I will always hate the Panthers for trading McCaffery to the Niners. Not only trading him but giving the Niners a laughably cheap deal on a generational talent. McCaffery isn't a mere Running Back. He's an offensive swiss army knife. He should have pulled multiple firsts and they didn't even get one for him. The Niners had no firsts at the time and therefore should have had no chance of getting him. Yet they still got him for a song anyway. And the rest of the NFC has been suffering the consequences ever since.
Because before the trade he was a BMW. Really good... But always hurt/in the shop. Plus he was on the largest contract for a RB in NFL history at the time.

Saying that drafting Bryce was "a collective decision by everybody" is literally the opposite of the truth. Reich and all the other coaches wanted to draft Stroud, but Tepper stepped in last-minute and overruled them in order to draft Bryce. So Tepper brought in a coach like Reich specifically for him to choose a QB to nurture and turn into franchise QB for this team, and Tepper just disregarded all of that and went with his own choice of QB that went against all of the coaches (you know, the football experts). Tepper is BY FAR the biggest problem with this team. The saddest part is that there is literally nothing us fans can do about it.
Two first and two seconds is a pretty good haul regardless but I think what really made it work so well was DJ Moore. Adding him in there basically guaranteed the Panthers season would be a disaster thereby adding more value to the picks they just got.

Man, Jake Delhomme is one of the most overlooked and underrated QBs the NFL has seen since 2000. The Panthers in Super Bowl XXXVIII was legendary. And the difference between that team and the team that went to Super Bowl 50 is night and day.
Besides Cam, QB development was a major issue. 2nd best qb in franchise history? Delhomme who nearly beat my Pats in 03 but had the 5 int game vs Arizona. 3rd? Probably Steve Beurhlein in 99?
@@johnchedsey1306 I don’t know where Bryce will rank in the all-time list of Panthers QBs, but I better hope for the franchise’s sake that when his tenure is up, he’ll join Cam and Delhomme at the top.
Chiefs fan in the UK....always had soft spot for the panthers and it's sad to see the demise from the superbowl loss - still watch the all or nothing series from 2018. Here's to a good game today!
I can never shake the feeling that game was rigged to insure Peyton got a ring. The Panthers have never been the darling of the league and neither has Cam Newton. Just like when we lost to Brady. You Plat exceptional ball the entire game and when it's on the line now all of a sudden your kicker decides he can't kick straight and gives Brady the ball on the 40 yd line. Really? And for the magic run in 2015 how you dominate every team the entire season now all of a sudden you forget how to win the most important game ever? Really?
I’m not excusing it but what may have happened is his body just froze due to stress in that moment and he couldn’t move sometimes that happens to me when someone drops something it wasn’t like he just stood there and shrugged his shoulders
I think the only thing that I really love about this video is that it finally shows people that Cam Newton did not just have a “one good season“. He’s arguably had two better seasons than his MVP season and his entire career was impressive. Unfortunately, a bad offensive line that never really protected him, the Panthers never putting any weapons around him until his final season and just overall bad luck led to his career being over sooner than it should’ve been. He easily could’ve been a Hall of Famer if he could’ve just been healthy long enough.
And he also played in an offense pre Turner that was run first and not about precise passing and high completion percentages. That's the reason why his career completion percentage is low
I can’t believe no one is talking about the broncos, specifically their defense that year was one of the best in NFL history. I know it’s not a video about the broncos but give them some respect bc the panthers didn’t just lose the Super Bowl… The Denver Broncos BEAT them
I remember when I couldn’t go anywhere without seeing a Seahawks or Panthers hat/jersey wearing “fan”. They stick to the shadows these days unless I’m visiting their home states. Used to be the biggest bandwagons outside of the patriots.
Cam refusing to jump on a loose ball in a Super Bowl is the most mind boggling play in the history of the game. Every ounce of your fiber is taught to do that from the first day you touch a pigskin.
