    Sam Houston praised this marshland as a new Mecca. Mosquitoes, Alligators and cannibalistic natives is what they got. Seems not much has changed.

      No, that was the Allen Brothers of New York. Try a little history. Sam was only here for the office he had for a little while till he moved..

      @@KB-ke3fimy great, great…… grandfather came to Texas with SFA and he hated Sam Houston. He said all Sam Houston wants is to make Texas a state. He was right!

    What do they expect when they built the city on land below sea level and was filled in marsh land?

      It's 50 feet above sea level at the lowest. Try to study geology one day.
