Range Rover L322 with No Fuel Gauge - Let's Fix the Previous Mechanics Error!

- This 2003 Range Rover L322 hasn't got a working fuel gauge. It only reads empty all the time. The car recently had a fuel pump. What could be wrong? Let's fix the previous mechanics error!

Hi Adam. As usual problem solved ! The fuel guage on my Citroen Berlingo is wildly inaccurate and regularly tells me l'm out of fuel. Today it wouldn't start . However , the car was sideways on our access road with the petrol cap on the upper side . So l guessed petrol wasn't getting to the engine . I managed to reverse the car on the starter (!!) So l could roll it down the hill to the level . After a nervous 10 seconds of winding the starter off she went . Straight down to the filling station and managed to squeeze in 12 litres !!! They say you shouldn't look a gift horse in the mouth and as l was gifted this from my cousin who had to return to Seattle .....l don't ! Thanks Adam

Cutting an access panel to replace the fuel pump on 1990+ XJ40 is actually the sane way to do it, for a few reasons: The tank is very difficult to remove. The fuel line connections are right above the diff and are more than likely seized after all these years. If one is dumb enough to try and remove these, the connections might break and be unavailable. If the special fuel line break, good luck! It is the way that actual XJ40 and X300 owners do.
That looked like a somewhat awkward job! My first vw beetle had no petrol guage (1964), so i got used to never being totally sure of what was in the tank but far preferable to have a working guage 😊
It wasn't too bad. Much easier than if I had to replace any parts

@@LivingWithAClassic yes 2.5 that skipped timing. The 2012 S60 vintage have problems eating the serpentine belt into the timing belt cogs under the timing cover
