Reaction starts around 8 minutes in. We had to share the news about Ty before our usual intro. Happy New Year! 🎉
Little River Band "It's a Long Way There" you gotta do the studio extended version. You're welcome in advance. 😎✌ Happy New Year 🎶
Happy new year out to the gang and all the people 3 hours ahead of us!!
I'm glad to see you again, Ty. Congrats on the good job. Any certain parts of NC you frequent?
Yay this is a great band! I listen to their greatest hits all the time!!! 🎉 You are all smiles from the beginning! I love Southern Nights!!!! ❤❤❤ When they say "Miller's band was better than before." Then the horns come in (they are talking about Glen Miller's band). He has a great voice. Their harmonies are great Shows more in their other songs... Reminds me of my grandma's house so must have heard it there when I was a kid. I am a sucker for bands with a horn section. Guess what bands I like... I am surprised you have not heard that - that plays a lot!!! I did a karaoke duet of Lonesome Loser (one of their songs) with a friend once. Glad to see you in the video, Ty. Happy New Year all and many blessings in 2024!
Very cool song!
I think it was Glenn Frey that once said that this is the only band whose harmonies The Eagles were jealous of. That is quite a compliment right there.
That and John Lennon liked it it was my mother's favorite song too I think about her when I hear it
When Eagles and Little River Band toured together, each of the bands would stand outside the other's green room and listen to them warm up and say "Now that's how it's done!" Great mutual respect! Glenn Frey toured with LRB during his solo stretch too!
I’ve heard a comparison of this song to a Steely Dan if they weren’t so jaded. I’m not sure many people rival the harmonies of Steely Dan. As they say, Steely Dan is your favorite band’s favorite band.
"Cool Change" is my favorite. I catch my husband singing "Lonesome Loser" a lot around the house. I can't imagine anyone not liking this band.
that's my favorite as well
cool change is fantastic.
Love him more.
You can't go wrong with any of Little River Band's songs. One of my very favorite bands from my teenage years. Their songs stand the test of time.
Would love to hear your reaction to Little River Band - it's a long way there. What a masterpiece of music talent. Love the best music ever between 60s -80s. Will probably never hear this type of music & talent again at least in how it was played w/o a lot of computer enhancements. Just pure talent! Love your music reactions & for sharing the oldies. Priceless! 🙂 Makes my day! ❤
So right - if you haven’t already check out Little Ray Of Sunshine - Glenn recorded it with Axiom before he joined LRB. Written by Brian Cadd, I think. Great song
Little River Band's harmonies don't take a backseat to anyone else.
This is one of my favorite songs ever. I LOVE Little River Band. Great reaction. Good to see Tyler on the set.
Same here!
They have so many great songs. Glad you all really liked them. Hope you do "Lonesome Loser" next.
Yes! That's a great one, too!
I always forget that is their song. Love that one too!
They were a rare act. Always brimming with creativity. No one song is like another. "Cool Change" , "It's Not A Wonder", "Lady" to "It's A Long Way There" - crazy range. Very, very special band. We were so damn lucky to grow up with music like this.
It’s A Long Way There is THE masterpiece from these guys. They’ve rarely recorded a dud but to go back in the catalogue and listen to It’s A Long Way There is just an amazing experience
I disagree. Overall, this song is by far their best.
@@jessieball6195 The best of the rest. It's a Long Way There actually is a masterpiece.
@@floydster23The extended version
What a pleasure it is to see the younger generation appreciate the amazing music that I grew up listening to that played on the radio daily. Great reaction guys.. 💯👏👍
The Little River Band is a *sleeper.* They had such funky, jazzy, yet folksy feel to it.
“Lonesome Loser” and “Cool Change” are 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Some other songs from LRB to hit are "Lonesome Loser", "Take It Easy On Me", "Lady", "Man On Your Mind", "Cool Change".
Very correct selections. You have a head on your shoulders.
It's A Long Way There (extended version). This song shows them at their best
That was going to be my comment.
Fades out during the trumpet solo... Wicked good. These guys are real songwriters and musicians...
Flugelhorn
Lonesome Loser and Cool Change are just listens by this band.
I was 7 or 8 when this song came out -- this is the kind of stuff I grew up on. And people wonder why my generation rags so much on today's music. There's just no comparison.
😂 The 3 Amigos are back 👏👏👏
Glenn Shorrock’s voice is literally Kerrygold. LRB has so many great yacht-rock songs. As much as I love hard rock, I am a sucker for this band. And they can ALL sing. I think Take It Easy On Me is a great one because it gives you a taste of the talent that runs through the band. Wayne Nelson has a fantastic solo part in that one. But you can just close your eyes and point to one of their songs and chances are it will be fantastic. I don’t think you could have chosen a better final song for 2023. Happy New Year, Nick, Ty and Ryan.