The panthers are in a bad position, but I think given their position they hired the best possible coach as Dave Canales has worked wonders on Geno Smith and Baker Mayfield. Bryce Young still has a lot of talent and we have seen all time greats like Peyton Manning have terrible rookie campaigns. Give the panthers a couple of seasons and I think they could be a pretty good team
53:44 not only did the panthers have a chance to trade burns then but they also could have traded him instead of DJ moore ya know the only functional weapon but they said no because they wanted to extend him
Right, I always thought Young got a raw deal. "Hey good to meet you Bryce, okay so funny story, we traded away any picks and veteran talent they could've conceivably helped you to not get killed out there and if anything goes wrong, we're going to let people blame you, have fun out there "
Boy those 11-17 really were fun times as a Panthers fan. I think we will at least see Cam and Kuechly both make Hall of Fame. Im so glad I attended so many of these games
I go a couple years in between seeing the last strip sack play. Just enough time for me to forget how unbelievable it is cam didn’t dive for that ball.
The two teams I feel like never recovered after the 2015 season were the Arizona Cardinals and the Carolina Panthers. The matchup of the NFC Championship. The best year for both franchises. Let’s include the Falcons on this list because, you know, 28-3. That’s all u need to say lol
Seeing Christian McCaffrey get the cover of Madden today, definitely made me look back at that trade and wonder why the hell we gave up the best offensive weapon in football for so little.
As a Ravens fan, thank you for Steve Smith. As a football fan, Cam was a flash in the pan with a ton of potential that got wasted by the garbage can that is Ron Rivera.
As if that fumble would've made a difference if it had been recovered. What would Von Miller, Demarcus Ware, and their secondary just give up if Cam got that fumble? Even if he had, his brains would've been scrambled, and the results would've been the same.

I still remember being at Baylor, hearing Rhule say "I don't care how much money they throw at me, I have unfinished business here" just to leave weeks later. I was so happy when they failed with him
Cam was talented, he had great physical skills, sub par passing skills but his flaws are SO glaring that even in the 15-1 season, you just knew it would all catch up to him. Turn up the heat on someone immature and prone to sulking and they'll fold like a cheap suit.
True one of his weaknesses was he never grew up. He was a clown day one he's a clown today. Nothing changed. Another was he never worked to get better. He was the same horrible pocket passer day one as he was the last game he played. He never got better. That's on him. He got by because he ran people over. In the long run it kept him in the NFL but ended his time as well. He never learned to get down and live for another day.
@@larrylindgren9484definitely not true at all. 2018 season he definitely improved as a pocket passer.
Well. It seems like Bryce ain't so bad now
@ if I’ve learned anything throughout my lifetime as a Panthers fan, it’s that you should never get your hopes up too high, kid
as a Bears fan, I am still shocked the Bears didn’t get the crap end of this deal. I have never heard so much praise for a Bears trade.
Two first and two seconds is a pretty good haul regardless but I think what really made it work so well was DJ Moore. Adding him in there basically guaranteed the Panthers season would be a disaster thereby adding more value to the picks they just got.
@@bigbearkat2010we should've sent them our 2nd rounder of last year and our 3rd rounder this year instead of our 1st for this year. Could've gotten Marvin harrison
i met greg hardy at a hotel before. he was extremely respectful, calling my mom “ma’am”, and i even got a picture with him.
Best DE we ever had nobody was as good as him.. he had sacks every game after he hit the moment
Many, many athletes have a public side and a private side which are 180 degrees apart. See Simpson, Orenthal James.
First ive seen of any your videos, really good job man. Informative, humorous, factual with an individually creative flair. Not to mention how well made it is an how well it flows together. Excited to see more, Subbed.
Oh its Christmas Tubby dropped a video
Us Tubby Bubbies gotta look out for each other.
Cringe
You have such an amazing ability to add context to all of these random football facts. You really bring these stories to life
Man, Jake Delhomme is one of the most overlooked and underrated QBs the NFL has seen since 2000. The Panthers in Super Bowl XXXVIII was legendary. And the difference between that team and the team that went to Super Bowl 50 is night and day.
1:08 RIP Angry Grandpa
Besides Cam, QB development was a major issue. 2nd best qb in franchise history? Delhomme who nearly beat my Pats in 03 but had the 5 int game vs Arizona. 3rd? Probably Steve Beurhlein in 99?
Yeah, just look at how they've already stunted Bryce's growth.
@@NJP-EonPardonCogitoCo I see what you did there.
@@johnchedsey1306 I don’t know where Bryce will rank in the all-time list of Panthers QBs, but I better hope for the franchise’s sake that when his tenure is up, he’ll join Cam and Delhomme at the top.
Pats would have not won if john Kasey wasn't hurt
And, yeah, we all missed Luke. He was a beast. He was one of one. So was Cam. Sucks their careers were wasted.
