I use to live about 45 minutes from Pigeon Forge and have been there many times. Dolly Parton's stone soup doesn't have a lot of meat- it's as we use to say "poo folks cookin' ". Meat is expensive and mainly there for taste. Vegetables we grew so we had plenty. It's interesting to research the origins of "stone" soup. Love your recipes! Good stick to your ribs meals! Thanks for sharing!
I'm here from Our Small Town Life 😊. I have been to the Old Mill restaurant and it was one of the best restaurants I've ever been to. Their biscuits almost made me cry because they tasted like my grandmas. Thanks for sharing these recipes!
Yes, it’s such a great restaurant. Breakfast and lunch is what we usually do there since dinner can be kind of pricey. Their banana nut muffins for breakfast are yummy too! Thank you for watching! 😊
Today is probably our last day in the 80's. It was 88 today. The rest of the week is in the 70s. and low 60's . Your soups look yummy. Thanks for being apart of the collaboration. I like soups any time of the year.
Hi Amanda! All of these soups look amazing! I remember years ago reading this story called "Stone Soup", I saved it and thought I'd post it. ONCE UPON A TIME,,, there were two unemployed and very poor men who decided to become beggars so they wouldn't starve to death. 'Well', they thought, 'this will be easy'. They were turned down at every door and tavern and were shooed out of town. 'Eureka! I have an idea' said one fellow and he proceeded to fill his pot with water from the nearby river. He asked his companion to find a large rock and to scrub it on the river's edge. The companion did just so and brought it to his friend just as the townspeople were drawing water from the river. The friend put the stone into the boiling water. 'Hey there, you two, just what are you cooking"? The fellow shouted across the river. "Why it's just stone soup! Please my friend, have a taste." So the new friend waded through the water and dipped his spoon into the stone soup. ''Gracious me, this is the best stone soup I have ever tasted! But you know, I have some onions and some beans in my kitchen that would make your stone soup taste spectacular. Would you mind?" ' Why no kind sir if you think it would help my meager soup'. Soon the laundress came over with an apron full of potatoes. 'Excuse me sir but if you are going to put his onions into your stone soup you surely would want my new potatoes to sweeten the taste." ''Well yes, we would...'' One by one the villagers dropped in their offers, a pheasant plucked clean, celery and radishes, rutabagas and turnips and even a haunch of beef. Finally, after adding a bottle of fine wine the pot was filled to the top. "Patience dear villagers. As you all know stone soup cannot be rushed, It must simmer the full two hours''. While they waited some went home for honey cakes and loaves of bread and some went for cheese and fruit and even tables and chairs. Soon the hour arrived and the villagers dined on Stone Soup to their heart's content. No one could recall ever eating such delicious stone soup. As dark fell upon them they asked the beggar-men if they would serve stone soup again next midday. No, they lamented, they would be making coin soup and they would love to invite the villagers to dine. Hu-rah! They would bring coins, meat, fowl and cockles and perhaps bread for the coin soup and went home sated and content that they would dine better the next day."
Hi Amanda! So happy to see you today! I love soups no matter what time of year but, especially in the cooler/cold weather! Thanks for sharing your recipes! I hope everyone in your family are doing well!
There have been so many good soup recipes, I don't know where to start. I really have never made homemade soups until this year, so I am excited to try some of your recipes as well. I am going to try and freeze half of every soup I make and then it will be easy just to take them out of the freezer and make some homemade bread. It is starting to get in the 60's here.
It's getting cooler, so definitely soup season! Shredded vs diced carrots....I think sometimes if they're shredded in a soup or casserole, they kind of get lost in the cooking process. Yes! I love having precooked burger in the freezer. So handy to have. When I was raising my children, cheeseburger soup was an oft requested dinner. The Stone Soup looks great as well. A chowder is always welcome in my home! Great video, thank you!
Oh My! I'm here! I love cheeseburgers! 3 soups!! This was absolutely amazing, each one, of them. I need to flavor profiles! Thank you Amanda , so nice to meet you
I love the videos where you get 3 for 1! But really, all three soupd are so good for the Fall and Winter and I can't wait to try each of them this year!!
I live in the Oregon Blue Mountains and it’s already in the 40s up here. Oregon doesn’t mess around, once the first day of fall happens summer is OvEr!
hi Amanda - All these recipes sound so good. I will have to give them a try, i am a big soup person. I have found that you get more meat if you use a ham shank rather than a ham hock, I also ask someone at the meat counter to cut the shank into three pieces as it is easier to get the meat off the bone, Thank you for sharing these recipes and I hope you have a very blessed day.
I love crockpot soups! And fall is finally here where I live. Highs in the 70's lows in the 40's. Perfect soup weather! Thank you for sharing! I've never heard of Dolly Parton soup and I just started cooking turnips last year.
I’m so excited for cooler temperatures! I love turnip greens but I don’t think I’ve had actual turnips until this soup. I need to try them some different ways since they kind of blend in with the soup and I’m not sure of the flavor exactly. Thank you for watching! ❤️
3 more great recipes to try! With food prices being what they are..having such a variety of soups to choose from due to these collaborations, is gonna be wonderful! I think I`m gonna set up a new binder just for all the yummy soups! Thanks for sharing
Dont forget to wash the stone really well before adding to tour soup. Adding a stone to the soup actually adds minerals. 😊 Great soup recipes! Thank you for sharing! New friend.
I do enjoy a crock pot meal- so easy. I'm like you, I'll follow a recipe once, decide what I like and what I think it's missing. Then try it again. I appreciate that you gave honest feedback while you you were showing the recipes. 💞
My family loves a good hearty soup recipe! I’m starting a work from home job soon and I am looking for new crockpot recipes - your video is just what I need! That cheeseburger soup is at the top of my list❤️
I never really ate soup, other than chicken noodle, until about 3-4 years ago. I still haven't eaten a lot of different ones but I'd like to change that. These all look wonderful! Thanks for sharing.
I love chicken noodle soup! I used to go to this soup restaurant and they had so many different types of soups. It was fun to try something different and inspired me to branch out with soups. Thank you for watching! 😊
I agree about having beef all cooked ahead of time, I can mine and it makes meals so much easier. Thank you for your recipe and I am t4uly enjoying this collaboration
Loving this collaboration. Lots of different and interesting recipes. Love recipes for the crock pot. My favorite soup is french onion. I always add extra onions and lots of cheese. Thanks for sharing.
Goodness sakes! This cheeseburger soup looks so delicious, and I love the big potatoes! But topping it with pickles takes the cake for me. Thank you so much for sharing this recipe in the collaboration with Mennonite Farmhouse.
TRIPLE play LOVE IT i would add a can of cream corn to make it more creamy instead of all instead of just niblets my favorite fall soups are dump soup dill pickle and crabapple soup great job
My family loves soup. I have made stone soup before but I made it according to the story. My favorite soup changes according to the weather and my mood. LOL! I am a new subscriber.
I hear you on your favorite changing. I can be like that too. It’s always hard for me to pick an absolute favorite of anything. So glad to have you here! Thank you for watching! ❤️
102* yesterday here in Central Texas. BUT... we did get a break by gettin' nearly 2 inches of rain for only the second time since May 10th! Chickens would NOT come out to run in the pasture, was too scared of the rain last night. Corn Chowder, mmm.
All of your soups look great! I also love soup no matter what time of the year. Any left over I freeze for something fast on a buy day! Thank you for sharing.
Good looking soups! I've never heard of that Dolly Parton soup but have made too many batches to count of the Dolly Parton cabbage 'diet' soup and love it. All those soups look like they'd be wonderful to take to an autumn potluck.
Loved all of your soups but my fav was the corn chowder. Yes I have eaten at that restaurant in Pigeon Forge & you are right everything there is delicious. God bless & have a great day.
I love anything made with corn. I was happy to seeing you made Corn Chowder. I canned so much corn this year and this would be a great way to use it. I also want to add the bacon! Yum! Thanks for sharing.
Hey sweet friend. Hope you and your family are doing well. We're continuing to pray for y'all. Can't wait to add these soups to our meal plan. Have a Beautiful and Blessed day and week. See you next video. Stay safe and healthy. God Bless.
@@FaithFoodandFamily hey sweet friend. We're doing pretty good, I had 2 teeth pulled and 1 filling today. Hope you and your family are doing well. You're welcome, friend. Thank you.

