  • In this video, I tint the tail lights on my 2015 Audi A4 B85 S-line. I'm not a fan of blacked out lights so I used a film that was a perfect shade. #AudiA4Mods #B8Mods #B8.5Mods #AudiMods

    A place near me tried to charge me $300 for tinting my taillights JUST for the taillights (because they can’t tint headlights in my state) I laughed and went on amazon and got a headlight and taillight tint set with ALL the tools for $35!!😂

    Wow you made that look easy. Mine had a million bubbles, proper nightmare.

    • @TheFlexxGarage
      @TheFlexxGarage  ปีที่แล้ว

      It’s not hard as long as you use the right material. Some films out there are terrible and not designed for tail lights or headlights. Mine were designed and can easily be heated and pulled to be mostly wrinkle free over the lights before I even had to squeegy.

    Looks really tidy - subtle on the rear - the tint on the front reflectors is a great move - you guys over there luck out on front lights with orange reflectors...

      Nothing new. I've tinted the tail lights on all my past cars on youtube. For some reason, people enjoy watching it even though its the same process for all my cars.

  • @MrGhoulie
    @MrGhoulie 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    For smoking out the reflectors did you just stick the tint on the headlight? I’ve seen some people take apart the headlight housing and do it on the inside

    • @TheFlexxGarage
      @TheFlexxGarage  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Stick on (clearly shown in the tail end of the video).
      Don’t take apart your headlight if it’s your first time. Cause it will never seal up like oem

    Loving the vids, recently purchased an A4 B8.5 2013 and am looking into getting some mods done. What are your thoughts about sweeping/sequential indicator lights? I heard they are partly illegal in the US (not in AUS) but I'm sure there's a way around it?

    • @TheFlexxGarage
      @TheFlexxGarage  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      they are cool. In the US, the car must have the very very first turn signal flash to be large. Not the tiny first led of the led strip. That's why most newer audi has a large flashing turn signal that flashes the same time the led strip sweeps. So if you can wire up a regular turn signal to turn on the same time as the sequential led strip, you should be good.

    It would be easier to apply ANY film to the car if you use water with soap. It gives you the ability to move the film when it's already applied and delete any wrinkles/bubbles. And once you're done, just let it sit for a day-two without washing/touching it and it would be good.

    • @TheFlexxGarage
      @TheFlexxGarage  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Not true. That's harder for beginners, it's messier, and it's harder for curves. The one I used applies just like vinyl so you can stretch it, pull it, heat it, and it has air release technology.

    Is this removable if you wanted to go back to the standard taillights at some later point?

    • @TheFlexxGarage
      @TheFlexxGarage  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      of course..it's just tint film. Peel is right off. Even easier if the cars been sitting in the sun or applying some heat using a blow dryer or heat gun.

  • @Keepthefaith116
    @Keepthefaith116 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    So what tint percentage would you say this is?

    • @TheFlexxGarage
      @TheFlexxGarage  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That’s a tough one. If I had to guess, and this is a wild guess, maybe 25-30%?

      I just bought enough to cover 2 tail lights. I think it was 16”x48” to cover 2 tail lights. Look in the links in my description.

    • @TheFlexxGarage

      Not bad. Just heat it well and pull in a V shape to make sure it has as little wrinkles as possible before squeegee

  • @jamar8887

    How much %tint

    • @TheFlexxGarage
      @TheFlexxGarage  ปีที่แล้ว

      Don’t know. They don’t sell it by %. It’s either light smoke or dark smoke. I bought light smoke so the lights are still a deep red and not all black.
