THIS! Driving around in my first car, Orange Pinto - death trap, with this cassette tape in...tears flowing over first love and break up...still hits to this day...sigh
Feel the same way! I was barely a teen when this song came out and I was obsessed. I’ve never had an unrequited love like DPack is singing about but I feeeeeeel like I have whenever I hear this great song ❤
I was just wondering if the guys have found out about LRB... I just stumbled onto them just tonight and plan on watching their reactions to other songs that I like from yesterday @@lisam5901
Happy Birthday, Ty! Love Ambrosia. You might also like their song "Holdin' On to Yesterday." It has a mellower, slower vibe, but has the same great musicianship and vocals.
This is what you hear, it's the feel driving late at night on a rainy road to anywhere.... With thoughts of... somebody... wonderful waiting ahead for you.... That you know you'll meet... Someday.....
This was playing in the supermarket and me and the guy ahead of me were singing along and we both looked at each other and sang the ‘oh noooo’ in the second verse. The kid at the check out asked us if we had rehearsed it 😂
That's funny and pretty common in my local grocery store HEB here in Austin, Texas. HEB is a big grocery chain in Texas but some of their individual stores are known for the great music they play for their shoppers. Lots is 70s & 80s pop, rock, R&B, funk, country, jazz, soul, disco. Something for everybody and always the best of the eras music.
All 4 members of Ambrosia played on the Alan Parsons Project first album and David Pack sang on many songs for the project ! Love this song and happy birthday
Looking forward to this one! Ambrosia criminally under-rated band. "HOLDING ON TO YESTERDAY" I hope is your next one. I'm pretty sure that it will go on all y'all's playlists ❤
I sincerely respect what Ambrosia did with HOTY; the overall production is impeccable (and David Pack can do no wrong in my eyes). That said, the song has always been “problematic” bc I LOVE THE CHORUS _but the verses not so much bc they don’t pop_ . Then the latter half gets a bit overwrought and loses its way but then they strip it down to close it out which was a relief. Just my two cents.
❤I am late to the Birthday party🎉. I love Ambrosia and all the other bands from this time period Poco, Firefall, Pablo Cruise etc. The vocals are so good and they have sax, flute and organ. Get some Firefall on you list....you won't be sorry I mean come on fire is in their name🔥 🎶 😎. You Are The Woman, Strange Way and Just Remember I Love You are good songs to start on. 🛳 🎵🎸🎹🥁🎺🎷
Gents I love watching you discover this great music. So many great artists in the 70s. These are true musicians that can write play sing and harmonize. It took years for these guys to make this music and it wasnt a hit by accident. If you want another rabbit hole try anything by Atlanta Rhythm Section maybe Another Mans Woman….
Seeing Ambrosia on TV in the 70's was a trip. They wore kimonos and had really long hair. At first glance, you'd think they were a heavy prog band. Then they'd start playing and out would come these absolutely polished pop ballads. These were the slow jams of their respective era, and what many would consider 'baby-making' music for Boomers.
So glad you guys like this one!! If you are someone who still has feelings for the "one" that got away, this song will hit a nerve. Happy Birthday Ty! Hope you have a great one.
Love Ambrosia. Love your reaction!! I think the line about still seeing her face when he makes love to his wife is one of the saddest lines ever. Sad for him and sad for his wife.
umm, that's one way to look at it, i kind of laugh now, creepy for a soft rock love song... i heard they don't sing that part now. The lead singer wants it family friendly or something.
WOW! Great reaction to this fantastic Ambrosia song "How much I feel". Love this song it gives me the chills.❤ Don't forget Hold on to Yesterday by Ambrosia, April Wine I like to rock, Loggins and Messina Angry eyes, Fleetwood Mac The Chain, Steely Dan songs Peg Hey 19 FM Gaucho Babylon Sisters FM Home at Last and more. Happy Birthday Ty🎈
This brings me right back to the Fall of 1978. It's one of their best songs, and this album was also excellent. It was Ambrosia morphing into that wonderful blue-eyed soul era. They started as a polished prog band and moved with as much artistic success to a different style. It put them in fine company with Steely Dan and Doobies, the West-coast yacht rock ethos.
