That Divisional Game vs the Chiefs is the craziest thing I’ve ever watched. They didn’t just blow a 24 point lead. They blew it in 10 minutes. The score was 28-24 Chiefs by halftime. After kicking that field goal, they were destroyed 51-7. I’ve never seen a team go from being blown out to blowing the other team out as quickly as the Chiefs did.
Yeah, I'm with you on this. The change was so sudden that it seems like an LSD trip to claim the Texans were ever up 24-0. Never seen a franchise collapse as fast as they did the second the Chiefs got serious about football that day.
Watching it was, and still is, the best game I've ever seen live. 13 Seconds is a close 2nd, but the comeback was electric. You could feel the animosity in the air coming into halftime and then everything went out the window.
As a Texans fan you pretty much hit the nail on the head with our history… except… you forgot one teeny tiny extension to the Bill O’Brien Saga that helps make the Texans story even more depressing, though I don’t blame you for forgetting, even some Texans fans tend to overlook this man, but once you see the timeline, you can’t ignore his presence: the tenure of Jack Easterby. BOB actually brought Easterby to Houston in 2019 after serving as the Patriots character coach and team pastor. And every mind boggling thing that occurred since, he’s been the main cause or had some influence in some way. Brian Gaine’s firing? Yep that was Easterby. GM O’Brien? Easterby (BOB only got the job because Jack tried and failed to poach Nick Caserio from NE and almost got the Texans slapped with tampering accusations) The D-Hop trade? While O’Brien deserves the blame for trading him for a Snickers bar, our good friend Jack Easterby planted that idea into his head, saying quote: “we need to move on from ‘that person’” (Hopkins was “that person”) He also changed the locker room culture which drove many players away like Watt and Deshaun (before we knew he liked his massages) Remember that time the Texans interviewed Josh McCown for the Head Coach job. Take a guess who he’s church buddies with. This was almost a disaster the second time around, and it seems like Easterby was gonna get his church buddy before Brian Flores sued the league. That’s how we ended up with Lovie Smith in the first place. Hell, he wasn’t even interviewed for the job until AFTER the lawsuit was served. As Executive VP he also fired serval front office employees (almost all of them having stellar reputations league wide) and hiring subpar replacements). Did I mention he was a PASTOR before taking the VP job? It was so bad the owner had to take the blame. Is it any coincidence that the Texans morale boosted significantly after Easterby finally got fired in 2022. That should tell you how bad this guy was for the Texans. So yeah, Jack Easterby. The Cult Leader of the NFL
Poor Ryan Mallet, he was loved by our family in Arkansas and my uncle even met him multiple times. From his underwhelming time in the league to him sadly passing away earlier this year he will be missed
He’s still probably the best QB to ever be a Hog from a talent perspective. I thought he’d be good in the NFL but his brain and heart didn’t seem to be ready for it. RIP though, I really loved his years in Arkansas.
It's insane what a rookie coach and rookie qb and edge rusher can do for a team when chosen correctly. At this time, we still haven't accomplished anything yet. But at no time since I've been a Houston football fan, I've never had more hope in this team than I do now. And thank God Bill O'Brian is gone, or he'd probably have traded CJ for a safety, a 4th round draft pick, and some pocket lint.

So you're telling me the Browns passed on Deshaun, then years later they are head over heels about this guy and giving up a ton of capital for it. I Seriously will never understand these 'experts' that are behind these stupid managerial decisions.
You should've included how Jack Easterby, the former Patriots chaplain, was hired without any football experience to head the front office. If any man besides O'Brien was responsible for their quick downfall after playoff contention, it would be him.
Holy cow! My phone was turned up way too much when the video started. I felt bad for David Carr. I believe it was you who referred to him as a human tackling dummy.
