    I went from a 27 to a 31 tire on the Pioneer. We ride dirt roads 85% of the time. 15% gave me back stock gearing and doesn't eat up gas like a 30% would. There are reasons for a 15, which I think you stated in certain cases. When we do hit the extreme trails, low range usually gives me all the reduction I need. Anyways happy riding!

      You have to consider the extra stress 35's place on drivetrain, the easier the trans has to work turning bigger tires will make everything last longer....if all you do is ride on level ground you may be ok, but if you really use it you should go 30%.....calculations on gear ratio's do not always fit real world situations, trans, diff;s and axles will last longer with 30%

      I think i would do a tranny reduction, you need more in low than high, so really neither portal option would be good on this and I am no fan of using portals for anything high speed, just too small of a gear box and amount of oil to keep cool on extended runs.

    Does anyone make a straight planetary gearbox without the lift option just for the gear reduction benefits?

    • @Hunterworks
      @Hunterworks  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Do not think that would be possible, if so the box would have to be twice as thick to support shafts and bearings etc. But the answer is no sir, sorry.

    So a few weeks ago in Moab I climbed a real steep/slow rock crawling hill in my 2019 Rzr4T. Made it but when I reached the top I could smell the belt. So with all the experience you have and those who you talk with what ratio would you suggest for the gear reduction for the transmission? I don't want to use portals.

    I bought 15% before i saw your video. I am running 33" (Motohavoks) tires on 20" wheels. This I believe puts me back around stock. I also am running Cobra heavy duty axles.
    I also have a set of 30" tires on16" wheels. And using a Hunterworks belt. Your thoughts/input please.

    Hello hunter thank you for your video. I have a ranger 1000 XP 2018 with a broken tranny now . Looking to rebuild it with upgraded rhyno 2.0 right now because that is the 1st part I broke a think and then the case on the driver side in the tranny got a Small hole. I'm assuming the worst inside ones. In the rebuild it would like to use on the reverse change to a bigger size and I'm not sure on the gear reduction that I should use. What would you advice for trails

    • @Hunterworks
      @Hunterworks  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That’s a very broad question. The answer would depend on what vehicle what kind of riding what percentage portals what gearing in tranny. Video is a general info video.

      @Hunterworks Inc. RMAX2 on 35" tires. A little of everything. Desert, mountain trails, crawling in moab/sand hollow. If anyone made long travel for the RMAX, I would definitely go that route instead.