Saw Ambrosia in San Diego in 1976. Foghat was the main band, Rick Derringer opened. Ambrosia was the second band. Unfortunately , they were booed by the crowd of hard rock fans. I loved them and was so glad they found success with adiffere t crowd of fans.
Thank you for playing this song! So good! Ambrosia is one of the best bands to come out of the 1970s! David Pack's got an amazing voice! Total Fire!! Thank you, guys!
I was a freshman in high school and vividly remember the story. I understood the lyrics but only with the mentality of a boy . Nowadays I understand it completely
What a pleasure it was to be 15 and getting to listen to amazing music like this playing on the radio. Love Ambrosia. Now y'all need to listen to Holding On To Yesterday and You're The Only Woman. PLAYLIST!!! 😁 HAPPY BIRTHDAY🎉
What a great reaction. Us old guys who heard this stuff when it first came out appreciate the young guys discovering it. This music is so well written and performed it will never be equaled.
David Pack had a voice that stood out from everyone else. "Yacht Rock" is really just easy rock that originated on the West Coast starting in the 70s. You need to review You're The Only Woman also by Ambrosia 🔥
HBD, Ty! Major fave o’ mine. Got a chance to see Ambrosia in ‘79. Opening act for Genesis. This one invites you to hop on board the bass line and hold on tight while the rest of the song eases you into shore… Happy landings.
I absolutely love Ambrosia! Such a beautiful song..David Pack is amazing. Love that you guys are keeping the 70s and 80s music alive for the current generation and you appreciate it. This song hits you right in the heart.
I loooove ambrosia! we see them on the 70's rock and romance cruise. a few years ago one of the ambrosia band members got married on the cruise. it was soo cool and romantic! listen to holdin on to yesterday and youre the only woman. you have to listen to those too. they are soooo goood tooo!!!! very good . love you guys. i really enjoy your reactions. Happy birthday Ty
“…sometimes when we make love, I still see your face…”🤦🏻♀️. Notwithstanding, an absolute beautiful melody, fantastic instrumentation and incredible vocals. Loved this song back then, love it still today!
I loved your reaction to this one. I grew up with them and so many great others. You were right on about how good the musicians themselves were back then. I went to so many concerts and the music there sounded just like the albums they had released. Not the case so much for a lot of years. Keep it up guys. You do my older heart good!
I'd like put in a good word for the band's "Holdin on to Yesterday " it was Ambrosia's first hit and shows off some of the instrumental prowess of the group as well as their superb vocals. Happy Birthday Ty.
I heard this when it came out, 1978, when I was 11 years old. Even then I knew that line "Sometimes when we make love, I still see your face" was a brutal heart-wrenching confession. I'm very happy you did this song. I hope you heed the comments about "Holdin' On To Yesterday." Happy Birthday Ty. See you all in the next one!
I danced at my Prom to this song with my high school girlfriend, whom I left for the service and never saw her again, Man I miss those days! simpler times with AWESOME music
Really enjoy watching the joy that this music brings you guys -- born in '55 - I got to grow up with the greatest music, well, ever. If you like Ambrosia, you have to try some Little River Band.....try Reminiscing.
The thing that makes this song so awesome is the deep passion that it exudes! Couple that passion with their extremely amazing talent and the magic just happens. This song gets in your soul and never lets go.
Ryan: “that’s messed up, that’s messed up”. 👌🏾 BUT the song was still huge for Ambrosia. And, yup, Ty, syncopation doesn’t get enough credit ie it’s often the reason why you like certain songs. Happy Birthday! ✌🏽
Despite my love for hard rock, I do have to admit that most soft rock really gets to me. I think you guys might even like Holding on to Yesterday the most from Ambrosia. It tugs at your heart quite a bit. But this one is a heart tugger, too. Incredible vocals. Steve Perry's Foolish Heart is a favorite of mine. Turns me into a puddle inside. Happy Birthday, Ty.
