I live in downtown San Antonio. Love being able to walk to the river walk in the mornings when it's calm and quiet or in the evening for a night out.

San Antonio can be a very “touristy “ city but there are many other places that are worth visiting. The Briscoe Western Art Museum has many Remington and Russell works as well as others. Very worth a visit.
And the McNay is a world class museum. The King William district has great restored old homes and has a good walking tour.
The Tobin Center is a great performance venue. Whenever I go to visit my friends who live in Alamo Heights they always introduce me to cool out of the way places.

Beautiful! Thank you! Some, who are as old as Pops, have a large, green, souvenir pencil with "Viva Hemisphere '68" and a drawing of that tower on it, from when they were a kid, traveling from Houston to SA for the event! It sits in the pencil jar in the study, as a sacred emblem of youthful days. You are correct - the same architect designed both the towers, O'Neil Ford. He has a Wikipedia article. He earned his Architecture degree through the mail from a correspondence school! The online degree of the 1920's! Apparently, it taught him well!

How to spot tourists in San Antonio: when you drive by the boots and see people around them 😁. Long time resident from the area here. The city needs to figure out how to make that area safer since there is the exit from the mall right there. For good puffy tacos, go to Henry's Puffy Tacos or Los Barrios restaurant.

Thanks for the comment! We have done two separate Texas trips. The first was into El Paso and to Carlsbad, White Sands (both in New Mexico) and then over to Big Bend. There is a video of this trip on my channel if you want to see it. For this trip we spent two weeks and started in Dallas, Fort Worth, down to Houston, over to Corpus Christi, up to San Antonio and Austin. This was a whirlwind trip with only 1-2 days in each big city but it was fun to see so much of the state. There will be a full video on this trip too but it may take another month or so before I have it edited.

I would avoid Dallas, as driving there is a nightmare, and there is really nothing Texan about it. However, here in Arlington, which is just a short drive from Dallas, we have a large amusement park, and the stadiums for the professional football and baseballs teams. We are also just a short drive from Fort Worth, which has the Stockyards and many other museums and things of interest. From there, I would definitely say that San Antonio with a short stop off to New Braunfels (they are the only town in Texas with original German settlers that still speak the language, so there is a lot of interesting history there). You might find El Paso to be of interest as well, although that is quite a bit farther west.

If you go to SA, go in early Spring. A summer visit would be way too hot. There is plenty to do. Make sure to visit Southtown and King William.
You all should have gone to La Gloria at The Pearl! Great place for Mexican food and drinks!

I think there is a puffy taco restaurant or stand here in Southern California. It's called Arturo's Puffy Taco Stand and it's located in Whittier, CA.

I was struggling to find parking anywher near Alamo and riverwalk lol. Went last year but got nowhere to park, and some of those gated lots charge $30 per hour was crazy.

Tell Pops the number of rattles on a rattle snake do not equal 1 year for every rattle. The rattles form after a snake sheds it skin.
