- If you own a Jaguar with the first generation of their V8 it is very important to make sure your secondary timing chain tensioners are replaced. If yours are still the original ones, here is how to replace them.

Great camera view, thanks for the video!
A+++ video! Sadly, Jaguar went from a "bullet-proof" engine in the 95-97 XJ6 to this in 1998 (USA)!
Another informative video Adam thanks for sharing this with us best regards Andy Allen.
Great work Adam. You should put one of those engines in your S type. How cool would that be!
Video approved good work, click.
I took a small vacation with my XJ40 around 2000km and all went fine, except for one big big problem: I hit a deer on the highway, at 100km/h. It was 11h00am monday. It had made a "poof" sound and then the front right of the car is destroyed, with a lot of ketchup everywhere. I was still 3 hours of road away from home and after a quick inspection, I went back home. i have already bought the parts to rebuild it, but it'll take some time... A bonnet, a fender, a light, flashers, corner of the bumper. Not a great week after that sadly... But, if I was in a small economy car, it could have gone very bad for me.
In Adam we trust ........❤
Hi Adam
Do you recommend changing the filter in the gearbox on these xk8 or xkrs
Love the channel keep it up
Thanks
Hi I love your videos are you going to do a video on the tvr griffith
Hi thanks for the nice video. Do you have or make a video to check and adjust the valve clearance of a xjs v12. Thanks
Sorry I do not but as soon as I have that job come up I promise to film it
If you want to exert force on an aluminum component, might a piece of wood be a suitable tool?
If you’re careful you won’t make a mark. It was very light force and it didn’t leave a mark
Adam is there a way to remove the cams without removing the front cover. I have the timing tools. I need to replace the valve stem seals on the same engine using air or rope method.
I don't think so but I am not 100% sure
Normally the tensioner upgrade requires 32 new parts because the lower tensioners are most of the time just as bad. They sell very good upgrade parts and you replace everything on the way because it will crack if you remove it or when you put it back together. We do it weekly.

Adam is that the Buick based V8 that Rover originally ran?
No, that is a complete different engine
The chains were so much stronger on an AJ6. Sad to see the Ford-ification of some important engine parts.
One of many issues, plastic thermostat housing but worst of all Nikasil cylinder lining, rear wheel hubs failing is another.