Happy birthday Ty! Love your song choice. This was “ my era” and I certainly don’t mind when people think I’m stuck there because the music was most awesome.😊
Summer nights cruising in the car with Ambrosia and Baby come back by Player 1978❤
Ambrosia is one of my lifelong faves. You have to do "Youre The Only Woman", a banger! And mellow banger "Holding on to Yesterday!"
Yes, they need to do both of those for sure.
What @jennifera7651 said!
Yep. You’re the only woman is even better
@andyt1313 They don't even know...yet! :)
Sometimes you just need a mellow banger.
Ambrosia, Firefall, and Little River Band were staples for us soft rock sappies from that era. I love'm and I'm unapologetic about it.
All great bands!
In the 70’s you had REAL musicians that had talent. And artists that were poets. It was a great decade.
David Pack is a great You can't forget Ambrosia songs
Talk about an underrated vocalist. David Pack - what a voice!
Would love to hear David Pack’s name included in the blue-eyed soul convo along with Daryl Hall, Michael McDonald and Kenny Loggins. ✌🏽
Yep
"You're the only woman" is great as well. You have to play it as well you'll love it!
This song and Chris Rea's Fool If You Thinks It Over....knife through the heart 😢
Oh God, song came out in high school and still breaks my heart. David Pack is one of the best and most underrated vocalists ever
Me too!! 😢
The most underrated singer in the world ever. Even better than McDonald…
Every time I hear this on the radio, I stop and listen and sing. And love this!!
You would love Cool Change by Little River Band… great review of this one. Keep ‘em comin’!
SPOT-ON!!!!!!!! ❤
GREAT SONG! Such good music we lived thru.
Anything by LRB......whew!
I was just wondering if the guys have found out about LRB... I just stumbled onto them just tonight and plan on watching their reactions to other songs that I like from yesterday @@lisam5901
yeah................ANY Little River Band but I LOVE, love, love "Lonesome Loser"
Happy Birthday, Ty! Love Ambrosia. You might also like their song "Holdin' On to Yesterday." It has a mellower, slower vibe, but has the same great musicianship and vocals.
I second for Holdin' onto yesterday! Great song 💯
Great song!
Yes!! Different vibe but same awesomeness!
My 2nd favorite Ambrosia song!
This is what you hear, it's the feel driving late at night on a rainy road to anywhere.... With thoughts of... somebody... wonderful waiting ahead for you.... That you know you'll meet... Someday.....
I love this band & David Pack. Awesome band
19yo me absolutely LOVED this song soooooo much when it first came out, and all of these years later 64yo me still does. ❤
Me too!
This was playing in the supermarket and me and the guy ahead of me were singing along and we both looked at each other and sang the ‘oh noooo’ in the second verse. The kid at the check out asked us if we had rehearsed it 😂
Lol i can almost see the look on his face :) what a moment!
The vocal gymnastics, the amazing bridge, the overall vibe, and (in my case) the memories of turning 15 and loving life back in fall of ‘78.
Me too! Some of my go-to songs when I'm sad...and need to cry!
All 4 members of Ambrosia played on the Alan Parsons Project first album and David Pack sang on many songs for the project ! Love this song and happy birthday
Such a great vibe. Song writing at its finest.
Lotta Love by Nicolette Larson.
David Pack’s voice is stunning! Harmony is on on pointe. Perfection.
Looking forward to this one! Ambrosia criminally under-rated band. "HOLDING ON TO YESTERDAY" I hope is your next one. I'm pretty sure that it will go on all y'all's playlists ❤
I Agree. Holding On To Yesterday is a great song.
I sincerely respect what Ambrosia did with HOTY; the overall production is impeccable (and David Pack can do no wrong in my eyes). YES! Holding on to yesterday. Amazing.
Ambrosia right up there with TOTO great music
Toto is the best, though!
You need to make "You're the Only Woman" your next one by them.
YAAASSSS!!
No doubt.
