going to ship with when someone buys the item, then you'll have to pay the USPS Ground Advantage rate when buying the shipping label in ebay, which is around $4-$5 or so depending on where it's being sent....so if you're going to use a bubble mailer to ship the item to someone, you may want to charge a shipping price so that you don't have to eat the entire shipping cost when someone buys the card. One thing I’ve noticed though is that I feel like the mirrors/wheels inside get more scratches on them with the more top loaders that I scan… Probably because it is a tighter fit and because they are a tougher material than just the card and penny sleeve, but yes, it will work! Unfortunately, it does happen with this scanner sometimes. There's some things you can do to mitigate it that I talked about in this video th-cam.com/video/giHTKip8oEE/w-d-xo.html, but at the end of the day it won't be gone 100%..so sometimes you have to rescan, flip around the card, clean the scanner, etc.

@@PooreSportsCards interesting. When I get lines on the sleeve with the Epson it doesn’t go through to the card. One thing to keep in mind is that many of these scanners aren’t built to be sports card scanners (I.e., having the wheels removed and scanning cards with penny sleeves and even top loaders sometimes)..so a less than perfect result is expected. I just expect to have to scan cards multiple times sometimes and do frequent cleaning to ensure I get the best pics. You might wanna try a different penny sleeve too..some are cheaper/more flimsy and weak than others.

It definitely can. I've scanned with and without the penny sleeves and it can leave lines in some cases. I'm not sure about other scanners...once I'm ready to upgrade this one will probably look into a Ricoh...but thats a couple years away. JMac Sports Cards did a video on how to setup the Epson and remove the one wheel piece th-cam.com/video/P7fvqTtR3_k/w-d-xo.html. Haven't done my own video yet because his was so good. Overall, I wouldn't let the lines deter you from purchase, but checking a few other options wouldn't hurt. At the end of the day, these scanners weren't built to have parts removed and still work as intended...so some issues are expected. Despite the need for consistent cleaning/rescans sometimes, it works great and the photo quality is exceptional. If you go a different route than the Epson let me know! Good luck.

It depends on what you're wanting to track..I have a lot general things that most businesses would track like Gross/Net Sales Year over Year, Cards sales month over month/year over year. I also have more specific data related to the collections that I buy like how close I am to recouping the money from that collection based on my net sales, and also just started tracking the date that I recoup that collection because I want to know how long (on average) it takes me to make my money back. I would ask yourself "what do I want to know about my sales?" and then find out what data you need to answer that question. Analyzing data starts with wanting to answer a business question:). It takes a lot of leg work on the front end for sure. You can always run things manually every month based on eBay sales/fees/ your own expenses, but it would be pretty cumbersome as you sold more and more.

@@CardZooSportsCards will do :) hope that means the algos are in your favor today. hope ya see some good gains. thanks for the card. if ya see something in my store. will return the favor and come closer to your side as well. enjoyed your video. but your spreadsheet knowledge is far superior to mine :) i use a couple of multi platform inventory software. gave up on skus as not all sites let you use them. now i have "free" software that tracks the items and which sites they are cross posted on. when 1 sells it delists it from ebay mercari fb etc. ya can add the cost of goods, marketplace cost, tax, shipping, and i have an other for supplies ie top loader enevelopes etc. been helpful for tax time