It’s going back up a bit here too. We’ll go back and forth a bit before it finally stays cool. Hope your area cools off soon! Thank you for watching! 😊
These all look like they will be very warm and comforting. Thank you for sharing. I have been to the Old Mill in Pigeon Forge. There corn fritters are awesome!
I almost missed your video I didn’t see the Souptember thumbnail but saw this on LeAnne’s channel. These recipes looked amazing and meal prep is what I do as well cook up hamburger meat for dog food ahead of time and freeze little bits. It makes things so easy. I am a new friend. I hope you ha e a blessed week! Wendy🧡🐞🎃
I just love this collaboration! What a great idea to add pickles to the cheeseburger soup! That’s actually the one that I made last year and I can only imagine how much more my family will like it now with that edition! The other two soups are new to me. I’ll have to maybe give them a try.
@Faith, Food and Family Hi Amanda. Kind thoughts and hugs to you and your family. Dealing with scary illness is hard on everyone. On the corn chowder, red pepper (sweet red bell pepper) is wonderful in Corn Chowder. Can't remember if I had it at that restaurant though. Been way too long since I was in that neck of the woods. Also wondering if part of the corn was canned cream style and cut back on the cream but still have creamy soup would make it really nice.

A friend shared it here in the comments. Such a good story! Thank you for watching! 😊
I just love this collaboration! What a great idea to add pickles to the cheeseburger soup! That’s actually the one that I made last year and I can only imagine how much more my family will like it now with that edition! The other two soups are new to me. I’ll have to maybe give them a try.
I figured pickles would fit right in with that soup! Thank you for watching! ❤️
First time watching your channel. I also love fall. I think all 3 of these soups would be a hit with my familly.

Hi Amanda.
Thank you so much! ❤️ yes, I bet red pepper and cream style corn would both be good. Thank you for watching! 😊
Cheeseburger soup, I've heard of it but never made it. I will try it soon.😊