As a fan I can tell you that the energy and culture in Houston has done a complete 180. The new Texans owner has been listening to the fans. He hired Nick Caserio who has been a pretty good GM so far. He has hired Demeco Ryans and everyone in Houston loves it. We loved Demeco since he played here and now that we hired him along with our sneaky good young talent. This team is in good hands. Maybe not this year but next year I can see them competing for the division. They could possibly do it this year as well. After 3 miserable seasone we finally have hope as a fan base thanks to Cal McNair.
Hey, I’m at a Motel 6 in Odessa, TX....I gave this young lady a ride about two miles out before I got here. She said she just needed a place to nap for a couple hours so I let her. i have no reason to be a Texans fan, since i'm not from Texas. but i remember how much i loved watching this team between 2017 and 2019 when they had DeShawn (before it was known what a creep he is), JJ Watt, DeAndre Hopkins and Jadeveon Clowney playing. i especially loved watching DeAndre back then -- he made catches that no human being should've been able to make, and would've been an even bigger superstar if he played in New York or LA.
Best on screen of the beautiful Brady, and who I'm assuming is your little brother in the background. Love the content as usual, but there was a Tim and Eric effect going on in the background 😂
I was on a recruiting trip with Tom Savage at Rutgers. There were about 4 of us that came up from Florida and we got the basic tour of facilities, forms and caf lunch…. Then went and picked him up, rolled out the red carpet, had his highlights playing on the jumbotron…. That qb life is different. They didn’t want us like they wanted him. Anyway, Tom and his dad were really cool tho. He was one of the guys, and didn’t give off an air of superiority like I’ve seen with a few 5-stars
Wsg Tubfrog. I love the collapse videos. Could you make a video on the Titans rise from mid (four straight years of 9-7 records) to super bowl contenders to losing 7 games in a row and then the renewed hope? (Dhop signing)
Just stumbled upon your channel tonight at work when you shit all over my Broncos with their qb situation since Manning retired. Gotta say you make some of the best NFL content on YT brother , instantly subbed and been binge watching your videos love your humor and indepth breakdowns!!
Being present for the Divisional Game against the Chiefs is still THE game to me, even over 13 seconds against the Bills. It was almost unreal the comeback/collapse that occurred that quickly. The disbelief and anger of the 1st half was almost like watching a separate game from the explosive cheering in the 2nd half. How the tables turned was almost textbook and even though it cemented their downfall into the 2020's, it was beautiful to say the least.
Texans sold out tobthe NFL after McNair died. Janice and Cal were acting owners and they didn't have any experience. They handed the job to Jack Esterby because he had tons of experience with Nick Caserio and Bill Bilicheat. Crazy that Nick Caserio was the guy to turn things around. Dude is elite and I hope we wins a SB with a real GM title
You forgot one pivotal person in the demise of the Texans under King Bill's reign of incompetence. Jack Easterby the preacher who became VP of football operations. He is hated even more in Houston then King Bill and has had numerous high profile articles written about him during his time here. You could do an entire video on him alone.
This was an excellent video man! I knew the Texans sucked, but by God I had no idea their abysmal history went that far back 😮 I learned a lot man, thank you. Please make more videos on different franchises, hell good and bad lol I want to learn more about these NFL team's history!
The Texans actually made the playoffs/division titles more often than a number of teams (both four times) including the Cowboys during the 2010s. They won just as many playoff games (2) as the Cowboys in the 2010s. This video also fails to mention that original owner Bob McNair died in 2018, and then the spoiled surviving family has been firing coaches and other staff left and right at will.
It’s crazy watching this video now after the Texans have had such a great turnaround and are now a Super Bowl contending team that is only getting better!
It's funny how abruptly the Texans collapsed from being a competitive team to a joke. I think Richard Sherman stole Matt Schaub's soul with that pick six, because Schaub forgot how to play football for good. He got the yips or something. Poor guy. He was pretty solid for awhile. And then they go through all that trouble to rebuild and...poof, the Chiefs again stole their souls.