Chiefs fan in the UK....always had soft spot for the panthers and it's sad to see the demise from the superbowl loss - still watch the all or nothing series from 2018. Here's to a good game today!
Yooo made my week Tub! Big ups from NZ 🇳🇿
Team Tubby Bubbies unite!
Really?
Never forget how cam newton jumped away from the fumble in the superbowl. Dude acted like it was a hand grenade.
He had a good rookie year with a terrible defense pre Kuechly, and he had a good 2013 season
And he also played in an offense pre Turner that was run first and not about precise passing and high completion percentages. That's the reason why his career completion percentage is low
I can’t believe no one is talking about the broncos, specifically their defense that year was one of the best in NFL history. I know it’s not a video about the broncos but give them some respect bc the panthers didn’t just lose the Super Bowl… The Denver Broncos BEAT them
I still think we should have given Cam more time.but Bryce is growing on me.
Its hilarious that no matter how hard they try to be better it always ends with them being a bottom feeder team
I remember when I couldn’t go anywhere without seeing a Seahawks or Panthers hat/jersey wearing “fan”. They stick to the shadows these days unless I’m visiting their home states. Used to be the biggest bandwagons outside of the patriots.
As Broncos fan, this is like watching a horror movie and knowing the killer is coming and being really excited for it.
How bout dem Broncs??
@@MilehighCLE216 still superbowl 50 champs.
Good videos, I hoping to see a Bengals Marvin Lewis era video in the future
This.
Cam refusing to jump on a loose ball in a Super Bowl is the most mind boggling play in the history of the game. Every ounce of your fiber is taught to do that from the first day you touch a pigskin.
Luck staying in college to avoid the panthers really worked out well
The panthers are in a bad position, but I think given their position they hired the best possible coach as Dave Canales has worked wonders on Geno Smith and Baker Mayfield. Bryce Young still has a lot of talent and we have seen all time greats like Peyton Manning have terrible rookie campaigns. Give the panthers a couple of seasons and I think they could be a pretty good team
I love how this finally aged. lol thank god!!!!!
I love your videos, Keep it up bro!
This is my first new video since ive found your channel. Im beyond pumped
53:44 not only did the panthers have a chance to trade burns then but they also could have traded him instead of DJ moore ya know the only functional weapon but they said no because they wanted to extend him
Right, I always thought Young got a raw deal. "Hey good to meet you Bryce, okay so funny story, we traded away any picks and veteran talent they could've conceivably helped you to not get killed out there and if anything goes wrong, we're going to let people blame you, have fun out there "
53:00 this did not age well
Boy those 11-17 really were fun times as a Panthers fan. I think we will at least see Cam and Kuechly both make Hall of Fame. Im so glad I attended so many of these games
Love these longer videos
Gotta love #TeamTubbyBubby
I go a couple years in between seeing the last strip sack play. Just enough time for me to forget how unbelievable it is cam didn’t dive for that ball.
The two teams I feel like never recovered after the 2015 season were the Arizona Cardinals and the Carolina Panthers. The matchup of the NFC Championship. The best year for both franchises.
Let’s include the Falcons on this list because, you know, 28-3. That’s all u need to say lol
Bills fan here. Let me know when the Panthers have a 17 year drought. They haven’t had it that bad.
Cam met his Doomsday. Great video. Can't wait for the season. Preemptive congratulations for 100k subs.
That christian mccaffrey trade still annoys the hell out of me
As a Seahawks fan, I'm equally annoyed.
Seeing Christian McCaffrey get the cover of Madden today, definitely made me look back at that trade and wonder why the hell we gave up the best offensive weapon in football for so little.
@@Haybud for real tho 🥲
As a Ravens fan, thank you for Steve Smith. As a football fan, Cam was a flash in the pan with a ton of potential that got wasted by the garbage can that is Ron Rivera.
And the outdated offense he was playing in before Norv came oc
A 7-win 2010 Panthers team winning the NFC South will always be epic 🏆

He didn’t steal that laptop he was just making sure it was secure model citizen 😂
Tepper is doing an absolutely fantastic job with Carolina! Keep it up!
Lmao!!!!
Keep it up my man
Carolina took a dive in the super bowl Cam Newton didn't even attempt to cover a fumble in a title game.
