Checkpoints were an amazing addition and now I (hopefully) won't want to stop to playing Splatoon for the day after my first rainmaker match of the day
@@guythatdosethingssometimes2651 I would say skill and team matter more. Splatoon games really down to your decision making since some of the troublesome special in 2 are removed for 3, you know, we don’t need Stingray, right?
I can confirm that it can happen with check points too, it's only 2 or 3 seconds longer since you have to break the barrier again after getting the checkpoint
oh yeah it still happens, but it gives the enemy team an actual chance to defend, so at that point its more so on the enemy team than it is on brute forced
I've played games in 3 where people have tried to take it to the end before they got a checkpoint and learnt the hard way that checkpoints are not optional
and this was even worse in Splatoon 1 Blackbelly skatepark I remember a match that lasted a total of 10 seconds 2 hydras, me a dynamo roller, and an E-liter the 2 Hydras throw their bombs at the rainmaker shield, it blows up splatting 2 enemies, I climb up the tower and splat the remaining one, the E-liter pushes up and uses burst bomb to take out another enemy who was on top of the wall near mid, no enemies on sight so I grab the rainmaker and push to the end goal
Well, to be fair, the Pro did disconnect at the start, and I think the scope you guys killed after popping rain did too (not 100% sure tho because they might’ve had a sec or two left to respawn), but yeah you absolutely demolished those guys.
That happened to me as well. Within 30 seconds I made it to the pedestal instantly. So yes checkpoints make sense. Plus rainmaker is more fun with checkpoints on my opinion.
I remember when I used to carry in Splatoon 1's rainmaker mode, finishing in just short of a minute most of the time in camp triggerfish. Good times!! I suppose the checkpoints make it certainly more fair for players who encounter people like me :P
I miss stingray, that would be the only reason why I come back to this game, and maybe the k jrs bubble combo, and humpback pump track, and splashdown canceling, and shifty stations
