Yep. Splatling player's worst pet peeve. GET OUT OF MY WAY PEEOPLE!!
man, it's so annoying when u have an enemy, basically dead, and your team runs in and blocks the killing shots and dies on top of it.
Who will win:

The situation that cost the entire game if your the splatling and a teammate is blocking the line of sight
I feel that pain as i mostly can relate as i main in hydra splatling
When I play splatlings I sometimes feel like I've switched from backliner to back massager for my teammates. 😂
After the game I’ll tell my teammate, “did you enjoy your back massage?” And they know immediately they were right in front of me. Lol

As a backline this is actually the bane of my existence, if you're a frontliner please for the love of squid actually look for where your backliners are positioned so you dont accidentally block their line of fire
ikr, or perhaps if your a frontliner, go to the front? that way we can actually push the objective
being a hydra main means being constantly exhausted by teammates blocking your shots
I've been experiencing this with splatlings much more often lately, keep your distance from the splatlings, heck even play aggressively when they're aiming at the enemy, a good splatling will be able to keep the entire space painted for you to pressure
Always love the "double backline is not competitively viable" comment when matchmaking keeps saying "did someone ask for a 4 backline team?"
For REAALLL!! The matchmaking in Splat3 is definitely less balanced than it was in Splat2. I'm constantly getting more than one backline on my team and it's really annoying. You really only need one and it makes it difficult to push forward with 2 or more because you don't have any slayers to push the front line.
Yep, 3 E-liters and me, at the time I was maining a CSJ. Painted and threw my WB to mark ‘em so they could splat ‘em. Honestly, it really turned into a fun game. Guess that’s not a good example. 😂😂
It's a good thing Splatoon doesn't have friendly fire. I would definitely have splatted more of my teammates jumping in front of my Hydra fire than I have the opposing team lol

Nothing hard counters backliners harder than an out of position airheaded frontliner

I think it's also important to note that some weapons only get value for a set period of time after a lot of start up frames, or after a charge. Getting blocked increases those weapons downtime drastically, moreso than a shooter. Like you talked about with heavy, imagine standing in front of a hydra's charge. Now they have to charge twice before they have impact on the game. Same goes for chargers, and explo has a lot of start up and endlag frames. Even some midline weapons like squiffer, mini, Nautilus and dynamo can be increasingly frustrating when all your shots are being blocked.
Explo generally doesn't have this problem, since it literally always jump fires and is probably aiming either straight/up, or directly below it anyways.
One of the benefits of not having to look straight at where you want to hit I guess.
I appreciate the little PSA at the end related with Splatlings and Tenta Missiles specifically. As a long time Splatling player getting body blocked by your own teammates is the worse feeling and often gets me or both of us splatted more often then not.
Your point on Tenta Missiles is also very important, I've seen most of my team get splatted by missiles sometimes just because they ran into each other when they were marked. This happens in both Ranked AND in Salmon Run.
the comment about keeping missiles away from your teammates can also definitely apply to salmon run when dealing with flyfish

To combine a couple of the points, double backline also sucks because if you're sitting in the same place, one backline can block the others shots (it really sucks when me and the liter have the same brain lmao)
i was playing hydra in turf (mandatory tri-stringer mention) and one of my teammates used the whole shot blocking thing to try and force me to squid party. that was the most infuriating thing ever…

Squid partying should be a reportable offense honestly, if you wanna mash ZL then make a private pool for it, don't ruin people's games because you wanna do the funny haha meme

There's a pool called "SquidParty" with like dozens of pbs of just squidparties and low level turf war lobbies. So uhhh yeah it's called Pools people. Nintendo should advertise certain Pools more.
@@johndelanie3649 If you really want to report it, go to the Lobby terminal -> Battle Logs -> go to the match and hit (-) to Report -> pick the player -> Intentionally Not Contributing. Pretty sure bagging the whole match counts for that.
And yes, this is also [salmon run] advice.
Would like to add onto something you mentioned about Tenta Missiles - if you have Killer Wail 5.1 locked onto you, PLEASE try to be aware of your team as well in a similar fashion to Tenta Missiles.
Nobody likes dying because of their teammate's lack of coordination or awareness.
kinda harder with killer wail since it goes right through anything... so if you're behind a wall behind me... I'm sorry if I don't know you're there.
I deal with this a lot more in Salmon Run, where I kept smack them with ink from behind, so I try to shoot higher above them, just hoping it didn’t hit them and wasting my ink 😂

I play back lines and non quick respawn dualies and I have a strange problem on my gameplay that when I play my main (dualies squelchers) I find my mobility is so high I often don’t give myself enough time to position correctly seperate from my teammates and this hopefully will help me know more where to be, just putting it into gameplay

Still remembering the time my teammate that was A LUNA BLASTER, stood in front of my E-Liter charge.
Like, three times in a row.
I fully charged to snipe on the tower, and my Luna friend just. Stood. Blasted at range, holding his fire button, which... of course.. didn't hit a darn thing.
Every time I moved to get around him, he'd just move right back in front of my laser. Literally had to fire while falling off a perch to even have a chance to aim (and I'm not that practiced at that).
And there isn't an "OUT OF MY WAY!" call-out button.
If it was turf war, I wouldn't really care too much.
But it was ranked! We were both A+! I nearly lost a series 0-3 for that.
Really good and informative video here. Working as a good teammate is important on this game, and leading everyone to work as a team is what makes you win games in solo-q most of the times.

