    Thanks for the recipe Mr MIH 💥. My go to is Prego or Bertolli. I’ve always stayed away from homemade sauce because I’m in the kitchen for a good time not a long time (pun intended) but this looks doable 👍🏽.

    Cook onions first. Garlic comes second. Once you start to smell the garlic, quickly cover it with sauce. If you don't all the best parts of the garlic go into the air and not into your sauce. Then the garlic will get bitter and make your sauce more bitter. You always want to cover your garlic with whatever you cooking it with the second you smell it.

    • @barbarajackson4988
      @barbarajackson4988 2 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      @@brandanholman453 Of course everything is subjective, but I like it and feel as though the cost is worth it. That said, I always try to find it on sale. The ingredients are fairly simple and It seems like a good value to me. What’s really good is when I brown some Italian sausage then remove. I use a little red wine to deglaze the pan. Add the Rao’s, a little water and simmer briefly before adding the sausage back in. Let it cook for as long as you’re able. (Of course until the meat is cooked through) I find it tastes special and homemade for a quick meal. Victoria is a good alternative too.

    Tomato Paste: My mom has ALWAYS used Contadina tomato paste which is what I use. I've tried other brands but always come back to this one. Fresh Garlic: Always. Yellow Onion: It's a little sweeter but it kinda replaces the sugar to cut down on the acidity of the tomato paste and the stewed tomatoes for my homemade sauce. Still a pinch of sugar works.

    I usually make my own marinara sauce, pretty much the same method you made yours. In a pinch, I do use store bought Brand - Victoria Marinara sauce. It is a lower carb marinara sauce comparable to the Rao's brand and a less expensive. Also I have made the swap from using panko bread crumbs to using panko style pork rinds, they are no carbs. I do my best to cut back on carbs where I can, but I do love pasta.

    I don't even have any idea why chicken parm is one of my favorite comfort foods. I didn't grow up eating it, my first time I had it had to be in a restaurant. I love making my favorite restaurant meals at home. I've honestly been kind of discouraged making chicken parm at home. I have never found the right recipe. THIS IS IT!!!!!!!! One of the main reasons I love cooking at home is the control of the ingredients. I like my food spicy so I added more pepper flakes and it was PERFECT. It was so good. I made sure that I had leftovers so that I can have one piece for dinner and another piece right now for breakfast . THANK YOU for this recipe so simple yet so frickin DELICIOUS! * Insert chef's kiss*

As far as a jar sauce, Barilla is very good and not too expensive. Also, some lesser know Italian brands that are excellent are Botticelli and Victoria. Love that you used FRESH mozzarella and basil. Styal bread crumbs add all the dried seasonings above with the usual flour,egg, mixture. For an extra kick
    dried red pepper or pickeld jalapeno
    for the Mexican slant aka Veracruzana. Good stuff indeed ! Oh I forgot the black and green olives !

    My pro tip for this recipe would be to replace the Cento crushed tomatoes with Cento's San Marzano tomatoes. The company makes great tomato products all around, but as far as tomato sauces are concerned, the San Marzanos are the best quality tomatoes that can be found in most US grocery stores, and well worth the extra $1-2 price.

    I always make my own sauce. Strangely, I got the recipe from watching *The Godfather.* Clemenza shows Michael how to make sauce and I tried it the way he did it in the movie. It was so good that I always made my own since then (around 20 years ago). 😋 Every few months, I just make a huge pot, portion it out in air tight jars, and stick it in the refrigerator. It is WAY cheaper than buying *Prego* or some other high fat/sugar stuff.

    Great recipe. I usually buy Rao's, but will try making your homemade sauce.

    I used to by White Linen sauce but it got too salty, recently we like Rao's. You make it look so simple plus I already buy your brand of canned tomatoes so I will try it next time.

    I enjoy all of your recipes. I just discovered your channel a few weeks ago and I love it. I actually use to live in Milan for more than a decade, so I learned how to make many different sauces. I've never looked back since, lol 😆 Keep up the amazing videos! Blessings and abundance, always....

    I like Ragu. I cook it overnight in a crockpot for 12 hours.

    One day I started cooking this using boneless butterflied THIGHS instead of breasts. Way more flavorful and juicy. Give it a try