As if that fumble would've made a difference if it had been recovered. What would Von Miller, Demarcus Ware, and their secondary just give up if Cam got that fumble? Even if he had, his brains would've been scrambled, and the results would've been the same.
*Thats all you gonna bring up? Is that cause you don’t know or gaf to know? Juss sayin what most say*
I absolutely love your videos! you should do a video on the Jaguars franchise history.
What a great video on the rise of the panthers, watched all 28 minutes on content. I don’t know why the video says it’s 56 minutes tho… no way this franchise fell to pieces
Beason, kuechly, norman, thomas davis and they had some more studs too.
Forgot how stacked that d was to perform so poorly
tubfrog, i’ve been watching you since you put out the chargers video. you’re one of my favorite youtubers, and i feel like if you expanded to other sports like nba or mlb, you could become a really big channel. and obviously it would be on a different channel, since this one is strictly football. but i used to watch a series called collapse, where it would cover the collapse of teams after a dynasty, and i feel like if you made a series about that, it would be so great. i love watching youtube sports documentaries, and you’re my favorite channel that makes them! (no glaze btw)
I like the video but i wish you wouldve talked about greg olsen more. He was huge for the panthers back in the day. but appreciate the vid
He didn't only trigger the Panthers, but the whole nfc south 😂-Panthers fan(kms)
They need Cam back!
Tub your funny asf. Thank you for the entertainment between sunday bro🤘
Good video. I didn’t know much about the panthers
Was hoping for a Cam Newton vid for a while but this is even better!
Do the Chicago Bears next
Not their 1st but their 2nd rounder And after that, the trade is complete
da bears
“Avg Chicago Nears trade”. I was sad to see Olsen go. Bears sure have sensed to be hitting on all cylinders with recent trades with the panthers..

47:12 whoooa, hold up, you had me with Kuechly being the possible best defensive player at that point (because Ed Reed, Troy Polumalu, Ray Lewis and Brian Urlacher were' all retired before he did) but then you say the best Linebacker of the 2010's Lewis and Urlacher both still stood tall over Kuechly but all are no doubt first round hall of famers
also I love his attitude and that he likes to fly fish, what a great man!
44:37 average Daniel Jones experience
I just started watching American football, tell me how in the HELL do the panthers trade Christian McCaffrey
Watching this after the Panthers benched young and are blowing up yet another draft class is soooooooo funny
This video earned my sub
This is an amazing video. Id love to see a break down on how the Bears got to where they are. I think that the Bears are actually alot worse when it comes to agony and misery.
The Bears pain is so ridiculous on how long this rebuild has been. It's It's massive train wreck from ownership, to coaching.
17:15 I can’t breathe😂😂😂😂
Love the beast gohan reference
Great video keep up the work! Great writing editing and you got the joys and pains just right... but as a panthers fan... this one hurts.
This video was so well done. The panthers should’ve won a superbowl with that core group of players from 2015.
Hope the owner stubs his toe on his skybox seat in his stadium. He is a real piece of work. I live in Charlotte and pull for Atlanta just like when I was a kid.. I was once a fan but Teeper is a shadow of what Richardson was.
been waiting for this
I still remember being at Baylor, hearing Rhule say "I don't care how much money they throw at me, I have unfinished business here" just to leave weeks later. I was so happy when they failed with him
Bro you’re funny asf definitely subscribing & binge watching the other vids😂
As a texans fan, glad I didn't give up on them... All my Carolina friends tried to convert me
… you guys still lost to the Panthers and you haven’t even reached a conference championship game. Settle down 🤡😂
54:10 aged like milk lmao
Plus he was top 10 in middle and deep ball accuracy multiple years and led the nfl in right window throw percentage twice. The only passing he struggled at was short passes. He was good at deep and medium passes. Our receivers didn’t get a lot of separation and he had to try to force the ball in there at times. Cam wasn’t a bad passer at all and with more talent around him he would have been even better. Plus the injuries hurt him. Yall always avoid the fact that he was hurt in his prime.
Bro great video
Has any team fallen harder this past decade than these guys? They haven’t even made it back to the divisional round since that Super Bowl
After week 1 I do not think they will be getting better any time soon
It started with Super Bowl 50. Cam was never the same after that game. It got into his head.
I agree but he still found success afterwards in 2017 and 2018 till that Steelers game