“Lady” is probably my favorite from these guys.
"Smooth" is the definitely the correct word to use with this tune. LRB has a ton of great stuff.
Southern nights from Glenn Campbell came first in 1977
I'm an Aussie and have loved them for so long
Glen Shorrock has such a great voice, and LRB has so many wonderful songs! Try Cool Change, Lonesome Loser and Lady. They are ALL fantastic!
If you listen to the line “That’s the way it began, we were hand in hand, Glenn Miller band was better than before”, it is a reference to the Glenn Miller Band - a swing band from the 1930s-40s and they were wildly popular with songs like “In the mood”, “String of pearls” and “Pennsylvania 6-5000”. The saxophone riff right after this line is an homage to that sound.
A String of Pearls
Yessiree--it was great to see THREE heads boppin' along together again!
Its a Long Way There from them is amazing try the album version Its special
Hell yeah, the guitar, the vocals, it's got it all in spades.
Yes!!
Yes! Definitely need to hear the album version - it’s just a great song!
Love this song. I feel 19 again listening to this. The 70s ruled. The music, the parties, the dope, the vibe, everything.
Radio was alive....& A treasure trove of the singer-songwriter genre
THE ONE SONG I WISH WOULD NEVER END...especially at the end where the trumpet picks up and literally dances you out the door - you and the one you love. ❤😊
Flugelhorn
Aussie in Thailand here. My British friend runs a live music pub in Bangkok - he was a teacher of fine musicians in the UK I gave him LRB Best of CD years ago and he played it everyday for 9 months at least.
Glenn Frey apparently said LRB was the best singing band in the world.
I am an aussie we are so proud of our band, they have so many great hits, so great!
Reminiscing, John Lennons favorite song and one of my ten best ever, headphones candy.
"Lady" is awesome as well!
This was played on the R&B radio in Savannah, GA when it came out. Beautiful song.
Take it easy on me
Lonesome loser
Cool Change
All of these are amazing
LRB is the kind of band with timeless music that can put you in a better mood no matter what kind of day you have had...
YES! Love them! I still have their Greatest Hits Cassette..Cool Change is my favorite! Talk about smooth!
Glade to see you back Ty!!! They have some real great songs!!
Cool Change
Lonesome Loser
Lady Take It Easy On Me
The Night Owls🦉
🎉❤😊😊
Definitely Night Owls.
It's a Long Way There is their masterpiece.
The Eagles said that LRB was one of the best harmony bands they had ever heard.
Cool Change is their best, in my opinion… but there are so many others. Great choice for a starter!
Or Long Way There. Brilliant guitar work on that one.
Growing up in the 70’s was the best - so much diverse music.
13 year old me blasting this on my Walkman all summer long of 1982. My early teens was pure "eclectic" because our only English speaking FM radio station was the Armed Forces Network and the music, outside of Casey Kasem's Top 40 every Sunday afternoon changed genre's hourly.
This song has been in my life since I purchased this album that summer and will remain until my dying breath...
Bobby Caldwell , what you won’t do for love , fire. 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Bobby
@@Coowallsky I know , I was thinking of someone else and put the wrong first name. I had 2 people in mind. But this is who I want them to react too.
LRB is a rabbit hole you need to go down. The album version of it's a long way there will blow your minds!!!
I really love watching you guys that are younger than me and a whole bunch of the other reaction channels, discovering music, the way it used to be without the computers without the auto tune, and just people with incredibly good songwriting incredibly good musical arrangement, and incredibly good engineers, putting it all together so much effort used to go into it in Music today has become disposable because technology has just made it to EZ. It’s so fun to watch people like you guys react to the stuff as you’re discovering it. It seems like music has lost some of that magic because of technology. We’ve traded the soul of music for the convenience of it.
The very definition of a an all time Classic! We grew up with this music! 🙀
I think part of the reason why you guys also loved the song is all three of you are so happy to be hanging out again.
True professional musicians right here....trumpet outro is sweet
Flugelhorn
This is the song that won ALL of the Rewards
I was wonderin' if Ty would be back in town for the holidays...and--from the photo--it looks like that's the case! Looking forward to tonight's reaction; if we were placing bets, I'd say this song will end up on all of your playlists.
They have some absolute pearlers. Lady. It's A Long Way There.
LRB have a ton of hits. HAPPY ANNIVERSARY, LADY, IT'S A LONG WAY THERE.. and many others. Good to see TY again. Happy New Year fellas!