I think you would love “Miracles “ a 70s hit by Jefferson Starship.Very mystical and ethereal.Happy Birthday Ty ❤
YES!!! Miracles is such an amazing song ❤
Marty Balin’s voice, his expression of emotion and the lyrics were meant to be together. An incredible recording that has stood the test of time.
It’s also a very sensual and sexy af song while still being a class act by Marty and the band❤️
Yes that's an amazing song...I totally love 70's music...
That song is an experience! Marty Balin... WHEW!
❤I am late to the Birthday party🎉. I love Ambrosia and all the other bands from this time period Poco, Firefall, Pablo Cruise etc. The vocals are so good and they have sax, flute and organ. Ambrosia "Holding on to Yesterday" is the best song in my humble opinion. Such a vibe.
Absolutely!
This really pulls at the heartstrings
DUDES ,The 70's were FIRE 🔥
😊🎉Ty, here’s another birthday present for you. How Long by Ace. ❤All three will love it guaranteed, because you appreciate beautiful harmonies.
Love Ambrosia. Love your reaction!! I think the line about still seeing her face when he makes love to his wife is one of the saddest lines ever. Sad for him and sad for his wife.

@@dewdew34 that bites.
Me, too. Reminds me of Dan Fogelberg's "Same Old Lang Syne".
David is already 70 + years old and still got that golden voice and its way better than ever. Holy shxt!❤❤❤
Still.my favorite love song! ..... Over 40 years....
I second the request for Holding on to Yesterday. Amazing song!!!

If we ain't the same age, we're close to it...
Sure
I was in Detroit, west side at my grandmother’s apartment, when that song 🎶 came out, I was just a kid, now I’m 58 years old 😱 it’s a great song ❤
Back in the seventies, a lot of people were conceived to this song!
Genius vocalist
This brings me right back to the Fall of 1978. It's one of their best songs, and this album was also excellent. It was Ambrosia morphing into that wonderful blue-eyed soul era. This timestamps where you were in life......heading back to college for a fantastic Junior year with my friend driving.
As you liked this one, bet you would like Paul Davis and his hit I Go Crazy.
OMG, what a song!
Saw Ambrosia in San Diego in 1976. Foghat was the main band, Rick Derringer opened. Ambrosia was the second band. Unfortunately , they were booed by the crowd of hard rock fans. I loved them and was so glad they found success with adiffere t crowd of fans.
Probably my all time most favorite love song. Makes me tear up every time.
You're The Biggest Part of Me.....another favourite ❤
You will really love I Can't Tell You Why by the Eagles. Sublimely gorgeous.
Thank you for playing this song! So good! Ambrosia is one of the best bands to come out of the 1970s! David Pack's got an amazing voice! Total Fire!! Thank you, guys!

I love this song!!!! ❤ and I love you guys!!!
These are my 3 favorite guys. Happy birthday, Ty!
I was a freshman in high school and vividly remember the story. I understood the lyrics but only with the mentality of a boy . Nowadays I understand it completely
Same here. I was in sixth grade. Loved this song. When I got older, I loved it even more because I understood it.
The lead singer, David Pack, has such a sexy voice. His voice elevates this band's music.
“That’s messed up … that’s good” 😅
Just a beautiful song amazing!
What a pleasure it was to be 15 and getting to listen to amazing music like this playing on the radio. Love Ambrosia. Now y'all need to listen to Holding On To Yesterday and You're The Only Woman. PLAYLIST!!! 😁

What a great reaction. Us old guys who heard this stuff when it first came out appreciate the young guys discovering it. This music is so well written and performed it will never be equaled.
I still Ambrosia even until this day. I grew up listening to this era. Great memories with beautiful soft rock!
David Pack had a voice that stood out from everyone else. "Yacht Rock" is really just easy rock that originated on the West Coast starting in the 70s. You need to review You're The Only Woman also by Ambrosia 🔥
You guys are gonna love this one.
I love this reaction! I’m subscribing. First time I listened to them was back in the early 90s as a kid and I was floored.
I wish more singers were this honest.
