Thumbs up for the idea (even more so once it gets the option for line inputs as you mentioned), thumbs up for your honesty, thimbs up for playing and singing into it, thumbs up for all analog, and...triple thumbs up for the dog! 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
It’s more or less a normal plate reverb, but instead of having some sort of electrical element that you send line level signals to that excite the plate, it has openings on the side so the actual sounds in the room make the plate reverberate. Then the pickups attached to the plate record the plate and send you a signal (like a normal plate reverb).
Ya, just the RCA ribbon mic (mono) with the PlateMic as the stereo reverb. Live feed off my API console going through my Heritage Grandchild compressor straight my Otari MTR-12 tape machine. I recorded the repro head of the tape machine into ProTools in real time.
I’ve got a link in the description for the pre sale. Obviously not going to be a cheap product, but this is the most affordable plate they’ve done so far!
Sounds good. Good song/ lyrics also!

Crazy!!!
That is sick!
Do you have an ETA update on the production version review?
bottom end is killer. Right so this is a reverb mic. like it picks up the room and puts it through the reverb plate then out put to tape...right?

Is the reverb from the platemic?
