Super ATV Portal Gear Lift Install GEN 2 - Extreme UTV Tech

  • On this episode of Extreme UTV Tech we install a SuperATV Portal Gear Lift kit on Project Party Wagon. Most all of us want to run larger tires on our UTVs. But this can be a hard on parts and usually take certain permanent modifications to your machine like gear reduction in the transmission or a lift kit. Well the folks at SuperATV have the solution with their GDP Gen2 Portals. They are the same as the Gen1s with one key change. Pretty much everything on the Super ATV Portals Gen2 are much beefier. Carter is going to walk you through how to install them on your machine and give his review on the product. This way you can just watch the video instead of having to read the super atv portal instructions. Then on the next episode we are going to go test them out at King of the Hammers. Be sure to hit us up with any questions in the comments. Oh and sorry about all of the background noise in the video, Rocky Hollow Metal allowed us to use their lift for this video and they are a busy and noisy shop. Hopefully eventually we will have our own lift in the shop, but until then it is what it is. On another note, Have you ever seen a lifted RZR 4 seater look this good? It looks good thanks to those GEN 2 GDP Portals and 34s.
    Big Thanks to SuperATV for their help with this project- You can get this kit for your machine at www.SuperATV.com
    The GDP Portal Gear Lift we installed was $2899.95

    Portals rock.... cause they keep good shaft angles and allow the needed lift to gain ground clearance without sacrificing the strength of the axle shaft angles..

    • @BustedKnuckleVideo
      @BustedKnuckleVideo  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      All very true, only downside is added width but I think it is worth it.

    • @toyota4x4legend
      @toyota4x4legend 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      For competition and extreme park riding, it totally is. The trails are usually plenty wide, the extra width wheel to wheel increases stability.

    If you measure the toe-in while the suspension is hanging won't that measurement change when the vehicle is back on the ground? Of all the vehicles I've worked on the toe-in is always measured with the weight of the vehicle on the suspension.