I see a team that hired a hot shot HC candidate (when so many said he would not even consider The Texans), drafted a pretty good QB prospect, and have a lot of picks after getting rid of the predator at QB who was given the bag and holding out because he's a big diva, too. So things can change pretty quickly in the NFL with perception at least. The Tire fire of tire fires recently and now a lot of optimism with the possible long-term QB added too.
I was at a Texans fan event during the Chiefs 24 point comeback. The silence as the points piled up is the most deafening thing I've ever seen in professional sports.
It’s wild they’ve had so much talent over these last 20 years. All for nothing because of personnel incompetence. It’s wild the team is already 21-22 years old and have NOTHING to show for it.
@@JaMarcusRussellGOAT- Man, when they had the Oilers. Those teams were loaded on offense every year. And by the time they blew another playoff game in the 93 divisional Bud Adams said F***THIS. And moved to Houston. And they almost won a Super Bowl in 1999. I’d love to see Houston relevant in the NFL again. It seems like the only time they can even win the division (a weak one) is if the other teams are dealing with injuries. They gotta get to a Super Bowl eventually. In our lifetimes? I’m not optimistic.
Having said all of that…. DeMeco Ryans is one of the few coaches that could finally give Houston the respect it deserves. He played with Kubiak and Wade as a Texan, and did a great job as the 49ers DC. All the moves he and Caserio made this offseason to get pretty good talent into NRG Stadium, with guys like Shaq Mason, Dalton Schultz, Jimmie Ward, Denzel Perryman, Devin Singletary, Sheldon Rankins, and others to work with the guys we already have, gives me hope that the Bulls on Parade can be rebuilt and done well. The guys we got in the draft help bring it all together much better than we had anticipated. We still have holes, but it’s the first year of DeMeco’s tenure. It’s not going to all be perfect. However, no one can dispute that we’re headed in the right direction.
TJ Yates was actually the 3rd string. Matt Leinart was the #2 QB behind Matt Schaub. Pretty sure Matt Leinart got hurt in his first start and TJ Yates took over from there
JJ Watt 100000% deserved MVP in 2014. That season proved that it’s a QB only award because if he didn’t win it, no one will.

You should've included how Jack Easterby, the former Patriots chaplain, was hired without any football experience to head the front office. If any man besides O'Brien was responsible for their quick downfall after playoff contention, it would be him.
For some reason, the Texans love picking up the scraps from New England
Great video from a Texans fan. I feel like I’m 2 years you will make a video about how the Texans finally got their respect.
Maybe
Anytime we hear “ok, so…” we know we’re getting a masterpiece
Bro, ur funny as hell.. 😂😂😂 .. SUBBED!!!! 💯💯
41:03 yo that picture is wild 💀
Hey, I’m at a Motel 6 in Odessa, TX....I gave this young lady a ride about two miles out before I got here. She said she just needed a place to nap for a couple hours so I let her. I took a nap and when I woke up.... she and my wallet was gone!! I was just being nice, and I assure you I was not soliciting.…. Noooo not me😶😶 You think I should call the cops? Someone help me…. PLEASE!!
14:17 Why is there a kid shaking in the background...?
Dhop being called "Some Guy" is CRAAZZZZZYY
I noticed Jack Easterby wasn't mentioned at all, he's the one that told BoB to trade Hopkins.
CJ stroud and the coach are building something in Houston
I love the channel Tubfrog my idea is how the Niners have went from contenders to unwanted losers back to contenders in the past decades
Dude this video was so detailed and amazing. As a Texans fan I enjoyed this. Cj stroud bouta win us a super bowl soon🔥
Man I’m lowkey rootin for them they’ve been bad for far too long
I’ve followed you for almost a year now, and watching every upload, I have to say these long videos have made me look forward to your videos every other week. I hope sometime in the future we can get 1 a week!

Forget the incredible video essays and amazing writing, TOM'S BACK!
What?
