    Hey I’m a sidearmer who recently developed a cutter of my own. I grip it like a curveball (middle finger on the right side of the horseshoe). When I go to throw this pitch, the palm of my hand is facing the plate and my fingers are pointed toward 3rd base. Be fore i release, I supinate a crap ton giving me the glove side movement. It works for me but do you have any tips you think might make this pitch better?

    Hey there. Lately when I’ve been throwing, I’ve been experiencing spasms at point of release causing my hand to hook the ball and throw a 4SFB like a cutter or slider and dart it low and away to righties (I’m a RHP) or releasing early causing me to throw behind righties. This issue has never happened to me before in all 10 years of playing. I’ve ruled out the yips because this issue occurs when I throw alone with nobody watching, and my forearm tendons have felt oddly tight. I think it could be from over-usage. What’s your opinion on what this could be?

      @@tootallforbaseball I haven’t had any pain whatsoever though, so I don’t think there’s any indication of a tear. I think it could more so be a strained muscle or tendon.

      Make sure you’re not leading with your elbow. If you’ve been throwing with super heavy plyos it can get you into an elbow leading pattern and make you more of a dart throwing pattern. This can cause you to supinate more or at a different time than normal creating cut

    A lot of these cutters are sliders, and a lot of these sliders are hard curveballs. Whatever it takes i reckon.
