Fr. Bill discusses the novels of C.S. Lewis, and the priorities Jesus left with us when He Ascended into Heaven. He also addresses the importance of Creation and the Eschaton in relation to those priorities as we await, hope in and expect the eventual Return of Jesus at the End of Time.

In South Africa, we used to have a public holiday for Ascension Thursday. But when the new government came in to power and they were not Christian,(!!!), they cancelled that day as a public holiday! So the bishops moved Ascension day to the next Sunday so that people could still go to mass. It used to be a day of obligation on Ascension Thursday.

If you mean the Chronicles of Narnia, "they" are not. If you mean the Bible, because it's the Word of God, and still, they are not. "They" are basing religion on Jesus Christ. Everything else begins with and derives from Him.