I feel like this shouldnt even be a thing. The amount of times i wouldve gotten a kill, but then my teammates keep blocking my shots and doing noithing, and then they die, and suddendly what shouldve been an advantage for our team turns in to a 2v4 really quickly.
Your shots should go through your teammates, instead of being completely bodyblocked.

I feel like the "don't block your backliners" is worse in S3 for some reason, possibly because the maps are more cramped, I think a lot of players don't even realize that you can body block shots in this game even though it clearly makes a particular sound and such.
As a splatling player, I humbly ask you PLEASE GET OUT OF MY WAY!!! I'm not your personal massager, I'm a heavily armed gattling gun and I need you to go away. PAY ATTENTION to where your backline is positioned and where they are firing. We are literally the generals on the battlefield. We see everyone and everything because we are the furthest back. If we are aiming in a certain direction, it's because there is an enemy there. Try to follow up so we can work together to splat our opponent. I'm not allowed to move forward until it's safe to do so. If my front and mid line teammates don't help me get splats, then I have to retreat further back or try to hold my ground where I am depending on the situation. So just please don't hang around us. A skilled backline player can hold their position the entire game if our teammates don't lure opponents to us.
Started out maining as a backliner, had to stop. The pain when I was broken really affected me and I felt so guilty. Like it was all my fault we lost the game. 😢

bunched up people are free multikills lmao. it´s really funny when a blaster or bomb can just kill multiple people, at once, or fast killtime weapons just laser through both without time to react because both people got ambushed at once essentially. nice vid!
Stepping on eachother toes very common in freelance salmon run. I could’ve helped my teammate defeat that boss but nope they’d rather be in the way then they get splatted
as a splatling player, the amount of times I wish teammates would not block half of my charged shots is quite a lot
I actually just started trying to learn heavy splatling so I can get more used to their positioning and habits to avoid this and maybe pick up a new weapon
Splatlings and backline chargers are tricky because you rely on your teammates more than any other weapon type, and it can be really frustrating to lose constantly if you don't know where you should be standing. But don't give up. Once you learn your positioning and actually stay alive the majority of the game these weapons are really rewarding to play!

I main charger but Splatlings are my side piece. Frontlines going from, we are going to let people through to the backline when I play charger to I’m going to stand in front of you when playing Splatling
I feel so bad when I accidentally block a teammates shots... I think I'm better at positioning at this point so it's not happening nearly as much, but in some choke points it's such an awful feeling...

I'm a hydra main and so many people have blocked my shots. 3/4 times my shots get blocked, we both end up killed.
Omg, I love deliberately getting in front of hydras and eliters! Just doing my part against backlines, even on my team.

I have done an accidental quad kill with my clash because the enemy just clumped together...
I'm a tristringer main(almost to 5 stars but I prefer salmon run!!!) And this happens SO often
Its so commom for teammates to sit on the perches with me instead of pushing even when I'm playing as a fully backline support
I have this problem even more with teammates when I'm playing a more defensive midliner and teammates roll up on me with autobombs/missiles/killer wail trailing them and if I'm low on ink theres Zero way for me to escape

Splattershot main here. I have a friend that main the hydra splatling and she's so mad when there's a another frontline just standing in front of her and blocking her shot. Like i never understand what are they trying to do. Not only we have one less player in the frontline. Our backliner is pretty much useless because they cannot put some long range pressure to the enemy
A lot of frontliners want to hang out with the backliner for some reason. I play chargers and Splatlings and sometimes I’m just sitting there like wtf are you doing?

@@BerryCake. Yeah, but it's not as bad as when matchmaking puts all the backlines on the same team. I'm a charger main and chargers can't really push up so they rely on frontlines to do it for them. Splatlings can push up a little better but still not great
@@Dreadkid08 i have a match where there's 3 hydra splatling on my team and i was playing splattershot. We actually ended up won the match because the other team has a really bad team comp for the mode. But it still feels so weird to do a push by myself in the frontline

a lot of people blaming teammates and feeling vindicated in here, most being splatlings. you shouldn't be in a position where you would be shooting your teammates in the back. charge around a corner maybe, create a bit of space. try something new
