Have you ever heard of the Halifax Donair? It was created in Halifax by a Greek immigrant to Canada. He started off with making gyros, but that didn’t catch on (at least not at that time). He then changed the meat and created a simple sauce made out of garlic vinegar and condensed milk. Because I’m diabetic, I make my sauce out of evaporated milk, Splenda for my sweetener and add garlic and thicken my sauce by adding a bit of corn starch and cooking it till it reaches to my desired thickness. I think you’ll be surprised how good they are. You can add things like fresh tomatoes, onion and lettuce (I’ve heard of people adding things like pineapple), but Donairs are great with just the sauce, mozzarella cheese and the meat. This dish is so popular that you can find Donair shops all across Canada. I’m guessing the city I live in there must be close to 80 plus Donair place. There a a bunch of videos on TH-cam you can look at to see how Donairs are made right from the meat (ten minutes to prep) to the sauce.

Hey Matt! This looks great! I have a question: I make Alfredo pasta often for my family, and we all love it! However, once we refrigerate the leftovers, I find that the sauce separates (the butter hardens separate from the cream). How can I keep this from happening? Any tips you can give me will be much appreciated🙂. Thanks!