I love how Nick just flows into it at the beginning..knowing its the boss
HBD, Ty! Major fave o’ mine. Got a chance to see Ambrosia in ‘79. Opening act for Genesis. This one invites you to hop on board the bass line and hold on tight while the rest of the song eases you into shore… Happy landings.

I've always loved this song by Ambrosia. 30 seconds in and I'm naked with candles burning and an open bottle of Cabernet.., and hopefully not alone.
As a 17 year old second wife, the last part was a gut punch.
“…sometimes when we make love, I still see your face…”🤦🏻♀️. Notwithstanding, an absolute beautiful melody, fantastic instrumentation and incredible vocals. Loved this song back then, love it still today!
These groups like ambrosia had it all. Great vocals, lyrics, and production unmatched. Hats off to you guys.
... one thing us Boomers knew how to do ... was make *fire* music!
When do we not like soft and smooth anything when it's so excellingly presented to us?
Holding On To Yesterday is everyone's birthday. Ambrosia .. Atlanta Rhythm Section .. in the 70s we didn't even need yachts to vibe.
Unrequited love. This song does say it all guys
Can't go wrong with Ambrosia. They are excellent. ❤
One of my favorite songs, ever!!
Try "Holding On To Yesterday" - that has edge musically just like this song was lyrically edgy.... thanks for your reactions! :)
I loved your reaction to this one. I grew up with them and so many great others. You were right on about how good the musicians themselves were back then. I went to so many concerts and the music there sounded just like the albums they had released. Not the case so much for a lot of years. Keep it up guys. You do my older heart good!

David pack what can I say his voice is soooo underrated just plain fire 🔥 Beautiful!!
I heard this when it came out, 1978, when I was 11 years old. Even then I knew that line "Sometimes when we make love, I still see your face" was a brutal heart-wrenching confession. Come on guys, Bobby Caldwell , what you won’t do for love. Fire🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
You have that right, they can't make music like this anymore ! Holding on to yesterday is incrediable.
Such a great song by a fantastic group.
I danced at my Prom to this song with my high school girlfriend, whom I left for the service and never saw her again, Man I miss those days! simpler times with AWESOME music
Gotta love Tyler's reaction to this song!
I go by Nick’s “I give up” face as though he knows it’s a no brainer hit. He’d be right 💯 it’s probably one of the best longing and losing songs ever
Really enjoy watching the joy that this music brings you guys -- born in '55 - I got to grow up with the greatest music, well, ever. If you like Ambrosia, you have to try some Little River Band.....try Reminiscing.
This is like watching three bobble heads on a dashboard of a car,.
A beautiful song about unrequited love.
The thing that makes this song so awesome is the deep passion that it exudes! Couple that passion with their extremely amazing talent and the magic just happens. This song gets in your soul and never lets go.
Ahhhhhhhh!
Ventura Highway ❤
And happy bday Ty 🎉
This is a song that I wish was longer. There is a fantastic video out there of these guys performing this song in concert. They really were that good.
Ryan: “that’s messed up, that’s messed up”. 👌🏾 BUT the song was still huge for Ambrosia. And, yup, Ty, syncopation doesn’t get enough credit ie it’s often the reason why you like certain songs. Happy Birthday! ✌🏽
mmmmmm that 70s soft rock is SOLID FUCKING GOLD 😍😍😍
Despite my love for hard rock, I do have to admit that most soft rock really gets to me. I think you guys might even like Holding on to Yesterday the most from Ambrosia. It tugs at your heart quite a bit. But this one is a heart tugger, too. Incredible vocals.
Steve Perry's Foolish Heart is a favorite of mine. Turns me into a puddle inside.
Happy Birthday, Ty.
Happy birthday Ty! Love your song choice. This was “ my era” and I certainly don’t mind when people think I’m stuck there because the music was most awesome.😊
Great selection! Happy Birthday TY! ❤️
THIS SONG IS 🔥🔥🔥🔥!! HAPPY BIRTHDAY TY!!
I am in love with you guys!!!!!
❤Can Still close my eyes and see whom I was dancing with at my high school dance. They still sound great! ❤
