I agree. Many channels like to have music added to some scenery shots. Honestly, I'm not watching a travel channel, I'm into it watching life of a guy doing some solo sailing.

I used to crew on a 108 ft 3-masted schooner that went along the Bahamian islands. There was a huge pod of dolphins that came by one evening, and from that point forward, a set of about 10 went with us for days. It is said that dolphins are the spirits of lost sailors, and why they hang out with boats-escorts and comforting creatures that for some reason always make you feel like you’re safe. So nice. What a lovely crossing. Thanks for sharing your experiences!
Your camera work is excellent especially as you doing everything solo. Drone shot of the boats on the turquoise water was unreal. Loved the dolphins 🐬 so cool
Really enjoyed these last couple of videos, well balanced with footage of sailing, food prep, sea life, technique discussions, and just sharing what life is like aboard s boat. Super excited for Africa!!!
Sam, your videos make me really happy. I’ve been watching every upload since you crossed the Atlantic (more or less). You bring me an extreme amount of joy knowing that you’re living life to what looks like the fullest. Your calm brings me calm, especially when I’m having a crazy day, week or month. Another great video!! This is why to watch sailing videos - actual sailing; not a travel video of the places you go, but long term on the water. Well done!!
Crazy how you're out there sailing in the ocean all alone, dealing with everything nature can throw at you and it's always when you get back to port and have to deal with people that there are ever any problems.
Bought your “I like the Ocean sticker came from America to me in Scotland Got it for my room and decided to place it on my gaming pc 😂. Love it so much and also the design is amazing with the yellow, orange and blues is so ‘summery’ and fun looking. Also I’m 17 and have been on many fishing boats, motor and some sailing but I’ve never sailed. Me and my Dad are hoping to get this one motorsailer next year and some of it is thanks to your amazing videos that have made me learn so much but I’d love to actually get out there and give it all a go. ❤ Love from Scotland 🏴 And keep up your amazing and inspiring videos Sam you’re great.
I keep saying it: you are a glass that overflows with positivity. It’s infectious - always smiling - never complaining, tomorrow will always be better than today. I’m a very keen (Mediterranean) sailor, and your videos are the ones that make me happiest. 🙏

Hey Sam. Love the content mate. Looking forward to you sailing down here to Australia 🇦🇺!! Mate. I really hope you don’t always rely on one simple shackle pin to hold that anchor chain up !! If that pops in a storm you don’t want chain and an anchor swinging around and smashing a hole in the hull. Find a better and more secure way with a fail safe backup on longer passages. Keep up the great work. J
Like magic the bioluminescence, experienced it myself a couple of weeks back (Biscay) and heavy dolphin traffic as well😃like playful puppy dogs of the sea.
Just a tip on any fastening through the deck: use several wraps of teflon tape to “bulk up” the item is a good idea. Simply using Sikaflex will simply push out and will leak (eventually).
Hi Sam, great video as always. I have noticed in several of your videos that you usually sail with a line dropped in the water that drags behind the boat, what is it for?
I think the 2nd yacht with the blue hull and red ensign was the same that I saw in Barcelona a few days ago. They were moored at the kiwi end of Americas cup area.
Oh man you should overnight in Tarifa harbor before crossing over to Africa. Super cool town with Moorish castle and loads of history. Nearby sande dune bays are amazing and there's the nearby town of Bolonia to visit, which has the best preserved Roman ruins of the Iberian peninsula, an entire Roman town modeled after Rome and museum that explains it all. And Tarifa and the five "almadraba" towns around it still catch tuna using the exact same techniques as the Romans did. Finally, spectacular hiking around Betis and Punta Paloma, or just the beach hike between Bolonia and Punta Paloma. But watch out for those 16+ knot levante winds
One day, one day soon I’ll be out there too! I go to look at a Allberg Rassy 31 monsun. Full keel and a hank on jib , been sitting for 20 . And of it’s in as good as shape as It looks. I will buy it and next summer or fall if I can get all the work done I am going to drop it in Lake Pepin here in Minnesota and motor sail it down the Mississippi River all the way to the Gulf and hang a left and cruise the coast of Florida and head to the keys then the Caribbean. Just wanted to thank you for inspiring me to chase my life long dream! I will dig into how to support you , I’ve never done that before, maybe I can send you a new winch handle every other month or so…thanks for the vids, especially liked the head cam footage or body cam footage . I don't get the change of scenery, and ocean sailing lol, but , the boats we see, just wow, to me it has become part of it, I like the huge rooster tails ✌️
Sam, if you're doing the Caribbean, Puerto Rico has several bio luminescent bays one of them is on the smaller island of Vieques, La Parguera is on the west side of the island and is the only one where boats are allowed.
He doesn't use a drone. He has the camera attached to a long, black pole. Great idea drones are prone to a very expensive loss.
