I did Kooks, no cats, I love them. However regardless of which headers you choose, I would have them ceramic coated. Being coated they will flow better, and make less heat. In turn you will make better horsepower.
I've been thinking of bbk but I'll have to check the Texas speed since it's almost similar price and it comes with the mid pipes for $800 or so, thank you
Just so you don't spread miss information. the down stream o2 has nothing to do with the way the car runs. it is simply there to tell the ecu how well the cats are working. it measures exhaust gas post cats to make sure the air is cleaner. the front 2, or up stream are wide band. these are the 2 that the car uses to change fueling. but the reason you shouldn't WOT is because the headers flow more air and the cams need to be adjusted for that.
Stop saying "obviously" so much, man! You are smarter than a lot of people if you are this dedicated to a channel I assure you. It isn't obvious to a lot of people out there.
I’m thinking of going with Doug thorley tri-y headers for a 2013...Just doing my research because I’m really not planning to track my car, most people with a boss 302 go with kooks or ARH. What will really impact my decision is something that held to give a very aggressive exhaust note; I’m open to suggestions.
I'm a fan of Kooks and they turn out a good product...but there have been multiple dyno comparison and while they rate near the top, I've never read a comparison where they have won.
Kooks is king. I have 1-7/8 and I love them. You don’t need ceramic coated regardless they all get hot. If you’re going to invest into car parts you should buy the best. Corsa is good as well as a second choice. Personally cheap long tubes are worthless and tells people a lot about your character.
@@JR-us1ne that’s another great choice I was gonna with ARH but my buddy told that ARH is a copy of kooks. ARH branched off Kooks, ex-kooks employees. I read a few complaints online and TH-cam about ARH but I guess it depends on what you like. I get a lot of compliments on my set up.
Hey very informative, I gave you a thumbs up man like your videos. I don't mean to beat you up but correct me if I'm wrong. When you said the stock cats try to get as much out of it as apposed to high flow cats?? Don't high flow cats with a more straight threw setup retain more HP? You went from BBK to Corsa $1300 to kooks $2200 dollar exhaust. There are a lot more big name brands in between let alone ARH's which are one of the most popular. Honestly I watched this video hoping to get more of an idea of average HP #s between the headers. I know tunes will vary and they're all probably very similar. So I can gain up to 20 WHP with just having headers and a stock muffler but with a good tune I can get 20WHP? A little confusing and contradicting is all.
Lydia Miller slightly confused on your question.. but as for the last part; all headers should gain around the same amount of hp if they’re the same size. Tune does play a role but most good tuners will obviously have similar tunes. Yes there are more options tho.
Also, I know a lot of people say to go full exhaust when you get headers, but is it really that big of a difference between headers w full exhaust rather than headers with just straight pipe?
Love the video. There’s a couple of people around here running speed daddy headers on there s550 and they love them. I might go that direction for the A.N.
@@anthonyvp22 yep that what i did, i heated up, took a 4in pipe and layed against the marked side where the shaft hits the runner, and hitted couple of times. the bend was nice a smooth.
Corsa or ARH IMO best quality. Best bang for buck TSP and stainless works. As for why I just have positive opinions of them. I loved my TSP headers, nice welds, angled O2’s for E85, but of course the same will hold true for Corsa and ARH. For boosted applications the ARH 2” primaries are also a nice upgrade and only 2 or 3 companies make 2” primary size headers for coyotes
Can you do the headers and run them without a tune? I want to get headers but I need to find a tuner, so till then I'd love to get them installed in the meantime.

Don Won like I said they’re all very similar because you can’t design a header too many different ways. I haven’t heard much about them which is kind of good and kind of bad, but I’m not a huge fan of their exhausts. They don’t have a good sound in my own opinion! And they drone TERRIBLY but I know people who like them so it’s totally up to you 👍🏼

The other issue is these guys all going catless are going to have issues in a few yrs maybe even 2019 or 2020.
