    Absolutely agree with your bildgewater- and condensation-arguments.

      Thank you! You wouldn't believe how many people disagree just because they can't stretch themselves enough to realize that this boat is not the classic weekend fishing boat, but rather an unusual construction with its own rules.

    I was going to ask you if you had ever seen Roys boat "Diane's Rose"...too funny! I have talked to Roy about his other boat "Crow" many times, trying to get his input on a 24' version. Roy's a great guy!

      Can't agree more, the man is awsome! I can't wait to see his new, tiny version of Diane's Rose beeing finished!

    Some very clever thinking coupled with top notch woodworking skills. You couldn’t buy a door of that quality and the fact that used a lot of scrap and reclaimed materials makes it even more impressive. Great content and editing as well!

      Thank you! I appreciate your interest and kind words! It is a lot of work but I am enjoying it!

    Another source of moisture can come from the elements: rain. Entering the boat with wet gear will add water. A second one can be just ordinary human error: forgetting to close a skylight or hatch. A manual pump with a flexible intake hose should be stored aboard in case of unforeseen surprises. Looking good btw.

      Yes, and there are many more potential sources of humidity, enough to fill a book actually. I agree, a manual pump, as well as multiple bilge pumps should be installed for actual emergency situations. (One is already installed, which you can see in a later video) That being said, rainwater entering the boat is just as unacceptable as it would be with a house. There are realistic and dangerous sources of water and humidity and then there is a whole world of unlikely or easy to deal with situations. Over the years I came to the conclusion that people have very different ideas about how to categorize them and where to set their priorities. This was just my take on this topic in relation to this unusual construction.
      Thanks for watching!

    It’s great to see you back on the project. As one of those who inquired about the bilge issues, I got a great deal of useful information especially about condensation. I was unaware of the 9volt water sensors, very good item to have. Also that door you built looks wonderful. I love the horizontal planks. Thanks for this post and the information. Keep up the great work!!! 👍👍👍. Hope to see more.

      Something went wrong with your comment regarding the book, but I got it in my email notifications. Thank you for the suggestion! I will look into it!

    You do great work. I think you should look into a patent for that pocket door latch. It is a brilliant idea.

    Roy's boat is small and has less room than a caraboat,cardboard, it has excellent sea keeping abilities, he doesn't hesitate to go into rough water with a 9.9 horse outboard

    Excellent craftsmanship. But doesn't a pocket door reside in a pocket within the wall? I'm taking notes of that mechanism for the future use.

    • @adrianwoodworm
      @adrianwoodworm  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes you are right. The second layer of the wall to make it an actual pocket door will come in the future, I just didn't get to it yet.

      @@adrianwoodworm with the vent I wasn't sure. But the problem with rolling doors is the loss of wallspace in a small environment.
      I think I have my rack (bolt) and pinion (critter proof?) stall door figured out. Should have it finished tonight.

    • @adrianwoodworm
      @adrianwoodworm  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@benjaminbrewer2154 great attention to details Benjamin! I am sure most people would not have picked up on that! The vent is positioned like that intentionally. I also agree to your argument regarding the space a pocket door takes up in a small space like that! (Especially with a thick insulated door) stay tuned and I promise it will make more sense once you see the second wall and it's primary purpose🙂

    • @benjaminbrewer2154

      @@adrianwoodworm the vent becomes redundant once the door is opened. But you mentioned air exchange and you also mentioned a wood burner. Swinging a door near a stove might be dangerous. But I could be completely wrong about the layout.

    Sorry but a thin but insulated probably aluminum frame wood covered sliding cassette door a.k.a. integrated into the wall sliding door would have been nicer looking and better at closing airtight (two halves on each side is another possibility). In this simpler setup I would have gone for a swinging door, simply because it closes better then this outside of the structure hanging sliding door.