Lennon said this song was one of his favorites.
fun fact- some guy by the name of john lennon or something said it was always on rotation at his house. one of his favourite songs ever.
Hey Ty, good to see you back for a visit! Please guys, on that live stream when Ty told us he was leaving for his promotion, I requested Bee Gees, official video for "Too Much Heaven", would you consider checking it out before Ty leaves again?
Good to see you, Ty. Nick and Ryan have been holding down the fort very well. Happy New Year, guys. Wishing you the best for the coming year.
This will be on your "fire... as usual" list. It fits all of your criteria.
Should do their song Lady sometime
I miss you Ty!!
This one and LADY are my favorites by LRB !
Every decade of the modern era of music since the 20s is incredible and has its own unique qualities to add to it's history. But as far as I'm concerned, the late 60s to the early 90s is the greatest span in the history of music that I've ever heard.
LRB is great at harmonizing! Check out " Lonesome Loser" and "It's A Long Way There" to name a couple. Good to see you Ty! 😊
LRB's greatest hits is a pretty strong compilation.
Cool, smooth, sophisticated, vibe..
. Always loved this.... Puts you somewhere like the best ones always do......
So glad to see all three of you together again! Yes, this is an awesome tune.
I know this song was not written about them but for some reason when I hear this song what comes to my mind courting days of George and Mary Bailey. It’s a wonderful life…it’s a wonderful song.
I love these guys. The Night Owls, Cool Change, Lady, The Other Guy, Help is on the Way, Lonesome Loser... So many.
HELP IS ON THE WAY!!!
There was never a more perfect song than this right here ✌️
This one’s been on my playlist. You can’t help but bob your head to it. And what a great way to end the year.🎉
This music from the 70s did such a great job of painting pictures while telling stories. So much killer atmosphere created without computers or auto tune. You should check out Nightwish Ghost Love Score from Wacken ….. you will be blown away….

Little River Band is awesome!
Once again you can t mess with the 70,s
You can’t beat the dynamic with all 3 of you there.
Nick and Ryan are doing a great job, but is a treat to see you three together 😉
Happy New Year guys , all the best for 2024 🎇
LRB is one of my favorites. Its a long way there is a masterpiece.
I would also recommend the band firefall , strange way or just remember I love you.
Pure
Pop
Perfection
My boy back in town ! Love u son ! Proud of you
My top three favorite bands of all time.
Oh, at last! "Reminiscing" was considered a huge commercial success and many people from my generation made this their personal anthem. I can't wait to see each face when you're hearing the rest (any of them) of LRB's artistry!!!!!!! The vocal arrangements that they put together are probably some of the best that I've ever heard. And, they can evoke some real emotions. So glad that y'all did this one.
Of their softer songs, this is the best. I first started listening to them when "It's A Long Way There" was popular on AOR radio. Hope you guys react to that one also.
I had Sleeper Catcher when I was in High School. Great album, great band. Their production was faultless.
Nice to see ya'll back together! 😊
LRB has a lot of great songs but one of my favorites is "Happy Anniversary" which is written to an ex-wife. It has great harmonies and the funkiest bass part you'll ever hear.
It's a long way there. Album version is their finest work and a must review. Buckle up.
I'm 63 and I'm reminiscing about when this first came out when I was too young to reminisce about anything :D Great song. You guys are my favorite reaction channel...love the positivity!
My favorite song ever❤️
Top 2 Yacht Rock
Essential reactions
1) Dobie Gray- Drift Away
2) Ozark Mountain Daredevils - Jackie Blue
Great to see Tye!
So great to see all 3 of you guys together again! I definitely still watch with Ryan and Nick, they're great, but nice to have all the OGs together. I'm happy for Ty that things are going well, congratulations!
LRB the original, had so many great songs and were known for their outstanding harmonies. "Lonesome Loser", "The Night Owls", and "Cool Change" among many great ones.
Little River Band is a Very Deep Rabbit Hole
LRB owned VANCOUVER CANADA in the late seventies and early eighties. They SOLD OUT numerous stadium shows. Good to reminisce !
Great to have the "terrific trio" back together.
Welcome back Ty
"And the Porter tune/ made us dance across the room".... Cole Porter's "Night & Day " (from the 1932 Fred Astaire Broadway musical & later movie "Gay Divorce")
Glenn's vibratos are well placed and perfect
Yay Ty is back
I was wondering where Ty was! So good to see him again. Wishing all three of you guys a wonderful 2024.
YAYYYYYYY, Ty is back!!! (weird for a grown man to care but he has a lot of charm and is the middle-man with a good voice). Each of you brings something different so there would be an emptiness if any of you were missing.
Good seeing Ty back again. You guys are the best.