@@IsaiahPicksThomas bradius himself is back man
Finally find an awesome channel after FlemloRaps. Keep it up g!
Everyone else saw that mannequin move at 14:16 right?
i have no reason to be a Texans fan, since i'm not from Texas. but i remember how much i loved watching this team between 2017 and 2019 when they had DeShawn (before it was known what a creep he is), JJ Watt, DeAndre Hopkins and Jadeveon Clowney playing. i especially loved watching DeAndre back then -- he made catches that no human being should've been able to make, and would've been an even bigger superstar if he played in New York or LA.
If only they fixed the coaching staff sooner that Houston probably would have made a ring in those 3 years
Best on screen of the beautiful Brady, and who I'm assuming is your little brother in the background.
Tom savage was awesome. Shame he never became a franchise qb
Tub always seems to post right when I'm going through a boredom spell. 👍
Wsg Tubfrog. I love the collapse videos. Could you make a video on the Titans rise from mid (four straight years of 9-7 records) to super bowl contenders to losing 7 games in a row and then the renewed hope? (Dhop signing)
I'm from Houston and am a diehard Oilers fan. Have hated the Texans since I heard their name. "So we're just going to copy Dallas?"
Just stumbled upon your channel tonight at work when you shit all over my Broncos with their qb situation since Manning retired.
Gotta say you make some of the best NFL content on YT brother , instantly subbed and been binge watching your videos love your humor and indepth breakdowns!!
Babe wake up, new TubFrog upload!
I feel somewhat early though so I have some request, a video about Ryan Fitzpatrick or about the 90s Bills
Your my favorite creator on TH-cam, such amazing videos. So underrated!!!
lol okay you’ve got a new subscriber another great show
Being present for the Divisional Game against the Chiefs is still THE game to me, even over 13 seconds against the Bills.
Keep up the great work tubfrog!
Texans lifelong fan. Thank you for cataloguing my pain.
The quality content just keeps coming!
This was an excellent video man! I knew the Texans sucked, but by God I had no idea their abysmal history went that far back 😮 I learned a lot man, thank you. Please make more videos on different franchises, hell good and bad lol I want to learn more about these NFL team's history!
RIP Ryan Mallet
They made the playoffs this year...
Yoooo I thought that was a puppet in the background and it's an entire person
I used to feel bad for Carr. Every play he had two or 3 linemen hanging off his back 😂
Then the Browns came along to rescue the franchine by gifting them all their picks in exchange for a guy who hasnt played in a year.
lmao!!!
Bro I just realized that you don’t even have 100k and that’s criminal
It’s crazy watching this video now after the Texans have had such a great turnaround and are now a Super Bowl contending team that is only getting better!
Dead ass best channel to eat mcdonalds to🔥💯
That’s exactly what I was hoping for when I made this video. Glad I’ve fulfilled my destiny
Me watching 👀 🍿 before start of 2024 season 😂 from doormats to superbowl favorites !
You were at the game yet the silence was Deafening? Arrowhead is rarely silent
@@lazeruslaz5724they were at a party with texans fans from what i read
It’s wild they’ve had so much talent over these last 20 years. All for nothing because of personnel incompetence. It’s wild the team is already 21-22 years old and have NOTHING to show for it.
Houston has always been a city of losers when it comes to pro football. When your best moment ever is reaching the XFL semifinals, it’s just pathetic.
What a difference a season makes the future is bright in H town
I love ur channel bro
Nah we are, offense and defense is actually going up, coaches are also good too
TJ Yates was actually the 3rd string. Matt Leinart was the #2 QB behind Matt Schaub. Pretty sure Matt Leinart got hurt in his first start and TJ Yates took over from there
He did he had a good game against the Jaguars but got hurt near halftime which led to TJ Yates
😊 this was a fantastic video.
I live here in Houston so obviously I'm a die-hard Texans fan. Pretty much got it all correct
I need to know more about this ever changing background
