    Congrats on getting the E-starter, it’s such a game changer for solo training.

      Yeah it really is! I'm stoked about it. Having used the apps for a while, the e-Starter is a notable upgrade. Also I feel like since the reaction is included in my times, it amps up the intensity even more than when I used the apps.

      Sounds good to me! I’ve been working hard since my last competition a month ago and now working hard towards that 10 second 100. Still only 15yr old so hopefully everything comes together. Keep producing informative vids they help a lot.

    In USTA competition, is there a minimum or maximum amount of time between the set and the gun? I have seen some sprinters get up into the set position very quickly and others move a little bit more slowly. I would hate to be moving slowly and realize that the gun is going to go before I expect it. Thanks.

    Great video Cody. Thank you. Just curious on how you came to those measurements. Is it Based on height or distance from the blocks?

    • @ATHLETE.X
      @ATHLETE.X  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks! Just a combination of experience and seeing what top sprinters are able to do. Ralph Mann's book suggests hitting at 0.12m from the line, which for me is very close. Simon Hansen told me he thinks he hits around 20cm. I hit around 50cm if I'm not focusing on it. So basically just moved it back from where I usually hit the ground and at a place that allows for otherwise good mechanics.

    I have one question for the supplement creatine , how many weeks we should use for the season ? For my situation , I’m a sprinter of 200m-400m (22.51 and 47.87 )
    I will begin my competition season in January to March , should I begin now to the end of march with no interruption? It’s my first time to try supplement 😄

    Are there any cues to help whip my leg. I get my thigh at almost 90 degrees but I don't get much leg extension. Any tips are appreciated.

    • @ATHLETE.X

      I would just be focusing on attacking down very rapidly more than anything.

    How can you launch out of the blocks with all your power if you’re thinking about getting your foot down sooner? I feel if you’re trying to get your foot down sooner, you’ll have less power coming out of the blocks.

    • @ATHLETE.X
      @ATHLETE.X  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Good question and for some this is the case. Regardless, you can maintain the explosive start while also getting the foot down sooner, but only if your timing is good. The fastest athletes are very good at switching agonists off when it’s time to switch the direction of the leg movement. They can launch out using super high RFD, but are also able to then shut those prime movers off so the antagonists can reverse the leg without pausing at end range of motion as long as a slower sprinter would. If two muscles are pulling in opposite directions because we’re not timing contraction-relaxation we’ll, the movement will be slower.

      Another thing to consider is the angle of projection plays a role. If we fire out too high our flight time and stride length will be lower. If we fire too low we crash. But in between there’s a sweet spot where we can handle how aggressive the angle is, and it sort of forces us to get the foot down quickly without thinking about it.
      At the end of the day when we’re in the blocks we need to just push aggressively, rapidly, and not think. So I’d be looking at my foot placement between reps or after practice to see if here’s any major deviation from what we want to see, but during most training reps it’s not something im going to intentionally think about. That goes for any technical cue or similar type of thing.
      The best reps are found when we’re feeling and sensing, not thinking and analyzing. Seek the feeling of rapid explosive launch and fast attack back and it’ll figure itself out.

    • @husker16
      @husker16 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@ATHLETE.X I like that “feeling and sensing, not thinking and analyzing”. So many newbie sprinters overthink it rather than just go out and run fast.

    Do you still measure the blocks by leg length?

    • @ATHLETE.X
      @ATHLETE.X  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yeah I go 54cm to the first block and 40cm between the blocks. If your torso is extra long you may need to go further back to feel comfortable but for me the calculations in that video I made work well

    Mah blocks... I am 0-5 to 1s faster without them. If I get more speed, strenght and explosiveness I would still be faster without them. Its just those ***pid rules.
